About Amy Abbott

My husband Randy and I are both Pharmacists and have always loved coming to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

We started coming here together when we first started dating at the University of Kentucky's College of Pharmacy.

We now live on a small hobby horse farm in western Kentucky where we are raising our 2 daughters. We have 8 horses, 1 goat, 2 pigs,4 peacocks, and many types of chickens. We also have 5 dogs.

Our family likes to do many things together in the great outdoors.Horseback riding, hiking and our new found interest, thanks to the national park, fly fishing!

Amy Abbott purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Amy Abbott chose East

This is the third cabin in the Happy Trails Log Cabin Family. When this cabin became available right next door to our first cabin we just knew we had to buy it! The convenience of having all 3 of our cabins within 'yelling' distance makes it so easy on us to manage and fun to use!

What makes this cabin unique

I love this cabin for many reasons. The back porch view of Mt Leconte!, the extra half bath on the main floor, the log furniture, the level parking, the picnic table on the back porch, and ........

Guestbook comments from the owner

- Happy Trails II Log Cabin in Bear Creek Crossing

I am a thrifty person from Knoxville TN. I like a bargain and I don't like touristy, cheap attractions. If you are looking for an amazing, family friendly, clean, perfect cabin with a beautiful view, look no further. My children loved the loft with the Wii, pool table, indoor pool, and jacuzzi. And the beds were so soft and the decorations were so cute! We cooked out, made s'mores, and just sat back on the porch and enjoyed the mountain air and the view. The owners of the cabin were beyond accommodatingI'm in dads car! Everything you would ever need to feel like home is right here waiting for you at Happy Trails II. Look no further ... This is the cabin you want!!! We will be back soon!

LOVE!!

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed in these cabins several times before and refuse to stay anywhere else. I KNOW that, EVERY time, the cabin will be clean, comfortable, and well stocked with whatever I need to cook, snack, or drink. No matter the weather, the porch is THE place to be with your morning cup of coffee--I've been there in sun, rain, and snow!! Speaking of snow, the resort does a great job of maintaining the roads--when I stayed in January after five inches of snow that day, I had no trouble reaching the cabin that evening after taking my grandkids to the aquarium (they loved it!).

I apprciate that we are so close to the Parkway with all of it's restaurants, attractions, and shops, but especially appreciate the "back way" to reach Cades Cove, Tremont, or Metcalf Bottoms for hiking or picnicking (or fishing--just ask the owners about that!).

If you choose Happy Trails 1 or 2 or Across the Trail, you won't be disappointed!

Quality Cabin Experience

  • 5 of 5

I loved my stay at Happy Trails II! The cabin is well equipped with everything one could want for a wonderful and relaxed weekend. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and dishes, the bathrooms are good sized and clean, and all furniture is high quality. I slept on one of the twin beds and it was very comfortable. The location is very convenient to the national park, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. Other cabins I have stayed at were difficult to get to on steep, curvy, roads with big drop offs. This community's roads are wide and easily navigable ( not scary ). I highly recommend friends to stay here and look forward to returning.

We loved our stay at your cabin! It was beautifully decorated, clean, and had a great view. My kids loved the upstairs loft for game time. The pool was amazing too...loved the waterfall backdrop. Can't wait to go back next year!

Really Nice Cabin w/ Updated electronics throughout

  • 5 of 5

Cabin Was very clean and well maintained and contained everything needed from kitchen items like toaster, keurig, Pots and pans and everything you would normally expect to find at home. Electronics throughout the house are updated which allowed us to stream movies from laptop and surround sound was a nice touch. The trees have grown up around the deck to give a feeling of seclusion. The views wouldn't have been spectacular if the trees had been trimmed although there was a view of the resort homes and a little bit of the far away mountains. Grill worked and was a first for us so that was nice. Did not use the fireplace. Pool Table was nice; Foosball table was cheap but would be ok for kids( would rather have seen air hockey or standalone video game machine instead). No Complaints at all we had a really nice stay.

Amy was great in working with us with any needs and questions before and during our stay and that is what makes this a Great Cabin to rent. Would stay here again. Thanks Amy for everything.
