This property is situated in Almunecar on the Costa Tropical. Boasting a warm climate throughout the year, it is a vacation destination even for Spaniards living in the north of Spain. A breath-taking view of the Mediterranean Sea from one of the two balconies in this beautiful two bedroom apartment lends itself to relaxing breakfasts and intimate afternoon cocktails.Located in a gated community this property has two beautiful swimming pools and the #1 rated restaurant in the region, 'El Arbol Blanco'
The town is a five minute walk and provides vacationers with all amenities as well as plenty of opportunities to enjoy the sites and history of this ancient coastal town.
Located nearby, Venta Lucianna is a unique experience well worth a visit. This renown restaurant provides guests with an exterior dining experience. Huge wood barbeques are provided to the guests, who then cook their own sausages on long metal skewers! In addition, the chefs supply pork, veal, beef and lamb cooked to perfection. After dining, the guests move to an indoor theater, where an original Flamenco performance is presented.
Within one hours' drive is the city of Granada with the Alhambra, the number one tourist destination in Spain. A must see, this 14th century palace and fortress has been well maintained and a walking tour with guide is essential to appreciate the architecture and history. The city itself dates back to the 8th Century B.C. and has numerous walking promendes with impressive fountains. This city is also renown for its Tapas Bars and Cafes. This region is definitely worth 2 or three day trips to be able to see it all.
Other must see destinations are The Caves of Nerja, as well as the town itself. The mountain top town of Frigiliana is also recomended. Walking through the old section of town, the views are again spectacular.
If you are staying for a longer period, trips to the cities of Seville and Cordoba also offer the visitor the opportunity to view historically significant monasteries, churches and palaces.
Further afield, you could also visit Gibraltar and cross on a ferry to Tangiers in Morocco.
My wife and I did a tour there and came back with 2 wonderful Persian carpets. Caution, remember that when negotiating for the final price, it is a time honored tradition to haggle. Remember to stay with your tour guide as the city is extremely confusing, and your guide will probably bring you to several merchants to sell you a variety of products. The peddlers are EXTREMELY persistent, one of whom followed us for 20 minutes to get us to buy a ceramic bowl!
Almunecar is exceptionally located with the Mediterranean to the south and the Sierra Nevadas to the north and offers a very pleasant vacation for families, couples and retirees.

Born to European immigrants, I have somewhat modified their - work till you die ethic, - to include a little fun along the way! We also own a share of a 32 foot sailboat in the British Virgin Islands.
Why the Owner Chose Almuñécar, Granada, Spain:
Carmen's family has lived in Almunecar for many years. We love the area because it has exceptional year around weather and this town has a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The apartment, located on the 6th floor has an exceptional view not only of the town, but also the Mediterranean Sea. Staying at the apartment is VERY relaxing. There is plenty of open space, the pools are a great asset in the hot summers, and parking is always available, both in the complex and on the streets nearby. If you have visited the towns and cities in Spain, you will have noted how difficult parking is in the city centers! Although the area where the apartment is located is quiet, a short walk to the beach area, and you will find numerous bars, dance clubs and restaurants where the night life continues until dawn.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
We recently went about modernizing the apartment. The kitchen was completely gutted and renovated in a modern style. At the same time the electrical wiring was replaced and brought up to code. The kitchen boasts all new appliances, including fridge, induction cook-top, oven, microwave, coffee machine and toaster. The old on-demand butane hot water system was replaced with an electrical 100 liter tank. A new split A/C unit was installed and cools the entire apartment quickly and quietly. Their is still a traditional look to the apartment with stained wood door-ways and doors, natural wood dressers and wall units, and tiles throughout the floors. The front balcony overlooks the town of Almunecar as well as the Med. Sea a short distance away.
