About Karen Burka
My husband's family purchased this amazing property, Blythewood Island (yes really an island with a road) in 1955. This home in the early 1900's was once the extra sleeping quarters for the Grand Blythewood Island Hotel. My inlaws purchased the home from a Great Uncle and conformed it into a home of which my husband was raised. After their passing, in order to continue the tradition in the family, we have converted the home by completely remodeling and restoring to it's original charm. The Great Room is only enhanced by the amazing large stone fireplace. Each room is tastefully decorated in Adirondack Flair.

Wonderful place on Loon Lake
The property was above expectations. It was clean and comfortable. The fire pit was great to keep us nice and warm on the fall night! Hope to make it back again!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed your stay. Feel free to come back anytime!
Beautiful water-front Adirondack property that is well furnished and inviting. It felt great to stay there !
Stonewood Lodge getaway
We spent 4 nights at the Stonewood Lodge. We loved the location and the peace at the property and the lake. The house was plenty enough space for the 4 adults and 3 kids in our party, and it worked perfect for the kids to share the adjoining two bedrooms. There were plenty of kitchen amenities and lots of firewood. The kids loved fishing off the dock and the paddle boat. We even got an evening party boat ride from the neighbor! The lodge is authentic, rustic, Adirondack, which is what we were looking for. We did have an unfortunate odor issue but the owners more than made up for it, and were very attentive.
Thank you for the review - we appreciate it and welcome you back to stay any time.
Great place to stay
We had a great time at the Stone Lodge. Upon arriving in the rain on our bikes, Fred met us at the lodge and showed us around. He then went way out of his way and took us to the store so we could buy some food and drinks. The lodge was very nice and so was the setting. We were mostly outside on the great porch and had a fire on the beach. Highly recommend this place!
You are all welcome back anytime! Thanks for the great review and we are glad you had a good time!
Great house for a crowd
The house and property was perfect for our large family. We even had extra sleeping spaces we did't use. The lawn, porch, beach and, my favorite, She-Shed made for a fantastic weekend. My family want to do it again next year.
A time to relax
This was a great place to come and relax and reconnect with college kids back for the summer. The description does not prepare you for how nice the place is. And when we had an issue, it was taken care of immediately. Would highly recommend, and definitely come back again.
Tom and his family (including Willow) were terrific guests. Your welcome back any time.
The Adirondack Region, rich in scenic vistas and natural lakes, streams, ponds, rivers. The amazing visuals of the High Peak Mountains.
