NYC Hell's Kitchen Apartment

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is excellent! Clean, spacious, well appointed and close to the sights. I think the apartment is probably "large" by NYC standards as the size is comparable with apartments in the midwest. The apartment was advertised as a one bedroom but recently the second bedroom was opened up and we were able to stay in the second bedroom. Both beds are full sized (one queen & one king) with nice bedding and sheets. The apartment is on the second floor but street noise was not really an issue, especially in the smaller bedroom off the kitchen. The host met us personally at the apartment upon our arrival to greet us and get us familiar with the area. The host was also excellent with texting us during our stay. He was able to provide restaurant recommendations that were fantastic. The apartment is just a few blocks from Broadway, Times Square, Central Park and a subway station. Everything is just a quick walk. There are a wide variety of restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, convenience stores, etc. all within a block or two. If you are looking for an apartment in a neighborhood that is still close to the tourist sights with access to restaurants/bars with an accommodating host, you have found it! We highly recommend.

The best apartment in Manhatten, hands down

  • 5 of 5

With only 2500 letters to write a review, it is not nearly enough to describe the accommodations. I was always told "location, location, location" and this location did not disappoint. We use this web site for all our accommodations when we travel and this has been the most convenient and comfortable to date. The apartment was perfect and the location again was top notch. The host gave us a quick history (which we loved) and review of the neighborhood and top eating places as well as checked in (via text) the next day to ensure we had everything we needed. The neighborhood is amazing and inspiring. We were close to Time Square and Central Park, all museums and the subway for extended trips. Although everything you could ever want is within walking distance. The Broadway shows are all close. The food options couldn't have been any better, my wife found the spot that had the best Reuben in the world at Georgio's County Grill. A wine and cheese bar is right outside the door for the end of the evenings that you don't want to end. The apartment was the perfect place to start your morning as well as end your day. It was well equipped and comfortable. It felt like you were home. The décor and the memorabilia left you knowing the owners, who felt more like family that you've known for a lifetime.

This city can be exhausting if you let it, but ALWAYS leaves you wanting to come back. This was our second trip to Manhatten and we will definitely be coming back. Our next trip will be scheduled around the availability of this apartment as it is now our home in the city.

I would like to thank our host and hostess who made this trip into an amazing experience and not just another vacation. Thank you so much and we will see you again soon!

Amazing Trip!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to NYC and we had an fabulous time. At the end of each day, we reflected on all the wonderful experiences we had, thinking we sure were lucky getting to our desired destination so easily, finding a particular restaurant so close, etc. Really, we just feel lucky for finding this apartment and having it available during our travel dates. It was the perfect base for all the things we wanted to do.

Our first day, we walked to Central Park and the Natural History Museum. I never dreamed the dinosaur collection would be so large. If you are an astrology fan, you have to go see the Neil deGrasse Tyson special exhibit in the planetarium. Another day, we walked to Broadway to see the Lion King at the Minskoff Theatre. We have wanted to see that for many years and it did not disappoint. The talent was amazing and the costumes and stage production just fabulous. Following the play, we walked around Times Square to see all the lights the walked back to the apartment.

We also we took a boat tour around Manhattan. We were able to walk to the pier from the apartment and enjoyed learning about NYC from the water. Great photos of the Statue of Liberty, Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn Bridge and much more. It was a package deal with a visit to the Empire State Building. We went just before sunset and got daylight, sunset, and night photos. The sunset and night photos are our favorite.

We found many great places to eat within blocks of the apartment. We had a great meal at Empanada Mamas less than a block away. So many choices; try the chili rub or the jerk and cheese. For an unusual appetizer, try the smoked brisket tater tots and and some good beer at the Jolly Monk. There is even a great wine and cheese bar just a few doors down.

We branched out further as well, finding it easy to catch the subway to lower Manhattan to see Wall Street, 9/11 memorial, Trinity Church, etc. We ended up walking to Little Italy, having a great meal and taking the subway back.

Our host was so gracious and a joy to talk to. We felt like family. We received a very nice briefing about the apartment and surrounding area upon check in. We got some great meal suggestions for breakfast and local pizza, and where to buy groceries. We even received a text message as a follow up to make sure everything was meeting our expectation. Everything was very comfortable and the layout worked great for our family. We would love to come back again sometime.

Fantastic Location and apartment.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spent a week in the apartment and we had an absolute blast. So many places to see, just a short walk away. The accommodations were just like being home, so comfortable, with the most amazing decor. Especially if you you are a music lover, which we all are. The hosts are so friendly and helpful, trust me thats the icing on the cake! Stay here, you wont regret it.

Just Perfect

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had wonderful time visiting NYC. This apartment was perfect! It was spacious, comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for our six day stay. The beds were super comfy- I had a hard time getting my family out of bed in the morning! I cannot say enough good things about the host. He was super friendly, accomindating and easy to reach, via text, the few times I reached out. He even checked in with me to make sure all was good. He recommended restaurants in the neighborhood and even told us what to order. We really loved Pure Thai on 9th. We stayed super busy, visiting multiple attractions each day: bike ride in Central Park, concert at Summerstage, Kinky Boots, Empire State Building, crown of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, 911 Memorial Musuem and walking tour, walking food tour in Greenwich Villiage, walked over the Brooklyn Bridge, The High Line, Coney Island, Guggenheim, Natural History Museum... the apartment's central location was perfect for coming back to so we could rest/change clothes before heading out for more. We were able to walk to Times Square, Central Park, The Hirschfeld Theatre and, I think, we nailed the subway system. My husband found a free App, Moovit, that was extremely helpful- just enter where you want to go and it gave options for subway only, bus and subway, and Uber. We were able to relax for a few days after all this on our friend's boat in Long Island. I hope to get back to New York again, sooner than the 19 years it took me to get back this time, and when I do, I will definitely look to stay in this killer apartment again!

May NYC trip

  • 5 of 5

Great host who met us at the apartment and gave us the skinny on everything including how to use Lyft. The apartment was clean with a really comfy bed and furniture and great tv, which hubby appreciated. The very best part of this rental is the location. We were able to walk almost everywhere, Central Park (rickshaw ride super) Times Square (a favorite), Trump Tower, St. Pat's Cathedral (must see) and much more. Circle Line around Manhattan should also be at the top of your list. The Wall St. Experience was so informative even if you don't follow the stock market so much, great guide. #1 on our to do list was the 911 Memorial. We did the 1 1/2 hr. walking tour and combined that with the museum (both will bring you to tears) and the ride to the top on the 102 floor observatory. What a magnificent view of NY when they opened the "walls". Heard so many people catch their breath... The location also was super for getting the essentials, an Amish market very close (good buffet every day to go) and a liquor store, both within 5 min walk. Recommend Georgio's Country Grill (everybody delivers!) and Marilu Pizza, both good and close. Too many superb restaurants in this location to list, but you will be satisfied! Host even was able to help me find a pair of flipflops when I got a blister on my foot from so much walking! Hosts were especially easy to communicate with and so attentive to our needs. A really special trip!
