Cozy apartment and an awesome view
The apartment is small but just right for my wife, 9 year old daughter and myself. Bright and airy with a magnificent view looking toward Waikiki. Kitchen was a great plus for chilling with breakfast and coffee in the mornings. Opening the sliding doors to let the breeze in at night was lovely.
Suggestions to make it even more awesome:
1) Provide more than 1 key fob for entrance to community. (Fob is needed to exit through beach side , so my wife and I where always confused what to do with it when I went surfing.
2) Community should have surf board rack or storage at beach side patio - nowhere convenient to put surfboards .Basement stairwell gait is welded shut (?) Elevator is too small for long boards.
3) Outdoor Shower at beach side patio is shut off, this should be repaired. Especially if you don't want sand tracked into the unit.
These where minor inconveniences I was able to work around, but it did require some creative thinking, others might not be happy about if they are into water sports.
Overall we really loved the location. The Diamond Head neighborhood is really charming. Easy access to Waikiki , great walking through the park, awesome sunsets at the beach park every night. What more could you ask for ? Thanks again for a wonderful stay.
This one bedroom condo on the gold coast was charming indeed!
We loved the area where this condo stood. You are walking distance to Waikiki yet far enough away from all the people to enjoy the peaceful ocean setting!
The condo itself was nicely decorated and the fully stocked kitchen was used often! Waking up in the morning and sitting with a cup of coffee looking out at the ocean was a great way to start the mornings.
Being on the 12th floor made for some excellent views and also the cross breezes kept the place cool most of the time.
The modem was old and stopped and I used up all my phone data, then Brent came over the following day and replaced it with a brand new one.
My biggest complaint was the size of the bedroom which was very small. The only way for me to get into bed was to climb in from the bottom of the bed. It felt claustrophobic at times. The other thing I was disappointed in and I would recommend changing would be to get rid of the desk and replace it with a dresser. It would be fine for someone staying a few days or a week, but for someone staying longer it was very difficult because I had no place to put my clothes. The bedroom was too small to live out of my suitcase, so I ended up using the small desk drawers and laying my clothes on the desk chair. My husband used the small drawers in the table under the TV. I also hung up my clothes in the closet using three items per hanger. All of which worked out, but a small dresser would have helped significantly!
All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit beautiful Hawaii!
This is not a Tropic Seas apartment!
Note: This unit is not at tropic Seas, it is next door at Diamond Head Hotel and Apartments.
Peaceful Retreat. Stunning views.
Beautiful setting. Clean apartment. Stunning views. Right ON the water, which we loved. It was fantastic for us & our kids (21&24). Although disappointed that there was not a Beach, we loved walking along (or jumping off) the concrete wall that dropped off into the ocean. It was a peaceful retreat from the chaos of Waikiki. Brett was a Superb host, and his presence made our Vacation even Better. This unit would have felt much too small for more than the 3 of us. And even though it could have actually slept up to 5, the kitchen & towel situation was designed for 4 or less. We loved having the option of cooking! Thanks for sharing this 'Home Away' with us.
Panoramic views, beautiful location
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent 6-night stay here, so I have all good things to say about the condo and the owners, who had thought of almost everything we could possibly need. The rooms and furnishings- including dishes and appliances- were clean and in beautiful condition. Brent was really helpful, responding to all of our questions and needs quickly, although we didn’t need much more than was already provided.
It is not overstating to say that the 180 views from either side of the suite are breathtaking. On the ‘lanai’ side, the view (floor to ceiling) spans the mountains to the bay, with views of the city in the background and beautiful Kapiolani Park right across the street. On the other side, Diamond Head and the ocean are right there, unobstructed. We could see surfers in the morning and sailboats in the evening. I took a lot of pictures and got some postcard worthy photos. Since the breezes felt great, we kept the doors on both sides open a lot. We did use the AC a couple of times, especially since we cooked and even used the oven once (yes, in August..) but otherwise it was comfortable without AC. The building has a private lawn right on the water where it's nice to sit in a lawn chair and read, while listening to the waves! We walked to a good beach about 5 minutes away, to a tiki bar in Waikiki and to an outdoor place for sandwiches, near a beach about 10 min away. We also walked past the aquarium on the ocean side to watch the fireworks across the water on Friday. The 19 and 20 buses run about every 20 min and stop close by (tho from that level you can't hear them). We decided to rent a car and found overnight parking across the street! The location is definitely far enough from the crowds to be peaceful, but close enough to the Waikiki neighborhood to walk or bus if you're in a touristy mood. I understand why the people we met there are so attached to the building. I'll be recommending this suite to anyone who's going or thinking of going to Honolulu.
Great having you. Thanks for the feedback, you were our first customers, we hope they are all so kind. Glad you had a wonderful vacation.
