Glen Haven Cabin on Fox Creek

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,200 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 3 - 5 nights

About the property

3 bedroom, 1 bath 7 miles from the hustle and bustle of Estes Park.

Hand-built cabin in the midst of the tall trees of Roosevelt National Forest features 3 bedrooms with king, queen and full size beds. The large bathroom has a walk-in shower. Washer and dryer downstairs is just off the fireplace alcove. The well appointed kitchen has everything you'll need to cook your meals when you're not BBQ'ing on the gas grill by the picnic table. There is parking enough for 2 cars.

While the cabin suffered no damage in the September flooding, the town of Glen Haven was mostly destroyed. The road up to Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park is fine and should have no, or only very minimal delays.

About Sue Mills

John hand-built this comfortable cabin over 20 years time by laying each stone and log with care. You appreciate his devotion to his craft from the moment you walk through the door.

Sue Mills purchased this cabin in 1980

Why Sue Mills chose Front Range

Glen Haven is a special place. The folks around here keep a slower pace in order to savor the delights of abundant wildlife, both fauna and flora.

What makes this cabin unique

It's so quiet here. You will enjoy the sounds of the babbling brook just outside through the open window, or from the deck that runs along three sides of the cabin. When you grill up your supper on the gas grill, don't be surprised if our fox shows up to politely wait for a hand out, too!

Wonderful Rustic Cabin

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful Cabin with lovey sound of rustling creek running below it. Wish we were able to bring our dog on this trip as he would have loved it. Great accommodations for a large family or 3 couples. The only issue we had was spotty Wi-Fi. Unfortunately (for us), we need to stay in touch with our work while away. One other question was responded to right away by John who is an awesome and very funny guy.

Really nice place to stay.

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed the cabin. It was very clean. The kitchen was very well equipped. It was nice that we didnt have to go shopping for all the little things like paper towels, spices, ect.

The bed in the master bedroom was great...slept like a rock.

We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning and watching the amazing stars in the evening.

The ride to Estes Park was shorter than anticipated (10min), which was perfect. Just far enough away from all the tourist traffic, but still very convenient. Just watch out for the elk and turkeys out there.

I had excellent communication with Sue, she was very prompt to emails and even offered to leave work early to help me with a question I had.

Overall, a really pleasant experience. I will visit again.

Thanks Sue,

Relaxing, peaceful atmosphere!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here in May. Yes, it is true you can see the neighbors but that was no issue. The cabin is nestled among many trees and the creek runs literally right below the property so you still get the feeling of being "out in the woods." The highlight of our stay was sitting out on the deck or patio and just enjoying the nature surrounding the cabin. Great place for bird watching! Sue was very helpful in providing directions to us. The cabin was very clean and spacious, and had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely consider staying here again. If you are looking for a home away from home in the woods near the Rockies, this is the perfect spot!

Peaceful and remote

  • 4 of 5

The quaint, and clean log cabin nestled in the woods with two streams running nearby made for a very relaxing vacation. Easy drive into Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. Great service provided by the property management personnel. Great area for viewing wildlife. The few days spent here were clearly a highlight of our two week tour of Colorado!

Close to hiking trails and Estes Park

  • 5 of 5

We stayed with our small dog at this cabin in the woods. At first, I was disappointed that it was not more isolated. You can see neighbors from any window. But we got used to it and it was close to all the things we wanted to do. We enjoyed the fast wireless internet and the comfortable furniture. I appreciated the well-stocked kitchen. It's impossible to know what spices you will need and the kitchen had just about any you would want along with other staples. We toured RMNP with our dog, Molly, since they don't allow dogs on the trails. We found many trails close to the cabin where we did hike with Molly. Our favorite though was near Fort Collins where we hiked on the prarie. I would recommend this cabin for families and anyone wanting to explore Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park.
