Aaron purchased this cabin in 2011
This property is close to both Big Sur and Carmel it is truly best of both worlds. Many of the VRBO'S in Big Sur are off dirt roads and bonus of this cabin is it is on a paved road. The cabin is far enough off the road not to see any cars.
Absolutely beautiful and intimate location. Perfect for a couple trying to get away and spend some surrounded by beautiful redwoods.
Great little cottage nestled in the woods.
Well appointed with just what one needs for a quiet get away near the beautiful Big Sur coast line.
If only the water to the outdoor shower were a few degrees warmer.
Had an amazing experience at this cute cabin. This is the perfect location for those, who want to escape the hustle and bustle. The surrounding area of the property was magical and you could spend a whole day exploring! I highly recommend this rental for couples or friends..not solo. Note that the wifi is spotty, but the homeowner was very upfront about that. Thanks for an awesome couple of days!
We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. The outdoor tub and shower are magically. Location is great, close to both Carmel and big sur.
We love this perfect little cabin with a deck. It felt like home. And it's in a stunning location with all the redwoods. So quiet at night. The outdoor tub next to the jasmine was our favorite feature. The gas powered wood stove will heat the cabin right up. The cabin was stocked with the necessities. Plenty of toiletries but we brought our own. Our only tip: if arriving at night, be sure to get directions from the owners, because you can't see the cabin since it's so dark! Thank you guys for a lovely stay. :)
This cabin was very charming and romantic. My newly engaged fiance and I arrived to the cabin after camping for a few nights in Humboldt Redwood State Park during the rainy season, so the cozy cabin was a perfect refuge. We arrived after dark and the directions weren't as clear as we hoped and with absolutely no service finding the cabin was an adventure, to say the least. For clarification: When you come up Palo Colorado Rd you will see the house number marked on a mailbox to your left, and a drive way to your right - don't take this drive, continue on the main road until to see a tree marked with a gold start and park next to that, and the path is right next to the parking area. Fortunately we had our packs and headlamps to navigate the path from the car to the cabin - there were old solar lamps lining the way however looks like they hadn't worked in a very long time. The outside shower was surrounded by blooming sweet smelling jasmine and showering under a clear sky of stars was enchanting. Unfortunately the bath tub was pretty dirty, which being outside I can understand that dirt can accumulate but felt it could use some maintenance. The little kitchen was equip with a small stove, pots/pans, small refrigerator, utensils, and misc items you may need. There is a gas stove that quickly and efficiently heats the whole space - I would turn it down at night or crack a window as all the heat migrates toward the loft bed. As I mentioned before there is no service so be sure your have your directions available before arriving and we were unable to connect to any wi-fi (a password was provided but no network). We enjoyed the serenity of being unplugged and the intimacy it provided to nature but be prepared to be disconnected while there. The location is fabulous!! The road which is directly off Hwy 1 takes you deep into the beautiful woods with several redwoods surrounding the cabin, and once back on the main hwy is less than a mile to Rocky Point Restaurant which is a beautiful spot for a romantic dinner, and a little further north of that is a beach access where you can sit and watch the magnificent waves. This spot is definitely a gem, and despite the lack of some upkeep and misleading directions, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and recommend this spot.
