Charming Old Adobe Home 2 Bed, 2 Bath Casita

This wonderful 300 yr old adobe home has been recently renovated and is connected by a private courtyard. Adjacent to the RC Gorman Gallery and adjoining Casa de Flores, the Gallery Casita is located on picturesque Ledoux St. just minutes from the Taos Plaza and Bent Street Shops. Attractions on the street include restaurants, art galleries, the Harwood and Blumenschein Museums.

Originally the barn, the front part of the Gallery Casita has beautiful wood vigas, and a cozy fireplace. This 250 sf front bedroom has a queen sized bed, fireplace, cable tv and bathroom with shower.

Across the courtyard, the back part of the casita has beautiful vaulted ceilings, original adzed beams and paint splatters on the floor from years of use as Bill Rane's artist studio. Measuring 900 sf, it has a beautiful new kitchen with stainless steel appliances, new bath shower with colorful talavera tiles, queen size sofabed, and a wonderful bright living area with cable TV and a king sized bed. The back Casita is an open area with the living/dining/sleeping areas adjoining each other. The back Casita has its' own separate entrance from the street.

There is a wonderful private courtyard for relaxing and enjoying the cool Taos evenings.

The front and back casitas can be rented separately for smaller groups or rented with Casa de Flores #61210 next door together for larger groups. Please note - the two bedrooms are in separate buildings - which makes the Casitas perfect for two couples or families with older children.

The entrance to Ledoux St is very small and narrow and will not accommodate RV's or campers. Parking is sometimes limited during weekdays and may not be available right in front of the house, but it is always plentiful at night and on weekends.

Why Helen Tracey chose New Mexico

We have owned Casa de Flores next door since 2003. The Gallery Casitas add wonderful space, light and room to the homes. We renovated the property in the summer of 2012.

What makes this house unique

Location. Location. Location! This house is close to everything in historic Taos - restaurants, shops, and museums.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful time in Taos and this place fit our family of 5 great. The place was charming, clean and the updated kitchen had everything we could possible need. I would recommend this place to everyone. It was better than we could have expected. We hope to be back in the near future. Thanks Helen for all your help.

We could live here!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay in the Flores Gallery Casitas. Our son was able to join us and have his own space in the front Casita and my husband and I had the larger back Casita. It is in a great location, easy walking distance to galleries, wine tasting, museums, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. The Casitas were clean, comfortable, quiet and being that they're in a historical building a little quirky. Beautifully decorated, great kitchen space with everything we needed, huge lovely shower, washer and dryer - all our needs were met. Oh, and the courtyard is wonderfully charming and a great place to sit with an afternoon beer or your morning coffee and a book. Would highly recommend the Gallery Casitas.

Owner's Response: We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay in Taos! Fall in Taos is such a beautiful time. We appreciate your taking the time to write and let us know that you enjoyed the casitas and the courtyard. You're right, the old adobe buildings are a bit quirky but we agree with you that that is what's fun about them. We hope to welcome you again soon! Best, Lisa & David

This Is an outstanding property!

  • 5 of 5

The furnishings and amenities are top of the line. The location is one of the best in Taos. The plaza, very good restaurants, nice galleries and a grocery store are all within an easy walk. The place is well cared for and very clean and the staff is readily available yet never intrusive. You will be very happy if you rent this property.

Lovely LeDoux Street Casitas -- Perfection!

  • 5 of 5

First of all, I don't think there is a more picturesque street in America than lovely Le Doux street with its narrow winding way, surrounded by earthen adobe structures with bright blue doors and windows, flowers, art galleries and two of the most noted museums of Taos right on the street. It is a very short stroll to the Plaza and all the restaurants, shops and garlleries of downtown Taos. The location cannot be beat.

Then there are the casitas themselves. Impeccably clean, beautifully decorated with local arts, super comfie bedding, gorgeous kitchenware. We've been on a cross country trek, and have stayed in a lot of generic hotels, so to be in these two great houses, with a full kitchen and laundry and a serene patio felt like being at home again -- I really loved it and would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!

This is my families second time to stay at one of the 3 units in this compound. I would highly recommend them. They are very well appointed with all the needs items and more. Feels like you are at home. The management is very helpful and only a call away. Look forward to our next visit.

Beyond Expectations!

  • 5 of 5

This was right downtown and everything we had hoped for. Very clean and in a historic area. Took several road trips and looked forward to coming back each evening to Casa de Flores. When visiting Taos please make a trip out to Ojo Calienta Hot Springs! We will return to Taos and Casa de Flores. First class rental in Taos!

Charming and Convenient

  • 5 of 5

My husband, daughter and I all enjoyed our time at Casa de Flores. As others have commented, the location is terrific with restaurants, shops and museums within a short walking distance. Street is very quiet at night. Every amenity we could have wanted was provided, including wi-fi. We loved having coffee in the courtyard in between the casitas. The manager was very responsive. Probably our best VRBO experience. We will be back.
