Our family went to Oahu for a holiday and we wanted to stay outside of Honolulu. This was the perfect place. We were a family of 5, but this place could easily accommodate a larger family or even two families. There are 2 floors with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (actually the main floor has 3 bathrooms) each. There is a living room downstairs and upstairs, and a deck on each floor. You really can find space to yourself and space for everyone to gather. The kitchen is on the main floor and is well equipped.
The view, oh my gosh, the view - amazing. I really can't say how wonderful it is. The house is also very close to Laie Point, which is a wonderful place to watch the Sunrise.
The location is good (if you want to be outside of Honolulu), because it is easy traveling is pretty easy to other places on the island.
VR was wonderful to work with. I highly recommend this house for your stay on Oahu.
Our family traveled to Laie for our daughter's wedding. We enjoyed staying in VR's home. It was so spacious and accommodating for all nine of us. There was plenty of space in the living areas. There were so many rooms that one could sneak away and find alone time or just congregate all together. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and the furnishings in the entire house were very nice. There were plenty of pots, pans, dishes, glasses, utensils, etc. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The deck and views were absolutely outstanding.
The grandkids loved playing on the deck and in the yard. They also enjoyed all the equipment that VR has made available for guest use.
The location was outstanding and was very close to many sites and amenities in the area.
We would love to return in the future.
Thank you, VR!
The house is beautiful and spacious and is at a beautiful location. The ocean view from the balcony is breathtaking. It is a great place for a family vacation or get-together. The house is a little old so there are a few things that may need some updating or fixing. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and was very happy with the beautiful home.
My wife and I went looking for a place that we could have our off-island ohana stay for our wedding. We also needed a location to hold our intimate wedding reception. We were faced with lots of options in the Laie area. VR’s home stood out above the rest. A clean, well kept home near the end of the point with plenty of space for our two families to come together yet have their own privacy. We live on island so when we spoke with VR and he graciously invited us to come tour his home. It was everything we were looking for. VR was extremely helpful when it came to planning for our event. When we needed to take pictures so we could plan the decor he happily arranged a viewing for us. While we were taking note of the dinnerwares we noticed that we would need to rent a set for the reception. When we mentioned this to VR he offered to buy the necessary plates for the house, just in-time for our reception dinner. It was a combination of VR’s hospitality and kindness that turned a great weekend into an amazing one. We spent our time enjoying the sound of waves crashing on the rocks below, the nearby beach that was only a short walk away; and when it came time for our wedding it all came together. We had chosen a personal chef prepare our gourmet meals in-house, thats how big the kitchen is. We enjoyed dinner on the lanai looking out over a gorgeous sunset and rainbow combo. I didn’t believe it could get any better. That was before the wedding moved upstair into the truly grand hall for some live music and dancing. The acoustics and the ambiance made this intimate merging of families into an experience that none of us will ever forget. Mahalo nui loa for everything!
This home was perfect for our group as we came in for five days. Large kitchen with everything you need. Two decks for big wave viewing and the iconic hole in the rock. Definitely not cramped at all as the bedrooms are huge. I miss the sound of the waves already.
For being considered "in the country", we had a grocery store very close and tons of local eating spots to choose from. The famous shrimp trucks are down the road and North Shore surfing just a bit past that.
The owner checked in on us a few times and was great to work with.
The home is very spacious. With 4 master bedrooms and 2 living rooms and so much space between them in every direction. We had 3 small children and the extra space was much appreciated both when they were awake and could move around without being prohibited and that when one was down for nap there was still plenty of space away from that room. Each of our 3 families found that they could have their own personal time but still be right there with the group.
We really enjoyed watching the north shore waves from the back deck and getting the direct wind off the ocean. We marveled at the close walk to the state park at the end of the peninsula the 200yard walk to the sandy beach to play on, the 1/2 mile walk or drive to the grocery store and a small strip mall including the theatre for the day it stormed and a mere 5 min drive to the Polenisian Cultural Center. The home was also a great spot to explore from. We drove south 1 Jr. And hiked diamond Head and traveled 15-45 min north depending on what beach and or food truck we were seeking that particular day. Our favorite snorkel spots were 15 min north to Turtle bay and about 35 min north to Sharks cove.
I haven't even mentioned how nice and helpful the owner was to call and just check in that all was well. We called one day with a beach question and he graciously answered and gave more advise that helped us find our favorite Thai place up by sharks cove. We went back for a second lunch it was that good.
All in all it was fabulous.
Polynesian Cultural Center is walking distance from this property. Soak the Polynesian culture to its fullest, observe basket weavers in action or learn the art of making a Tapas. Enjoy a Luau while watching the sun set over the Pacific Ocean.
The Laie Hawaii temple is also must see for its architecture beauty and elegance.
At the end of an exciting day come home to the deck and relax to the soothing sounds of the waves or jump on the thread mill or exercise bike (provided by home owner) and call it a night.
