Pleasure Point Home

  • 3 of 5

The home is 1/2 block from the ocean. There's also a small market right around the corner, which was convenient for ice. The ice maker in the freezer did not work. The three bedrooms worked for six of us. The biggest problem was at 6:00 p.m. Friday our one toilet was plugged. I'd called the owner, as well as, sent a text message. He came to fix it himself at 3:52 p.m. on Saturday and said he couldn't fix it. The toilet was unclogged around 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The issue was we were down to one toilet in the master suite which is just an extension of the bedroom without a door. Very inconvenient and awkward when the people were in bed while we're were using the bathroom.

I'd recommend having instructions for the three remote controls. Also getting the ice maker fixed in the freezer.

Owner's Response: The guest flushed a linen down the toilet then called for a plumber at 11pm. I was able to get someone out to fix it within 24 hours of the issue on a weekend. I even went out there myself to try and fix it but was unable. There was still another useable bathroom during this time.. We didn't even charge them for their mistake and they still gave us a negative review. They also said there would only be 3 people in the house but had 6 stay. I would not rent to them in the future.

Relaxing week at Pleasure Point

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week at Pleasure Point. It was so nice to wake up each morning and walk around the corner to watch the waves and surfers from the cliffs at Pleasure Point. The house is perfectly located on a quiet street right around the corner from all the action of East Cliff Drive with people walking, riding bikes and just sitting and taking in the view. This house is centrally located between Santa Cruz and Capitola and so many great restaurants, cafes and shops are easily walkable. The house is clean and cozy. It is fully equipped with all you need. The manager was always available to resolve any issues we had and responded quickly and effectively. We are looking forward to coming back again.

Cozy, Quiet Beach House in fantastic location!

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our Pleasure Point beach house. It was steps away from Pleasure Point which provided us with long walks, tide pools, people/surfer watching. The house was a great size for the four of us. We enjoyed the huge kitchen and living area as well as the quiet rooms in back.

Just a note for families traveling with small kids. There is no bathtub for little ones to bathe. Also, the pilot light for the stove wasn't functional so we had to light it with a match each time.

We had a wonderful time and hope to come back and stay in the future!

Location, location, location!

  • 4 of 5

The title says it all -- this house is located in a fantastic location right next to Pleasure Point beach. Great for walks, beach time and surfing. The house is very comfortable, with enough room for our group of 5 to spread out.

Patrick was responsive when I called him about getting more propane for the grill & dishwasher detergent. There are a couple improvements that would make this home even better. Both bathrooms need updating -- one shower is a trickle and the other is not designed for tall people. And although the Wolf stove is beautiful, it emits a gas smell (which I may be extra sensitive to --we ended up leaving the doors open whenever we were home) & requires manual lighting of the burners which can be scary if you aren't used to it.

Otherwise, we had a really great stay there.

What a location!

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our stay at this casa very much! Just a few steps away from the Pleasure Point surf and the Point Market (which has bomb burritos!!) made this a super convenient place to celebrate my husband's birthday and the 4th of July in festive Santa Cruz.

We will return!

Thank you, Patrick!

It is a short day trip to San Francisco, Monterey and the Monterey Bay Aquarium or the beautiful 'Seventeen Mile Drive' along the coast between Carmel and Monterey. Adventure possibilities include surfing, kayaking or stand up paddling in and around the Santa Cruz boat harbor or the estuaries of Moss Landing, bird and marine life watching, deep sea fishing, bike riding or hiking. As well, the location is perfectly situated for diverse dining options and great shopping including an array of antique stores.
