About Douglas Liverman and Kimberly Cox
My name is Doug Liverman. I live in Ahoskie NC. Ahoskie is about 25 minutes away from the cabin. The cabin was built basically to have more room when we (Kim and I ) would have all the family down for holiday weekends. It started out as just a square box shape and turned into what it is today. It is about 800 square feet sitting on a hillside just off the Chowan River in Bertie County N.C. It is pattern after a one hundred year old cabin that Kim, my girlfriend, found in a Sportsman magazine at a dentist office. Kim got me phone numbers and I called until I found the people who own the original one which is over a hunderd years old and much more rustic. We added a kitchen and a few other features to ours to make it what it is. A nice little cozy cabin on a hillside where it fits perfect over looking a pond in a quiet little area on the river. You can walk from the cabin to the pier on the river and never touch the ground. It is great for exercise if you are looking for that. As for myself I own a small business in Ahoskie and Kim is a nurse at the local hospital. There is a larger log home on the property which I try to spend as much time in as I possibly can. If you come and visit you will understand why.

Why Douglas Liverman and Kimberly Cox chose Edenton
Mainly for the view. When I was sixteen my buddy and I would go down to this place and hang out, at that time it belonged to his grandparents. I would watch him and a friend of ours jump off a cliff that used to be in front of the main house. The crazy things we will do when we are young . I never knew that someday I would actually have a house on the same lot. The view is beautiful and breathtaking especially on a moon lite night or an early morning sunrise.
What makes this Cabin unique
The view and location is great and it is very quaint and peaceful. If you are looking for a quiet week or weekend it's worth the trip. You can see deer running around, you can feed the ducks in the nearby pond, watch the rabbits run by, or maybe if you are lucky you may see a bald eagle fly. There are nice restaurants in the area that you can visit by land or river. Just one problem if you go by river you will need a boat, so if you have one you might want to bring it unless you luck up and Kim and I are around and hungry. There is some shopping a few miles away, a movie theater, and some historical viewing if you like things like that. It is small town shopping no W-marts. The nearest one is about 25 minutes away. The cabin does have a deck on the back with a fire pit, gas grill, and a screened in porch. There is a front porch with old timer rockers and a small table for early morning coffee. It has a microwave, also a coffee maker for the coffee lovers. The bathroom has a walk in shower but no tub, in the kitchen there is an oven, stove, and fridge.Jets skies and fishing boats are not available but there will be a paddle boat, small john boat with trolling motor for someone who may want to fish. Canoe or kayak and fishing reels will be available for daily rental. If there is a special occasion please let us know we will be more than willing to help. Check in time is at 3:00 PM, check out is at 11:00 AM.

We decided to take a last minute mini vacation at this cabin and it was great. We spent most of our time fishing, crabbing, and kayaking. We caught around 10 catfish that were big enough to keep. This was my second time at the cabin and my husband's first. He was just as impressed as I was on my first stay. We would definitely return in the future.
Nice vacationing area.
Such a great place to stay! So secluded and quiet.
We really enjoyed the quiet escape. The hand crafted home was the perfect size and made us feel like we were no longer in the same state. We loved swimming and hanging out at the dock.
Enjoyed stay at the little cabin on the hillside!
Wonderful overnight getaway! Owner was very responsive! Would definitely stay again!
As advertised. Small, quality built cabin with all the amenities. Doug was responsive to our needs.
As advertised. Small, quality built cabin with all the amenities. Doug was responsive to our needs. We fished, beach combed, swam, & sunned. I would recommend this to potential guests.
Great little hideaway
The cabin was perfect for 2 people, it is on the small side yet super cozy. There is fishing nearby on the dock, however, to really enjoy the water especially if you want to swim, plan to rent the boat for the day so you can get out away from the shore. You won't want to swim near the shore. If you have paddle boards bring them as it would be perfect water to paddle board in. There are kayaks you can rent as well. Cell phone reception is minimal so bring lots of things to do. Really neat place, restaurants are about a half an hour away so plan on stopping at a grocery store along your route and stock up for your stay. If secluded is what you want, this is it!
Boat landing for launching boats and jet skis.
