About the property

Top 12th Floor Penthouse in the Rubi Building, 3 Bedroom 3 Bath 2300 sq ft interior and 2500 sq. ft outdoor patio. Only two penthouse condos share the top floor of the Rubi building so this unit has the best of both worlds, it feels like a home with total privacy, but has the amenities of a resort. The large outdoor patio is completely private (not shared by any other unit). Direct ocean and pool view from two bedrooms, living room and kitchen. See two ocean views at the same time. One directly in front and Cholla Bay to the west. The view is absolutely amazing, especially at sunset!

Three new TRANE AIR CONDITIONERS installed in 2015.

Designer furnishings (Robb & Stucky) throughout, condo customized by interior designer. Custom 16 x16 travertine flooring interior and exterior (No ceramic tiles)

Living room with built in 50 inch Flat Panel TV and custom brick dome ceiling with indirect lighting that glows at night. Large comfortable sectional living room sofa. Bose home theater system. iPod port to play your favorite music.

Dining room with large table for 8 with designer chandelier and an 8 ft. hand carved credenza.

Kitchen has LG stainless steel appliances, granite counter, two refrigerators and many small appliances. Fully stocked with all the cookware for gourmet dinners. Keurig Coffee machine (please bring your own K-Cups).

Master bedroom is exquisitely furnished with a customized king canopy bed, large armoire with 37 inch LCD TV / DVD player and matching bedside tables with lamps and en-suite bathroom. Private balcony patio with coffee table and two chairs with an ocean view.

The second master bedroom has a pillow top queen size bed with custom bedding, Dresser and night stands with reading lamps. Plenty of drawers for storage. En-suite bathroom.

Kid's room with custom bedding with a surfer theme, two bunk beds with one having full size bed on the bottom. Pull out twin also under bunk, 37 inch LED TV / with DVD player. En-suite bathroom.

All furniture and mattresses are high grade purchased in the United States.

Outdoor patio has plenty of room for entertaining guests. Multiple seating areas with sofa, lounge chairs, granite table for 8, and various other seating. Extensive outdoor BBQ area with 20 foot granite bar/grill island that seats 10+ people, 48 inch outdoor grill, stainless appliances and fireplace.

Las Palomas is a AAA 4 Diamond award resort on Sandy Beach on the sea of Cortez just 212 miles from Phoenix. Resort Amenities include an 18 hole Jack Nicholas golf course, 7 pools including a children's pool water slide, 2 lazy rivers, 2 swim up bar/ poolside eateries, room service, beach palapas, deluxe covered lounge chairs, beach towel service, barbecue grills, convenience store, fitness center, restaurants, child-care services, gated security, underground parking, 24 hour check-in/out, concierge, 24 hour medical attendant, 24 hour security. Restaurants include La Maria and Citron.

Maximum occupancy is 8 people, but up to 1 extra person is allowed at an additional rate of $20 per night. Children age 2 and under do not count toward occupancy rule and there is no charge for children 2 year old and younger.

This is non-smoking unit and there are no pets allowed. Must be age 25 or older to rent. ID at check-in required. Payment is made directly to Las Palomas with a credit cardholder to secure your reservation. Passports are required for all persons age 16 and older to enter the United States.

Note: Las Palomas Resort no longer provides floats for the Lazy River, please bring your own inner tubes.


This is the lowest rate for a penthouse allowed by Las Palomas Resort.

WARNING, NEW RULES EFFECTIVE 3/1/2012: All rentals at Las Palomas MUST go through the official rental pool. Although each unit is individually owned, Las Palomas controls the rates. If another owner is stating that they will send you the keys, book you as an owner, guest of owner, or offering you rates less than we are quoting, you will be renting illegally. Security at the main gate and front desk has been instructed to deny entry. The unit you may be illegally renting will have restrictive services which may include no phone, cable, maid service, no pool or common area access and other features you may expect. You can be assured that the quality of the illegal unit, it's furnishings, accessories, bedding, electronics, etc. will not have met Las Palomas minimum standards for the resort approved and managed rental pool. Please rent only official Las Palomas rental pool condos to avoid these inconveniences.

