Why Owner chose Lee
It was love at first site, and over 250,000 pounds of building materials and eighteen months of construction later - it is our zen dream space for rest, relaxation, entertaining and working. The property was the first in the country to be powered by AC electricity, including the first ever electric boat launch and largest installation of electric lights at the time. The Playhouse contains the largest remaining installation of the original Westinghouse Electric lighting fixtures. The property's original builder, George Westinghouse, was not only a leading global industrialist, but also the first one to be considered a humanitarian: “If someday they say of me that in my work I have contributed something to the welfare and happiness of my fellow man, I shall be satisfied." ~George Westinghouse.
