Why Steve Williams chose Southeast Washington
We love this home for three main reasons: 1) The Location: It's walking distance to so many great places! Barracks Row and Eastern Market are popular and fun hang out spots through out the year. The National Mall, though slightly further, is also within walking distance. Even the essentials are close by- grocery stores, markets and pharmacies. Anything not in walking distance can be easily accessed by Metro, as we are just a short walk away from the Potomac Ave. Metro. Check out our location guide for more details on nearby bars, restaurants and entertainment. 2) It's New and Comfortable: It's a 2016 renovation which comes with an open floor plan, beautiful granite in the kitchen, state of the art appliances and security system and a fantastic shower. The furniture is decorated for your comfort while still having a nice modern look. 3) It's versatile: It's size and lay out makes it great for families, business stays and groups of friends. There is ample communal space but still has a private entrance into the bedroom.

Great, but not perfect.
Unit was very clean & easily accessible. All was as advertised, but have the following suggestions:
- Bathroom could use towel racks/hooks.
- Bathtub had no mat & was very slippery.
- Toilet was very loose
We otherwise loved the place & Steve/Lisa were very responsive - highly recommended.
Awesome Vacation Getaway
We loved this property! The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. It had the best shower! After a long day of sightseeing, that shower was incredible! The owners were on top of everything. They were extremely prompt with replying to my initial emails and even brought over a new air mattress when they heard the one in the apartment might not be working correctly. In the living room, the owners left great recommendations for restaurants and things to do that weren’t the typical sight seeing ideas for Washington DC. This property is in close proximity (2-3 minute walking distance) to a nice grocery store, restaurants, and the metro station that will take you anywhere in DC. This being our first experience with a VRBO property, we are so glad we did it and will definitely recommend this property to friends who are in need of a place in the DC area!
Great location, clean, perfect for a quick trip
Overall, we thought this was a great rental. It was very clean and in a great location near the Metro.
We thought the apartment was really cute, the main problem we had with the place was the upstairs renters. There were 2 different sets of renters while we stayed there and you can hear everything that goes on above you. I don't know how you would change it? Better insulation? It was very annoying! Another problem we had was garbage - I know at other locations we have stayed at we were told to bring it out to dumpster on a certain day. There was nothing to indicate what to do with it, so we left it inside when we left. I do have to say that Lisa was very helpful with answering any questions we had before we arrived. Thank you for that! The sofa bed in the living room is very uncomfortable and the bed in the bedroom was ok at best. It is not in the best area of the city, there were police vehicles/sirens out in the street at least 2 times per night. However, as far as being centrally located it definitely was that!
The Capitol Hill neighborhood is named for its proximity to the Capitol building. It spans the eastern side of the Capitol from the beautiful Anacostia River to the south through the fabulous H Street corridor to the north. It is filled with colorful row houses and iconic DC streets. The heart of Capitol Hill is a strip of bars, restaurants and shops along 8th Street known as Barracks Row, which is an 8 minute walk away. It is named for the Marine Barracks that also spans the street. Also nearby is Eastern Market, DC's largest indoor/outdoor market. The market consists of everything from local art to fresh fruits, veggies and seafood. It's a great way to spend a Saturday morning!
