The property features the main 2 bedroom, 1 bath cedar home (1,064 sq ft/99 m2) with fully screened covered sun porch and wrap-around deck, and 2 adjacent cozy guest cabins. (Sleeps 8-9 people). A private hiking trail loops its way through the property and offers guests a convenient choice for exercising, walking their dog, or just a relaxing walk to observe the wildlife in the forest. Distant from any traffic noise, a more relaxing time would be hard to find. The ideal setting for a relaxing weekend away from the stress of life in the city or as a base camp to explore the beautiful hiking paths and mountains of the Olympic National Forest.

About Jochen Liesche
Hi, my name is Jochen and I am the owner of Landhaus Quilcene. Originally from Germany, I have called the Seattle area home for over twenty years now. I have created this private forest retreat for my family and friends in the German Landhaus ('country house') tradition. When time allows, we come here to relax, talk, play games, sit by the fire, watch a movie, go hiking, explore nearby towns, and, above all, forget the stress of the work week. Since my family and I are using the Landhaus frequently ourselves, we have taken great care of maintaining and decorating it to make everyone feel welcome and create a great experience in the country.

Everybody who has stayed here always had a great time and mentions how relaxed they felt afterwards due to the serene forest setting and fresh air. Many of our guests have come back year after year and our guest book is full with nothing but compliments and people's fond memories of the time they spent here.
What makes this Cabin unique
All guests love our screened and covered sun porch that allows them to sit outside and enjoy the nature views of the surrounding forest and Dabob valley even if it should rain. A quartz heater provides warmth outside when the temperatures drop. The two adjacent heated guest cabins are very cozy and afford their residents a lot of privacy while being only steps away from the main house.

Full of character, the owner had attended to every detail. Totally private, totally quiet and serene..... A true cabin the woods. It was clean enough but could use a deep clean and also some fresh paint here and there. The blinds were also a little tough to open and close. The mattresses were about a 6 out of 10 as far as comfort. But for the price I felt this was fair and expected. I'm used to staying at much more expensive rentals and this was still quite comfortable and nice. I would definitely go back.
Great place to chill after exploring the Olympic Peninsula near and far
Greetings! Landhaus Quilcence is a quaint little place situated in the eastern part of Washington's Olympic Peninsula. Though not located in or at the boundary of Olympic National Park, it is close enough to explore most park attractions with a little additional travel. The drives are pleasant and smooth-flowing, and so not an impediment to a short or long OP vacay. We were able to explore Port Townsend, Port Angeles, Sequim (a pleasant surprise), Lake Crescent, the Hoh Rain Forest, Sol Duc Hot Springs, and several nearby water falls without difficulty during our three-day stay.
The real upside of Landhaus Q is the quiet, serene, and private surroundings. In fact, the cabin and woods are so quiet that you might feel as though you have "fallen off the grid." The main cabin is rustic yet comfortable, and Jochen has included many small "extras" to make your stay hassle free. The fully-featured kitchen and laundry were especially helpful. The toaster didn't work at first, but did so after I dug a number of small toast-wanna-be's out of the bottom. All other appliances were safe and functional. Here's a tip...there is a TV/BluRay combo in the living room (no cable), and you might want to bring along a few of your favorite BluRay/DVD movies for some evening downtime. The DSL WiFi is adequate for most personal and business needs but would struggle with streaming services.
One small drawback with the cabin is that the front is south-facing and sun-filled, so might get a little warm in July-August. There are ample fans and windows to pull in cooler air, though, and the three-season porch off to the side offers shaded lounging. The double (or queen) beds in the two main bedrooms are on the firm side, so if you like plush then you might want to bring along a mattress topper if space is not an issue. There are also two free-standing "tiny house" bedroom suites that were quite cozy, which would be a big bonus for large parties. So whether your plans are "slow 'n low" or "on the go," the Landhaus Quilcene is a great Rally Site for all your Olympic Penninsula activities.
p.s. If you happen to be in Port Angeles around lunch or dinner time and you like Mexican food, then check out Fiesta Jalisco at 636 E. Front Street...best Mexican fare I've had since stumbling onto a great little diner in Cheyenne, WY while on the way to Alta, UT for a little "Honeymooning" twenty-five years ago. So, yeah, it was really good.

We had a great time in this home. Jochen was wonderful at addressing our questions before our stay. The house was well equipped with most everything you could need and comfortable. Although all the bedding and towels were clean (thankfully!) Some of the dishes were not clean so we washed everything before we used it and the bedrooms could use a good cleaning. All in all, we would go back and we do recommend this home. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your home!

The "cabins" are a little strange; my group didn't see the point of the two cabins, but we enjoyed our time at this home and appreciated the comfort, the decor, the forest setting

We had a wonderful time at the ' Landhaus' !!! It was clean and had everything in the kitchen that was needed. We loved sitting outside in the yard around a fire in the evenings and my adult children enjoyed their privacy in the two little cabins. Thank you so much for the great communication beforehand. We would definetely like to come back again :)
Fun and beautiful cabin in an amazing area!
Our whole family enjoyed staying here. My sister kept saying “what a great find” and it was. We were staying here for a relative’s wedding so we wish we could have enjoyed the beautiful area more but it was so clean and well stocked of everything we needed for our trip. We hope to come back and stay in this cabin again!