We live in phoenix and the short trip to Rocky Point is a great weekend getaway. My family loves the beach and the warm waters of Puerto Penasco. We enjoy swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving. This is a great place for family vacations!

Las palomas is fantastic resort with all the amenities only 212 miles from Phoenix. Close enough for weekend trips. Great beach, great pools, great golf course, great fun!

Absolutely Georgeous Penthouse!

From the moment we walk into the condo, we knew we picked the right place. The condo was well furnished with fine furniture. A beautiful brick dome ceiling with indirect lighting accents the living room. The sectional sofa was incredibly comfortable while relaxing with friends. The kitchen with stainless steel appliances was well equipped. Even a Kureig machine was available for morning coffee. Bring your own K-cups, as they are not available in Rocky Point.

The materbedroom was beautifully furnished with a large marble master bathroom. A private balcony attached to the master bedroom was a nice treat for privacy. The second bedroom is well furnished with a queen bed and large master bathroom. The kids room was perfect! It contained two bunk beds with one of the lower bunks full size and also includes a roll out twin trundle bed. Flat panel TV, DVD player and board games kept the kids busy! Now for the outdoor patio. It is absolutely huge and gorgeous! The views are incredible! Direct ocean views that overlook the pools. It looks really cool at night with the lighted pools. You also see the ocean from the west which overlooks Cholla Bay. The outdoor furniture is high end with outdoor carpeting and granite side tables. The granite outdoor bar island is to die for! It seats 10 people. We cooked dinner on the huge outdoor stainless steel grill and dined outdoors at the table. We even used the outdoor fireplace for late night chats with friends.

This was our fifth time staying at Las Palomas Resort and this penthouse was by far the most beautiful and luxurious condo we stayed in. The owner, Mike was very helpful in answering any questions and we really appreciate him sharing his place with us.

Great stay

We took our first family trip to the beach this summer and looked for the perfect place to stay in Rocky Point, we found it! This condo had plenty of room and some to spare for 4 adults and 2 Kurds. Easy check in process, friendly staff and a clean condo! The views are incredible for the huge patio! Cooking made easy with everything you need and plenty of space to eat! We did have a few minor hiccups, but one easy call to the front desk and maintenance was on top of it. One of the days the power went out in the city, this was the place to "rough it", able to open the sliding doors and get an awesome breeze through the condo and cook dinner on the BBQ. The kids especially enjoyed the many pool, water slide and lazy river!! Great time had by all we hope to return!!! The entire trip we felt safe and had no bad issues ! The owner is great and very helpful with questions . He is quick with responses and helped make our family vacation a great one!

Fantastic Place - 5 STARS +++

We arrived from Tucson Friday evening looking for a quick weekend getaway. When we arrived we were blown away by how beautiful the Penthouse Condo was. It was spacious, beautifully decorated with everything you would need. The patio area and views were breath taking. Top notch all the way. The resort was great, water warm and service perfect. I HIGHLY recommend this unit for anyone looking for a upscale getaway to Rocky Point. Nicer than some suites I have stayed in in 5 start hotels. We will be back.

Too Good and Bad at the Same Time...#Cockroach

The place was great, excellent views, large rooms and spacious patio. However, the worst thing that can happen...happened. 1) The kitchen was full of cockroaches and 2) One room had the AC not working (Bdrm #2).

1) I called housekeeping Friday night to come and spray all over and was told all was good. Next morning, we woke up to an infestation of such. Called again, they said they would have to fumigate when we leave. We left, we came back that afternoon, all seemed good until we opened the cabinets and doors from the sinks and again, it was like a party for them. Called again that evening and just asked that they bring me a can of cockroach spray so that i do the job myself, i was tired of delaing with them. However, they said all offices were closed and they could not get the spray nor they can send someone to buy it, i went and bought it myself as i could not stand the feel of being in a place like this. We departed Monday morning and quarantine our luggage and boxes we had until we were sure we transported no cockroaches within our belongings. An experience i will never forget, NOT FOR A GOOD REASON...

