About Becky Arnold

I am a full time Tahoe resident that takes great pride in my rental homes. Renting homes as both a homeowner and property manager gives me keen insight as to the quality, condition and amenities a renter expects and needs for a stress free vacation! If anything should arise during your stay, you can take comfort in knowing I am just a phone call away.

Becky Arnold purchased this house in 2000

Why Becky Arnold chose Lake Tahoe West Shore CA

As a third generation Tahoe homeowner, I have grown up and now live in Lake Tahoe. When it comes to area location, amenities and ability to get around winter or summer months, I chose this house for all that it offers.

Being just minutes from Tahoe City keeps you close to shopping, dining and all the main road intersections. Located on the west shore, this house enjoys great water for boating and swimming in the summer months. Away from the prevailing winds, little ones wont get knocked down by waves when the afternoon winds tend to batter the north and east shores. Water skiers and wake boarders enjoy glassy conditions and close proximity to some of the best water and bays for enjoying the lake too!

In the winter months, this house is just 5 minutes from Homewood ski area and about 15 minutes away from the larger resorts of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, or Lakeview Cross Country. Ski and bus shuttle service can be accessed just two blocks from the house in a quaint little hamlet of 'Sunnyside' with a country market, bar and three restaurants, bike shop and full service marina. With access to arguably one of the west shore's best homeowners beaches, this house and location are hard to beat. 'Becky's Place' size and gorgeous yard are the reason why I have owned and rented the house to repeat visitors for over 10 years!

What makes this house unique

Hard to find bocce court, brick smoker bbq, gas bbq, hammock, firepit for smores and rock patio. Also, there is a sunny deck, lovely landscaped yard with lawn, meandering rock paths, and a host of perennial flowers and trees to relax by. Inside you will find all the modern comforts with wifi internet, 100+ movie library, high thread count sheets and high end linens, stainless steel kitchen with ice maker and in door water/ice, mutlitple flat screen tvs, dvd players, games. Separate nanny/in law quarters with living/ family room, bedroom, bathroom and washer/dryer!

Well located, well sized, stocked, but....not well maintained

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Becky's place. The good: the rooms were well sized, the kitchen well appointed and stocked, the hot tub nice, and there were lots of games and books. All the main requirements were in place.

The bad: many big and small things simply didn't work, enough such that we won't stay here again unfortunately. These include the furnace that just wouldn't heat the place and so we had to heat it with the fireplace and request space heaters for each room. Becky graciously bought these things but then her companion told us the heater was not working because we had the fireplace on and messing with the thermostat -- patently untrue because it didn't kick in at night either when we had the fireplace on. We froze that first night. The fuses were blown in the kitchen so we had to brew coffee on the floor in the hall -- dangerous when you've got toddlers in the house. Lamps in the livingroom didn't work (not a matter of changing bulbs -- the switch was broken), the light in the upstairs bathroom didn't work so we were in the dark up there. I could go on, but basically between the heat and the power, it felt like too much of a hassle.

Great Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Becky's place was everything we wanted and needed for our weekend trip! The cabin was very homey and the christmas tree was a great touch. I will definitely look into Becky's place for any other return to Tahoe.

Great location

  • 4 of 5

The home was cozy, welcoming and well stocked with everything we needed. We had some minor fix-it issues, but overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The layout of the home is a bit odd, but it was clean and had plenty of sleeping space. Very quiet location, with a fabulous front deck where we enjoyed reading, visiting, and just sitting in the peaceful pines. We walked to the nearby private beach, pier and playground...what a fantastic set up!

Relaxing family weekend

  • 5 of 5

We loved the location, the grassy lawn, the well stocked kitchen. We stayed with our 2 kids ages one and four, along with my parents and we all had more than enough room to spread out.

Great house for family get-a-way

  • 5 of 5

This house has been recently remodeled and is very comfortable. Our whole family met at the house (7 and a baby) and just started having great times. The lake is easy walking distance from the house with access to the home owners private recreation center -very cool! The west shore of Tahoe is beautiful with many hiking, biking and walking trails. The house is represented very well in the photos - looks just like the pictures. We used the backyard bocce court and sitting area each night. Cooked in the kitchen, played games, watched movies and had a wonderful time. West Shore is the best! The owner is extremely nice and very helpful. She is Tahoe local and full of information. We will be going back to again soon! If you want a great Tahoe experience with your family - this is the place.
