Overview

About the property

Waterfront home with 1 Bedroom, sleeping loft, guest cabin, and private dock

This newly constructed waterfront home and guest cabin is located on the Angel Island channel of Bull Lake, in Northwest Montana. We are located two and a half hours northeast of Spokane, WA, one hour east of Sandpoint, ID, and two hours west of Kalispell, MT.

With your own private dock, you have access from the channel to 5 mile long Bull Lake, which rests between the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness Area and the Scotchman peaks on the border of Montana and Idaho. The Channel is 50 foot wide and allows access from your private dock to the lake. Besides the unmatched scenery, the main lake is perfect for swimming, water skiing, kayaking, canoeing, and offers some of the best variety of fishing in Montana.

Hike the nearby Ross Creek Cedars and experience an old growth forest firsthand, or head up into the Cabinet Mountains where Alpine Lakes, glaciers and wildlife abound. 18 miles away the Kootenai Falls are a must see for everyone.

The nearby Yaak River and the Kootenai Falls are both destinations for milder site-seeing trips, or extreme whitewater Rafting & Kayaking.

For those who are hunters,we are surrounded by some of the most accessible public lands in Montana. Elk, Bear, And Deer abound, and we are located in a premier location for all outdoor enthusiasts.

As winter arrives we are only an hour from Schweitzer Mountain, near Sandpoint, ID, Two and a half hours from Whitefish Mountain, in Whitefish, MT, And just over an hour to Turner Mountain, near Libby, MT. There are numerous snowmobile trails in the area, including the Keeler, Spar Lake, and Spruce Lake Trails. Deep powder and wide open basins await at the end of the trails for the more advanced riders.

This home, is situated at the top of a large lawn, that gently slopes down to the Channel on Bull Lake. Beyond the channel is a view of Cabinet Mountains. The home includes 2 bedrooms, one of which is a very large loft that sleeps 6 as couples, and the other is the master bedroom. The Living Room has a sofa sleeper for 2 as a couple. 3 bathrooms, one with a double vanity & Tub/Shower, 1 with a shower, & 1 Outdoors (Summertime Only) that is fully plumbed. A Living Room, Dining Area, and fully furnished Kitchen, open to a Cathedral Ceiling highlighted with logs and natural wood trim. The laundry room includes Washer, & Dryer. Off the Kitchen is a cedar deck with unmatched views and below is a covered patio surrounded by a wall of river rock. The guest cabin includes a day bed, which is 2 singles, and a loft that will sleep 2 kids or 1 adult comfortably.

The channel offers access to the lake and includes a private dock. Later in the summer it can get shallow. Power Boats can always get in and out but as the water gets lower care must be taken. Most years the water stays high until the 4th of July and then starts to recede. Outboard motors have no problem all year. IO's still work with more care needed to be taken. True inboards,as on many wakeboard boats, may want to keep their boat at the marina at no cost, or trailer at night once the water gets lower.

About Marc and Debbie Zahner

Marc and Debbie Zahner work and have lived in the area for a long time. They built the house and cabin in 2012. They landscaped around the property and sloped the lawn with new trees, a fire pit and a private dock

Marc and Debbie Zahner purchased this house in 2012

Why Marc and Debbie Zahner chose Glacier Country

We both have lived and worked in western Montana for Thirty years, so we know the people in the area and on the island and are familiar what the northwest has to offer vacationers for recreation, comfort and relazation.

What makes this house unique

We chose this property because of the access to the entire lake, the view of the beautiful Cabinet Mountains, and the northwest areas with its waterfalls, hiking, fishing and ski areas.

Great House and Wonderful People

  • 5 of 5

This house & cabin are awesome and Marc and Debbie are to be commended for the thoughtfulness! This was our annual "Girl Trip" and we had a very relaxing and peaceful time at the house and at the beach. Everything was well stocked and thought out in advance. We've been doing this trip for over 30 years and this is the first time we have not had to call the owners for some little (or big) thing that was needed. I would recommend this property to all - groups and families alike!

Great space for a staff retreat

  • 5 of 5

My staff and I headed to this great space for a working retreat, and it worked out really well. Marc was great to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. He even had purchased a gas fire pit because of the burn ban that was in place.

We had all the space we needed and the access to the water toys made for some great breaks in the day. I would recommend this hands down!

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay! The house had everything we needed and luckily for us it was pet friendly. The house met all of our needs and the hosts even offered to bring us out on their house boat, they were amazingly friendly to work with. We wouldn't hesitate to rent this place again. For those of you who bring dogs just be aware that the water access on the property is Mucky for dogs and we had to hose them off a few times that they snuck in. The place has an amazing view and we lovedthat we had access to the beach on the island to go swimming. Thanks for having us!

We had a wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for us. We found it very clean and well stocked with toys and other household items. The owners were gracious and very communicative. The house is in the perfect place for fun - just off the channel to the main lake so lake access was easy. We definitely want to come back and would rent this cabin again if/when we do. We also have other friends in MT(we're from CA) to which we have recommended this cabin.

Perfect weekend!

  • 5 of 5

The house, lake, fun water toys, and views of the lake and mountains are all wonderful. We loved our visit there and our kids had a blast. There was so much space in the house! We had 4 kids and 2 adults and there was space for more! The fully stocked kitchen was a great extra for meal prep.
