Southern Hospitality at its best! Fantastic location! Just as described and more...

This townhouse exceeded our expectations! Excellent directions and instructions for locating and entering into the home. Most helpful was the advice regarding parking requirements. We obtained a parking pass on arrival, parked in front of the home, and never moved again until we departed. Excellent location to walk anywhere we wanted to go. Easy walk to River Street and several places of interest. The rooms were tastefully decorated, full of southern charm and charisma, well equipped with everything needed to make our stay a pleasant and enjoyable one. Beds were really comfortable; kitchen well stocked with anything we needed. Appreciated the occasional tourists travelling thru via horse and carriage, "Hearst" or Trolley to view the "Haunted Inn and Restaurant called 17 Hundred 90 across the street". I would like to make one recommendation. The rug at the top of the stairs and on each side of the beds slide easily if walking in a hurry. I would suggest placing non-skid pads underneath to prevent possible injuries. We just took the one at the top of the stairs and moved it out of the way until we departed. Loved this place and will definitely stay again when we return to Savannah.

Southern charm and an outstanding location

  • 5 of 5

When our son and his fiancé decided on a destination wedding in Savannah, we knew immediately that we needed to rent a house that was convenient to the historical district, would comfortably sleep up to 6, and that would provide a setting in which we were proud to entertain family and friends. Badda Bing Boom! (Cold Creek Manor) fit these requirements perfectly. The house is beautifully decorated, and it was spotlessly clean upon our arrival. It is located within walking distance to East Bay St. and River St., and it provided a comfortable, relaxing meeting point for wedding guests before and after the ceremony. I highly recommend this property, and we will contact Southern Belle Vacation Rentals the next time we have an extended stay in Savannah.

Fantastic vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented properties near Orlando many times for family vacations, but this was our first time in a historic house in a downtown location. Parking was so much easier than we expected and the ability to park in any parking lot or any metered spot for $6/day was a bargain. We walked to the Civic Center daily for a dance competition, but we also were within walking distance to Forsyth Park, many beautiful squares, and the wonderful Savannah Theater. If we were going to spend a week in Savannah again, we would definitely return!

What you see is what you get

  • 5 of 5

We had lived in the historic district of Savannah for over 2 years so we are very familiar with the types of homes in this area. EVERY house has been restored at some point, however not all are restored properly. This property was done right! A quality restore. Many times the photos are deceiving and you are disappointed when you get to the property. I have come to expect at least some disappointment, but in this case, the property was actually nicer than I expected. The furniture is high quality and the decorating tasteful and consistent with historic Savannah. Extremely clean also. It appeared to me that this was a B&B at one time. Location is very good. The historic district of Savannah is about one square mile and this property is within about 3-4 blocks of the center.

Wonderful time and we will return!

  • 5 of 5

We had planned a short visit to Savannah before Christmas. Upon arrival, we were thrilled to be in a quite section of Savannah, but very close to all of the attractions/eateries. We were able to park either in front of the property or behind the property with no issues. The home was beautiful and we were very satisfied with the pricing of the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be renting this property again when we visit Savannah. The pictures accurately depicted the property and there were no surprises. Again, we will definitely return! Wonderful experience! Merry Christmas!

Perfect location, great house!

  • 5 of 5

This is really a lovely house with beautiful furnishings and large rooms. We especially enjoyed the sitting room in the master bedroom suite. It was extremely comfortable and very conveniently located. I really can't say enough about how lovely this house is. I would not take young children here, I'd be afraid of what they could do to all the lovely furnishings. It is a great house for adults who can appreciate the care the owners have taken in restoration and furnishings. It's an easy walk to River Street, Oglethorpe Square, Columbia Square and many of the other lovely squares in this town. Once we got the car parked we never had to move it (except to go to Bonaventure Cemetery and Tybee Island)- but note, there is no private parking.

A very minor negative point - it's in such a prime location that tours are coming down the street all the time. This can be very entertaining during the day, but later at night the noise level for the front bedroom can become a bit much - also there is a lot of light coming into the front bedroom at night.

It would have been nice if the rental agency had been more in tune with the parking situation for this particular house. They told us we had to get a parking permit and park in a metered spot or car park, but the home had instructions that there was free parking behind the house, if a space was available. It was very confusing at first. The thing to note if you park on the street (anywhere) check the car every day. We could see the car and knew it was still there, but didn't see the notice on the windshield.. We were happily going about our sightseeing, unaware that they were about to pave the street where the car was parked. We luckily found out about it just before our car would have been towed.

Another thing about the rental agency not being in tune with the house is I asked the rental company where the key to the back gate was, as it would have been more convenient for us to go in and out the back at times. They didn't tell us and we found it as we were tidying up on the last day. The owners might want to leave a note about it in their instructions in the house also.

Overall - this is great and I'd highly recommend it.

Owner's Response: As a property manager one of the hardest things to do is to convince guest to follow our instructions. We will never suggest you attempt to cut any corners that may jeopardize your vacation. When you book a home with us you will find our instructions to be very clear and very helpful and we never have any grey areas that will get you into trouble. In this particular situation the guest choose not to take our advice and buy a parking pass and parked on the street where there are 5 non metered spots behind the house, and with a pass you can park anywhere in Savannah for free and on any of the 100+ parking spots in the direct vicinity of the house without any fear of something happening to your car. I am the person that fixes all items that break at this home, pulls the weeds, takes the photos and handles any situations that come up. i sometimes joke that I know these homes all to well as its a never ending job. We live in Savannah and do this for a living so out of tune is about as far from reality as one can get. If you send in an email late at night with no reference to where you are staying like the guest did and the email says were parked behind the house in the free parking are we ok? You will get the reply they got which is you should move your car so that you may avoid problems. I manage a lot of vacation rentals downtown and some of the homes have places that you will be towed for parking in the wrong spots and guest have been know to do this and call and get upset with me even though we provide accurate instructions on where to park. Sometimes its a lose lose situation such as this one. No matter how hard you try you can't get through to everyone that the information that we supply to you can be important. The guest found a sheet of paper that the owner had left in a drawer that had the words rear gate on them. I had seen the sheet of paper before and tried the key taped to it and tried the key and it doesn't work. After realizing what this guest had found I called her to attempt to correct the accuracy of the review knowing that she had found the key but never tried it and without any luck she was insistent that the review stay the way it was. If your looking for an awesome home in a very desirable area and can follow great instructions and understand that we are giving you advice as to the way we would like to be advised if staying in this home we would love to have you as a guest.
