The 2nd level enjoys the exclusive use of the 3rd ocean and mountain view bararea. The kitchens are fully equipped for preparing your meals, although the seafood offerings in the many restaurants lining the sand are very easy on the wallet. We have complimentary wifi as well. All towels, dishes, linens, toilet paper and soaps will be provided for you.
The upper level can enjoy dozens of recent DVD´S on the large flat screen TV.
We are within the friendly, bohemian village of Chacala, where the locals will welcome you. Seafood and local shops are all within a block, and the fruit and vegetable truck passes right by the villa, announcing his presence. Being a traditional village, there are shared vans that cruise, tooting as they go. There are no discos to deal with here, but lots of activity, such as roosters and vendors selling as they stroll through town. It´s a great experience and especial for the adventurer. Many water sports and hikes to the volcano will keep your family entertained.Rates for lower $95, upper $145 and total villa $185. Off season rates apply at 25% discount. Let me start with saying the town of Chacala is great, the locals were extremely friendly and polite. Having breakfast on the beach every day was awesome and the slow paced feel of the town is perfect for relaxing. The house itself was great with the exception of a few things - first the stoves did not work so we were not able to cook or boil water for washing dishes and I was surprised at the lack of breeze and high humidity and the house has no air conditioning so I spent many nights laying in bed sweating. These things were not too big of a deal however, there is a chicken coop literally attached to the side of the house with multiple roosters which are directly below the bedroom windows. Every night the roosters started crowing around 3:00 in the morning and didn't stop until mid day. By the third night I was contemplating how I could kill these extremely loud roosters. I was planning on relaxing and sleeping in late on my vacation but instead the roosters woke us all up in the middle of the night and I lay in bed sweating and angry at the roosters. We ended up leaving 2 days early and forfeited our rent to stay at a resort near Puerto Vallarta that had A/C and NO ROOSTERS and my family was finally able to get a good night's sleep after 5 sleepless nights.
The house has an authentic feel and the rooftop deck was awesome - we spent most evenings having cocktails on the roof and enjoying the local culture. I just felt duped with the whole rooster situation. When you can't get more than a few hours of sleep at night, your entire feeling begins to turn and you become agitated. I understand chickens and roosters are part of the small town Mexican culture but when they are 3 feet away from the bedroom walls they are unpleasant. If the stove would have been working I would have had chicken for dinner and my problem would've been solved.
