Overview

About the property

Our guest suite is located on beautiful Puget Sound and is a part of our home. We live in a quaint little beachfront community called Edmonds. It is 25 minutes from downtown Seattle. A short 3 minute walk allows you to walk on the beach or catch a ferry ride across Puget Sound and maybe spot an Orca whale. That same 3 minute walk also gets you to the bus or train terminal for travel through out the region.

If you like to Scuba Dive there is an Underwater Dive park 300 yards from your door step,. We have many wonderful restaurants, shops, a movie theater just a few minutes away.

Edmonds is also the home to Travel Guru, Rick Steves.

Our guest suite was built in 2006 and is approximately 500 sq. ft.. It has a comfortable 'beachy' feel with a balcony overlooking Puget Sound and the Ferry coming and going. Cruise ships sail by daily during the cruise season. The sunsets are spectacular in the summer along with the extensive flower garden that was featured in the Edmonds Garden Tour during July 2012. Our home was also featured in the Chef's Tour of Dream Kitchens.

In the summertime, our garden is wonderful to stroll through, sit out front with a cold drink and watch the Ferries and Cruise Ships go by before watching the sun go down with beautiful sunsets. Very Romantic! You can also enjoy a wonderful view from the privacy of your own deck.

There is a mini kitchen equipped with refrigerator, Induction cooktop, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, coffee pot, dishes and silverware. Complimentary water, coffee, tea and apple cider.

Our home also has an elevator for easy access of luggage. Also, for anyone who has trouble climbing stairs.

From May thru September, Edmonds also has a wonderful outdoor Saturday market with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and many other vendors.

We are also located 30 min. from Woodinville Wine Country, which features 90 wineries and many quaint restaurants.

We have 2 micro-breweries in Edmonds and many others throughout the area.

We have a wonderful arts festival on Fathers Day Weekend. Also the taste of Edmonds 1 weekend in Aug.

There is the Tulalip Casino located 30 min. north of us and and outlet mall right next door to the casino.

About Al or Toni Young

Toni and I are retired and love to spend time caring for our house and entertaining. I am an avid golfer while Toni loves to work in our beautiful flower garden. We have six grandchildren and spend lots of time with them. We also love to go out crabbing in Puget Sound and then eating them of course. We travel several times a year and love to cruise.

We love to dine in our town and then take in a movie at the restored Edmonds movie theater. This theater is a classic that was built in the 20's and serves the best popcorn you will ever find.

Al or Toni Young purchased this apartment in 2006

Guestbook comments from the owner

Brandon and his family were great guests. Quiet, clean and very nice.

They had 2 kids and we hardly knew they were here. The kids even made their bunkbeds, I was very shocked. We would love to have the family back anytime.

A home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Al and Toni's home is beautiful and so thoughtfully appointed, from the elevator(!) to the toiletries in the bathroom. The kitchen area was complete, with microwave, toaster oven, and hot plate, and any supplies one might need, even non-stick spray. The main room was very comfortable, with the view of the Sound and the ferry terminal a bonus. The bedroom had lots of storage and was very comfortable. The decor was charming, like being in beach house. And the location is perfect, close to the main highway and downtown Edmonds. We loved staying here, and hope to return!

Charming and beautiful

Thanks Al and Toni,

We had a great time! The neighborhood was very walkable with an assortment of shops and eateries. We enjoyed the Saturday market and picked up some wine which was consumed on the balcony of our rooms while watching the sunset and the ferry come and go. The house and grounds were georgeous and our hosts were so welcoming and accommodating. The neighborhood felt very safe and street parking was suprisingly convenient for a holiday weekend. Our rooms were so comfortable and clean. We were not wanting for anything!

Even better than expected

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I were supposed to go to Seattle for the weekend but I kept coming back to this rental in Edmonds.it's located in a smallish but bustling town about 20 minutes from Seattle. We arrived Friday evening and were delighted with the accommodations! Toni and Al were fantastic hosts. They left some yogurt and cut up fresh fruit in the fridge, and some home made deserts for us which just shows how much they invest in their guests stay. The (mini but perfectly sized for us) kitchen was stocked with everything you might imagine for a short term rental. Coffee, tea, sugar, some microwave popcorn, oatmeal, oil, utensils, etc. There was a small veranda, which we enjoyed when it wasn't raining, to watch the ferry and odd cruise ship pass by on Puget sound. The bed was extremely comfortable and the suite is entirely private. They even have an elevator if you have heavy luggage or have mobility issues. There is a train that goes by periodically that makes noise for a minute or so, as does the ferrry when it's coming and going. By and large it was an extremely peaceful location, which perhaps made the ferry and train noise a bit more noticeable. If you need absolute silence this might not be for you but if a few minutes of noise now and again don't bother you there's nothing I could suggest to make this a better place to stay! We would have loved to stay and wouldn't hesitate to return!!!

We truly enjoyed our brief stay in Toni and Al's lovely guest suite. They are a super nice couple and their property is perfect with it's views of the Sound and proximity to Edmonds, which is only a short walk away. We will most certainly be back!

Impressive

  • 5 of 5

Toni and Al were the perfect host! They welcomed me when I arrived and advised me what their regular routine was (I.e. Setting alarms). My room/ bathroom was in a separate wing so it seemed a bit more private and had the keys to come in and out of the home. Toni and Al gave some suggestions of where to eat and visit. I would definitely use the home again when I am in Edmonds again.

Wonderful, cozy accomodations with spectacular balcony views

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were in Edmonds to visit our grandchildren and wanted accommodations that were close to the quaint downtown district of Edmonds but with views of the sound.

Toni and Al's place excelled in all areas.....it has a beautiful view of the sound, with the Olympic mountains as a backdrop and the ferry dock very conveniently located a block away. The suite was very cozy and had an atmosphere that made you feel instantly at home. The bedroom was large with ample space for clothing. The bed was very comfortable and had just the right amount of quality covers.. Kitchen was well stocked and they went so far as to have a bowl cut up fruit in the fridge! The balcony is a great space to have your morning coffee. Al and Toni are wonderful hosts and it seems a privilege to stay in a suite in their home where the owners takes such pride in the comfort of their guests. Indeed a wonderful cosy suite in a wonderfully appointed home with spectacular views! Thank you....Laura & Jim

Owner's Response: We were on vacation when Laura and Jim arrived . My sister, Debi, thought they were very pleasant and nice. We were lucky enough to arrive home in time to meet them. We agree with Debi, a very pleasant couple, nice to talk to, quiet and clean. Would be happy if they stayed with us again.
