Beautiful Letting in Brittas Bay
Gorgeous property in lovely location 5 minute walk from the beach. Communication with the owner Clodagh was great if we had an issue she rectified it straight away. There was an issue with the plumbing as the sink was draining slowly, but the next day the plumber was there fixing it. The upstairs bathroom was locked when we arrived for a couple of days until we contacted Clodagh who asked the caretaker, Karl to unlock the door. We would have been disappointed if we didn’t have the use of the upstairs bathroom facilities as we had elderly parents staying with us. We were originally advised that the shower leaked and asked not to use it, but we didn’t expect the bathroom to be locked. However, this was rectified straight away. We did have to wash crockery when we arrived as there was cereal and food on them from previous guests about 4 bowls down from the top and the cleanliness wasn’t up to scratch when we got there so that’s why we’ve only given 3 stars for that and there were marks on the shower screen too as if it hadn’t been touched. However we did not mention this to Clodagh as we thought it would be petty and it didn’t affect our stay. I’m sure if we had complained she would have dealt with it.
Gorgeous trimmed garden with loads of room for kids to play. Lots of balls and play activities provided which saved us buying them. Perfect holiday. Only downside was the shocking electricity bill, 140 euros for a weeks worth of electricity for 6 of us! Thought we were supplying the whole estate with electricity at that price. We only use that in 2 months in England. We did ask Clodagh to look into it for us, but she must have forgotten to get back to us. Don’t let that put you off though just get showered at the beach during your holiday ha ha! Amazing holiday we miss the house so much even though there were a couple of hiccups!
Home from Home
Stayed Easter week with family, both sets of grandparents & dog. The property had great internal and external space for all including decking and back garden. Very well equipped with everything we needed. The only negative was the freely accessible on-site games room had been vandalised over time and needs upgrading with control measures put in place.
The booking process was painless and Clodagh, the owner could not do more to make our stay enjoyable - even arranging a new replacement for the faulty toaster when we hadn't requested one!
Great place to stay - to explore the beautiful surrounding area including 4km beach within short walking distance.
Excellent location and fantastic property.
If you are looking for a quiet and secure property, in a fantastic location, this is perfect. Short drive from Arklow and Wicklow with everything you could possibly need. Will certainly head back there time and time again.
The owner was very responsive with questions and clarifications. Overall a fantastic week for the family.
Perfect relaxation spot
Clodagh's place was perfect for us, spacious, comfortable, clean and within 40 mins drive of most key sights in the local area (e.g. Powerscourt, Glendalough, Avoca). The garden is big and would be a nice safe space for kids to play in. The beautiful beach is 3 mins drive away but you could walk it. Great for seal spotting! The Bay cafe is well worth a visit - we got more cakes from there than we should have!
This property was just beautiful!!! It was very tastefully decorated and had everything we needed!
We absolutely LOVED our stay at Brittas Bay!!!! This gated community is nestled out in the country side just a 5 minute walk away from the beach! We had 4 adults and a baby and MORE than enough room. We were welcomed with a lovely bottle of wine and complimentary log for the wood burning stove. There were maps and plenty of guides to help us decided what we wanted to see and do (ASIDE FROM THAT BEAUTIFUL BEACH) A beautiful wrap around deck to enjoy your morning cup of coffee/tea. We literally unpacked our suitecases and groceries and settled in!! We will be returning annually and will look forward to another stay at Brittas Bay!!!!!
Very comfortable stay
Stayed here for a week. Four adults and a dog. The location is very good - close to the beach and close to N11 main road. The living space was very adequate with plenty of space for sitting and eating and the property sits in nice garden, mostly grass. Bedrooms and bathrooms were adequate if a little dated. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much and it was very good value.
There is so much to do around Brittas Bay. Glendalough is a beautiful lake resort with wondeful scenery and walks. The beach is a 5 minute walk away. Arklow Town is 10 mins by car and hosts a full range of amentities shopping centres and cinema etc. Wicklow town is 10 mins away and has great restaurants, a leisure plex for kids and a pool. The real charm of Brittas however is that it is only 45 minutes by car to Dublin City where there are a host of museums, and a vast array of tourist attractions. The discerning tourist can combine a city break with a coastal one by basing themsleves in this lovely irish cottage.
