Dog-friendly beach house on nature preserve! Includes private hot tub, game room

Space 1,605 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 4 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 10

This spacious vacation home for 10 offers all the luxury and amenities you would expect from a high-end getaway, coupled with a few playful touches that make it extra special. Between soaking in the hot tub, shooting pool in the game room, and roasting marshmallows at the outdoor firepit, you might have trouble convincing your family to leave the house and stroll down to the beautiful sandy beach!

Despite its relaxed and fun-loving atmosphere, this dog-friendly home is also well-appointed with custom light fixtures, polished hardwoods, and modern furnishings. The living area is open and bright, with vaulted ceilings allowing plenty of natural light to pour in through the tall windows. A plush sofa and armchair sit before a cozy electric fireplace, making for a very cozy spot to curl up with a good book.

The open floor plan includes a six-person dining table that sits adjacent to the sunny kitchen. Amateur chefs will find everything they need to prepare gourmet meals, including stainless steel appliances, ample counterspace, and several small appliances (such as a mixer, waffle iron, and blender, just to name a few). The dishwasher makes clean up a breeze, even with a large group of diners.

Above the living area, the open loft makes a great place for the kids to hang out and have their own space. Air hockey and a pool table will make even the rainiest of days entertaining. There is a bedroom upstairs with a full bed, as well as a sleeper sofa and futon in the loft for extra guests. Downstairs, the luxurious master suite has a beautiful queen bed and attached bath with a soaking tub. The third bedroom, also downstairs, has a twin-over-double bunk bed, just right for a second couple with a child.

On warmer days, everyone will surely congregate outdoors. The back patio has a set of table and chairs just waiting to welcome a pitcher of margaritas or bottle of wine for a leisurely afternoon, or gather around the gas grill to flip burgers or listen to the steaks sizzle. On the other side of the deck, a hot tub offers a relaxing place to soak under the stars (or first thing in the morning, since it is your vacation, after all). In the yard, an outdoor fire pit is ringed with hand-cut tree stumps, just begging for a marshmallow roast or ghost story session. The house sits on the edge of a babbling creek and quiet pond that attracts the area wildlife and coastal sea birds, providing a lovely backdrop as you sip your morning coffee on the balcony and space for the kids to explore the great outdoors just beyond your front door.

Large groups will feel right at home here, with a washer/dryer provided to keep up with laundry and Internet access for those who need to stay connected. The house is even dog friendly, so you don't need to leave any family members at home (although a nightly pet fee applies). When you arrive, you'll find even more pleasant surprises, such as three bicycles (two adult, one child) and plenty of games, books, and toys to keep you busy all week.

When you do convince yourself to leave the house, the serene Nedonna Beach is just a short walk away, with a long stretch of sand for sunbathing, seashell hunting, and kite flying. Downtown Rockaway Beach's small but charming collection of shops and restaurants are about three miles south, making this home perfect for those who like a little more peace and quiet while still being close to the amenities and conveniences of town. And even closer to home, plenty of opportunities for fishing, crabbing, clamming, and chartered tours abound in this recreational paradise.

About Vacasa, OR - Oregon Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Quiet, comfortable retreat

  • 5 of 5

This rental was conveniently located and comfortable. We enjoyed the ability to walk to the beach. The hot tub under the stars and games upstairs were great additions.

Nice quiet street

  • 4 of 5

This spacious home is located on a nice quite street with an empty lot on either side and green space to the back. Lots of natural light. The kitchen had lots of space and amenities, although could use some updates in cookware and eatery. Beds were ok, much softer than my taste though and pillows flat, I unfortunately forgot my own personal pillow. Fun things to do like hot tub, ping pong, air hockey, pool table, games, books, sand toys. It was a quick straight walk to beach maybe 5-10 minutes or just seconds drive to the lot at the south Nehalem bay jetti. Loved having a washer and dryer and dishwasher. Most of all we loved that it was dog friendly, even had a big water bowl waiting for us when we arrived.

Fantastic area, and great stay close to the beach!

  • 4 of 5

Overall, we had a really nice stay. We were happy with the house, including the hot tub and the fire pit. A few things needed updates, but overall, we had a great couple of days. The beach nearby is very "Oregon-y" and picturesque with driftwood, and a lot of sand to walk on and play in. The location of the house is fantastic if you want to be near a grass-roots Oregon beach.

The wagon was a must for going to and from the beach with young kids. We were thankful we had it! The game room games were all in great working order, and the kids had fun playing in the loft. In the living room area, there were some toys and games in a bench that gave the kids some additional activities to do in between trips to the beach and adventures on the coast.

The downside of our visit was that when we arrived at the scheduled time (4pm) the cleaning woman was still there. It was an extremely hot day for the Oregon Coast, and she was working very hard. There were 3 loads of laundry that were still needed to be complete, and so we let her know we would go ahead and do that for her, which we did. The laundry wasn't complete because the dryer was not working properly. It was loud and needs to be replaced or repaired. The woman was kind and professional. It was completely the fault of the machine that she was not finished.

We were also a little surprised after a previous post, that the pots and pans had not been replaced as indicated by the response of the owner. We did have a hard time cooking because everything stuck to the pans - breakfast was pretty difficult to prepare.

Beautiful area, but house needs improvement.

  • 2 of 5

Overall the house was nice, however it needed some deep cleaning. Our check in time was supposed to be 4:00pm and someone was there cleaning until 4:30pm. I never received a phone call back from Vacasa in regards to my complaint. The house would be much better if they would follow through with cleaning and replacing some of the damaged kitchen items. I would look elsewhere in the area for a place to stay.
