My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful guest house over the new years holiday. The house is clean, comfortable and provides everything you could possibly need. The surroundings are quiet and it seemed like we were the only ones on the property. We enjoyed two nights filled with great wine and tunes made straight from the owner himself. We especially enjoyed the daily visits from the owners dog, he is so sweet and friendly. Words can't describe how much we enjoyed our stay! Thanks Denis for the great stay in Paso Robles, we will definitely be back! See you next time!
We enjoyed our stay at Mojo. The cottage was all good except for a couple of things . . . instead of a TV, it was equipped with a computer monitor screen with Dish. My husband couldn't figure out why someone would spend the money to build a quality place then not provide a decent TV. Then there was the bed, which made a horrible creaking noise every time you turned over throughout the night, leaving us with very little sleep -- another thing that could be upgraded. Other than these two complaints, the locations was very different and it was fun to get visits from the black lab.
Okay...I realize that some reviews are undeservedly over the top. However, this one is well deserved. My wife and I stayed at the Mojo Room for our anniversary weekend. This was undeniably our favorite and best trip to Paso Robles. Staying at the Mojo Room is a large part of the reason why.. Aside from being extremely accessible and convenient, the property was everything we could have wanted. The property is picturesque over looking the surrounding properties and vineyards. The Mojo Room is well appointed and had everything that we needed while staying at the property. The owner, Denis, did everything he could to give us our privacy, yet add his own flavor to our stay. Such as his recommendation to an outstanding restaurant, enjoying his wonderful and friendly Black Lab, to even sharing a bottle of his 100% grenache under the stars while listening to jazz & blues. This is one place will we return to time and time again. I highly recommend this property to any couple looking for a special place.
The setting is absolutely beautiful! Each morning we awakened to views of the vineyard and valley beyond and each night we retired to views of the lights of Paso. We especially enjoyed the Domain Degher wine tasting with Denis, whose wines are absolutely wonderful! Although we were unable to connect to Wi-Fi in the Mojo Room, Denis offered the use of his patio where we could gain access.
We could not have chosen a more perfect place to stay. The Mojo Room sits on a hill overlooking a vineyard and olive trees. Its floor-to-ceiling windows on the front side offer perfect views of the vineyard, rolling hills and even the distant night lights from town. The front patio offers outdoor living space that is perfect for this part of the country. The property offers that get-away-from-it-all feel, yet fantastic restaurants are just a short drive away. Be sure to spend some time with Coltrane, a very fun black lab, and of course Denis. One of the highlights of our trip was the afternoon we spent with Denis, talking and tasting his wines. The wines are as fantastic as the winemaker.
My wife and I decided to visit Paso Robles for the first time over the New Year's Eve holiday, and stayed at Denis Degher's Mojo Room. The place is an absolute gem, and Denis (and Coltrane, about whom you'll read more in other reviews) were welcoming, gracious and respectful.
The Mojo Room itself—actually a small detached studio-apartment-sized structure—is brilliant. Everything is in perfect condition, stylish and well-designed for its purpose. Very chic, and also very conducive to snuggling (our vacation happened during a cold snap, which made it all the more romantic).
Getting into town, and out and about to the various wineries, couldn't be easier. Denis can give you as many, or as few, recommendations as you like for places to go and things to do. We left Paso Robles and Domaine Degher recharged, revitalized and ready to kick off our New Year, which is exactly what we'd hoped to achieve.
Located on the west side of the world famous Paso Robles grape growing region. Taste world class wines and enjoy the amazing views.