2) When we first arrived, we called for Bdrm, #2 having the air so hot and they came and apparently fixed it. The next day, after hours of operation, the air was still hot, so the fix did not work. Next morning, we called again and they came and fixed it again (apparently). By the afternoon, i complained that if it is not working, no matter what they do, they will not fixed it so they told me the truth, the unit is not operational for that bedroom. They offered us another room in the same building for two nights, which was good as far as AC is concern however, it too had cockroaches.

These were the worst vacations for a first times in Puerto Penasco. The condo was great but just what we had to go thru made it absolutely horrendous. And to make matters worse, we had dinner and one local restaurant by the shore and 6 of 8 of us got sick of some sort of seafood poisoning. It got so bad that they had to call the resort paramedics. I usually never say never but this might one time that i will truly mean it, i may NEVER go back there...

Owner's Response: It is very unfortunate that the renter felt his experience at Las Palomas was less than desirable. As the unit owner, since it was newly built, neither my family nor my guests have ever had an experience such as the one described while staying at our penthouse condo. We pride ourselves in offering a perfectly maintained condo with numerous comforts and amenities . We have never had an insect issue or even a cockroach sighting as the condo is located on the 12th floor (top) of the building. As a precautionary measure, pest control service was performed. I then, personally inspected the premises. In reference to the issue with the air conditioner unit that was not working during this guest’s stay, we installed a new Trane air conditioner unit to prevent future challenges such as this. Please read the other reviews, as this guest’s experience seems to be the exception to previous guest experiences.

Awesome Condo

We have spent many years vacationing in Rocky Point and usually limit our condo stays to Phase II. This trip we took a chance on this unit in Phase I and were very happy we did. The unit is very well furnished and has EVERY item you would need to cook or entertain. The outdoor patio set up is very nice with the bbq, fireplace and upper end patio furniture. Fathers Day dinner with steaks, shrimp and quite a few cocktails was wonderful. This is definitely a unit to rent.

Fall Break Getaway to Las Palomas - Best Unit in the Resort

Our fall break getaway has been perfect! I found this Penthouse unit on and called the owner for more information. He was very nice and quick to get back to me and made it simple to reserve the unit by email. The unit is slightly more expensive more than a standard 3 bedroom unit but it is well worth the extra money for the space and upgraded features making it feel luxurious in comparison to the other units in Phase 1. The unit is very spacious and floor plan is laid out well. The upgrades are high end and overall we just felt like we were staying in a 5 star hotel. The balcony is HUGE giving the kids a place to play when in the room and a nice place to eat dinner as a family in the evening with awesome views from the top floor. The bunk bed room was also a hit for the kids spending much of their time hanging out in there watching movies and hanging out at night and also to mention they had their own bathroom which many other 3 bedroom units did not have. It sits on the 12th floor so there are no other units above you making for peace and quiet. Overall I give it 5 stars but if I were to be picky I would say it's time to upgrade the TV to a smart TV. There is high speed WIFI in the room so having the ability to use Amazon movies, netflix, HULU, ect would be awesome since the cable TV quality is poor in Mexico not having HD Channels. Obviously this is not something that affected our stay but in a Penthouse Suite I think you have to have a better TV setup in that nice large great room so families can watch movies, ect together. The BOSE DVD surround system was broken and did not work because of the wires being damaged. I would love to come back to this unit in the upcoming months and see your technology game stepped up :) Again it was a great unit, nice owner, and we have a great time!! :) Now we have to drive home in the morning :(

In response to your comments, the 48 inch LED TV in the living room is only 1 year old, although it is good idea to have a smart TV, unfortunately Las Palomas internet technology does not curently support the bandwidth necessary to have netflick or streaming. Hopefully that will change in the near future. The Bose surround system cable has been replaced. Sometimes housekeeping unplugs the system in order to clean behind the unit and the cable may get damaged. Also, Las Palomas resort experiences power surges and the Bose systems sometimes needs to unplugged for 60 seconds and pluged back in to restart the system.
