About Jamie and Kathy Allam

Hi there! My wife and I have lived in Cockle Bay for 25 years, raising our four children and several doggies along the way in this beautiful part of Auckland.

Owning a boat we have enjoyed exploring the beauty of the local Hauraki Gulf and its scenic attractions.

The local village has a quaint old English ambience and is nice and close for some shopping or relaxing at one of the local pubs or eateries with friends.

We enjoy travelling abroad and meeting new people who have often become lifelong friends.

It is family friendly, has its own private parking, spacious living areas and includes shared use of the laundry.

Newly renovated and carpeted throughout with exception of the kitchenette, laundry and bathroom. The beds are very comfortable and dressed in high quality linen.

Sky Tv, outdoor fire, spa pool and generous private out door living. Close to beautiful beaches, the Airport, and public transport.

Cosy accommodation, close to amenities

We booked the Garden Vista B&B for seven nights as we were in Auckland for the final Lions rugby test and we found it to be most comfortable and superb value for money.

As you can imagine, we had most days pre-planned but we managed to make use of the hot tub once before we left!

A very cosy and clean accommodation, we recommend it to anyone who needs a base close to Auckland and local facilities.

Many thanks to Jamie, Kathy (and Xena the dog) for a great stay.

Excellent stay in Auckland

If you are looking for some where to stay in Auckland but out of the city then this is a little gem.

It is close to the ferry which takes you to straight into the city or to visit one of the offshore islands so you can park up your car and enjoy a stress free stay.

Jamie and Kathy were amazing hosts and made us feel very welcome.

Very comfortable and in a great location

This is a well equipped, spacious and comfortable property and whilst there were only two of us, 4 could be accommodated easily. It is a few minutes drive from Halfmoon Bay for ferries to Auckland and Waiheke Island and busses to Auckland also run close by the property. It is a 15 minute walk from Howick village which has plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. Kathy and Jamie are welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. Would definitely recommend.

Little oasis away from the bustle of the city

The property is excellent. It is really spacious and plenty of room for the whole family, with two good sized bedrooms. There is a good size kitchen with all the things you need if wishing to eat in. Beautiful backyard for the kids to run around in. The hosts Jamie and Kathy very obliging of any needs you have. If we are back in Auckland we would definitely stay here again.

We are within 50 meters of a bus stop travelling into Auckland city via the local Howick village. Buses run every 25 minutes to the city or, Halfmoon Bay ferry terminal.From here you can catch a ferry into the city or explore other coastal attractions for a day or mores excursion ie, Waiheke Island, Devonport or take a hike to the top of Rangitoto Island, our local volcano.

The Hauraki Gulf is a stunningly beautiful part of New Zealand.

Every Saturday morning you can visit the local village markets, strolling via the beach and enjoy a coffee and some fresh local cuisine along the way.
