Great place for a Rehoboth visit
The Little Cottage proved to be an excellent accommodation for our first visit to Rehoboth Beach. Our group of three adults made frequent walks into the busy part of town for the beach, nice restaurants, and a little shopping. Always glad to return to a very quiet retreat in the cottage. The cottage was equipped for our needs including a nice surprise of a bicycle (which allowed the early riser among us to go out and wheel around without having to rent a bike).
The cottage was clean and I appreciated the fact that a cleaning service actually moved the trash can to and from the curb on pick up days. We didn't have to worry about timing it.
The cottage is in a residential neighborhood, very quiet. It was an easy drive to Route 1 and the busy outlet mall and other shopping centers. Which made it nice for one rainy day when we ventured out to see a movie.
I would definitely book this cottage again for our next visit.
Darling little beach house
Really just a fantastic little cottage -- we enjoyed the amenities -- bicycles, (bookshelf stocked with beach reading), beach chairs and umbrellas, board games, walking access to everything in Rehoboth. I couldn't figure out how to use the TV remote but it was NBD for us as we watch everything on iPads anyway. Once communication with our pleasant and friendly host got squared away, we were all set up for the easiest vacation ever. The parking pass was a big help! We loved the outdoor shower with piping hot water, because we went to the beach daily until the last few days of our stay. Once the rain started (and it rained nonstop for a while), the house got pretty humid and a bit on the musty side, and we couldn't even use the A/C as a makeshift dehumidifier since it was quite chilly already in the cool rain and cloudy days.
However -- it was overall a lovely, quiet little place for us to enjoy a long lazy vacation, with many nights in a row of solid sleep!
Great family vacation
We had a great family vacation! The Little Cottage was exactly as described in the vrbo listing. The owner is very nice and responsive!
Well-Equipped Little Cottage in Good Location
We stayed at The Little Cottage in July 2017. For less than the price of a hotel per night, we got a traditional Rehoboth beach house with 2 small bedrooms (with minimal but adequate storage), both with queen beds, a well-lit and comfortably appointed living/dining room, a bathroom, a large kitchen, a private laundry room, and a converted garage in which to store bikes, kayaks, outdoor chairs, wet towels, etc. There is also a "loft" that's really an enclosed attic, with three twin beds in it, and an A/C, accessed with pull-down stairs in the kitchen; kids might enjoy it, most adults would not, and the stairs are a bit in the way when extended into the kitchen. And there is an outdoor shower, which I didn't use but spouse did and said it was roomy. The location, parking, and wi-fi are all excellent.
Details: Kitchen: well-stocked with cooking equipment, utensils, glasses , plates & bowls, spices, dishtowels, dishwasher, microwave, coffee makers and other little appliances, toaster/convection oven, household tools and things like tape, pens, etc.
Living/Dining: many lighting sources (besides sunlight, which windows on 3 sides let in), some games, cards, candles, and other handy items. Sofas and chairs are comfortable. Dining table roomy.
Bathroom: small but has a full-sized tub/shower with good water pressure and ample storage above the toilet. Make sure (as the little paper sign says) to unplug the A/C in the bedrooms before plugging in blow dryer!
(Downstairs) Bedrooms: Both small but serviceable, with windows to the backyard (and other cottages) and A/Cs. There aren't many plugs in the bedrooms but extension cords with multiple additional outlets were available, which was handy. One bedroom had a roomier closet (actually 2 closets) than the other one, but the other one had 2 nightstands beside the bed.
Wi-Fi: worked perfectly for both our phones and laptops, which was critical for us.
Laundry Room: full-sized washer and dryer, private (no one else uses it).
There are outdoor chairs available but they were musty and we were glad we had brought our own. (The rest of the house was not at all musty, though, contrary to some reviews I had seen here.)
Location: Great, a block or two off Rehoboth Ave, behind Grub's grocery, and perhaps a 15-min. pleasant walk (or 5-min. bike ride) to the beach. The parking is great, with a spot in the driveway and a tag for non-metered spots anywhere.
We'd stay here again!
Loved the house. Close to everything.
It is a little bit of a walk to the beach and boardwalk but we did it twice a day every day with only a little whining from the teenagers:)
Very quaint, provided all the necessities for a relaxing vacation.
Located approximately 5 blocks from the boardwalk, this property allowed you to walk to the activities or take a few minute drive. The little cottage is a charming roomy place to stay and the outside shower and garage space was a bonus. My girls loved the loft bedroom. We did not notice any musty smell in the house as mentioned in previous reviews.
