Unique and wonderful experience to enjoy Italy at its best

  • 5 of 5

We chose this property to enjoy a week in the countryside of Italy. The Casa Rambaldo has been beautifully

restored with all the creature comforts imaginable. Our hostess Gabriella could not have been more helpful

and accommodating. We loved exploring the local area especially the Roman ruins of Aquiliae and its mosaics,

along with the historic towns of Palmanova and Udine. We spend a day in Venice and another in Grado on the

Adriatic. Special memories include wonderful fresh baked bread by Gabriella and fresh free range eggs delivered

to our casa. In Summary, it could not have been a better week and exceeded all of our expectations. We look

forward to returning in the near future. Thank you, Chris and Peter

Owner's Response: Chris and Peter, thanks for your lovely detailed review. I was delighted to meet both of you. It was also very nice to notice how you made researches and were well prepared to enjoy many of the the cultural and natural attractions this beautiful but hidden area has to offer. As the Region Friuli-Venezia Giulia's landscapes range from high mountains, through green hills, lowlands with cristal clear rivers, to rock and sand beachs you, of course, didn't have the time to discover everything, so I do hope to see you back one day. In the meantime I wish you all the best and am sending you many kisses from sunny Strassoldo :-) Lella Williams di Strassoldo

Excellent location and superb facilities

  • 5 of 5

This was our fourth stay in Strassoldo and we will likely return again! The castle gardens are beautiful and provide a very peaceful setting for breakfast and relaxing. The amenities in the home made our stay perfect. We enjoyed the beautiful setting with antique furnishings, while also enjoying having our own kitchen which was well equipped. The owners are very gracious and did everything possible to make our stays perfect and memorable. They very openly share their family home and gardens and are superb host and hostest. Nidia is a dear and provides an excellent breakfast and the mill house and garden is one of my favorite places. This is a wonderful destination which I highy recommend.
