About the property

2 bedroom, 2 bath, full log cabin with mountain and lake views.

'Once Upon a Dream' is a beautiful, PRIVATELY situated 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin in the gorgeous Douglas Lake Resort community of Sevierville, Tennessee - 20 minutes from Dollywood / Dollywood Splash Country, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville, and only 35 minutes from Gatlinburg! Enjoy the amenities of the resort, including a private boat launch, fishing docks, paved walking trails, swimming pool, playground, wildlife observation decks and more! You can unwind at the cabin by playing pool or ping-pong in the loft, rocking in the rocking chairs, playing games on the Wii or Xbox (see list of games below), enjoying the tremendous views, listening to the birds, or relaxing in the large hot tub! Two queen sleeper sofas (both downstairs) and a new trundle bed in the loft will accommodate smaller guests, while the masters of the house can enjoy a king size bed! Everyone can take pleasure in the fireplace on cold nights! Douglas Lake is a hot spot for fishing, skiing, and swimming, and the cabin’s proximity to all the Smokies has to offer is hard to compare! So bring your sweetheart, and/or the kids and come make the memories of a lifetime!

TAKE NOTE: at ONCE UPON A DREAM, you can enjoy both a beautiful lake AND the mountains! Also, the cabin is not squeezed right beside other cabins, like you would find in many 'resorts.' Douglas Lake Resort has a neighborhood atmosphere with loads of beautiful trees, and 'Once Upon a Dream' has a BREATHTAKING MOUNTAIN VIEW from the front porch. You will have a 'MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE' not just a 'CABIN EXPERIENCE.'

*Wifi is provided for our visitors.

Sonya Stearns purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Sonya Stearns chose East

'Once Upon a Dream' is the fruition of a 20+ year dream. After honeymooning in Gatlinburg in 1988, we vacationed in Pigeon Forge and surrounding area whenever we could, discovering Douglas Lake in 2000. Through God's unexpected blessing and provision, we have been able to purchase this, our 'cabin in the woods' - named for the theme song from the timeless Disney Classic, Sleeping Beauty. We love to relax in the rockers or swing and have our morning coffee, but we also love the hustle and bustle of the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge dining, shopping, recreation, and shows. 'Once Upon a Dream' allows for both. Since we live in sandy and flat southwest Florida, the mountain surroundings are a thrilling change! We delight in the magnificent variety of God's creation.

We purchased THIS PARTICULAR cabin because of its tremendous DUAL VIEWS of both DOUGLAS LAKE and the SMOKY MOUNTAINS.

What makes this cabin unique

THE VIEW from the front porch is 'to die for.' Having another view from the loft - a distant one of the lake - is very unique! Although our cabin is part of a neighborhood, OUR PROPERTY feels very private, with trees giving us a boundary between our nearest neighbor. The Douglas Lake Resort community's amenities (boat launch, fishing docks and boardwalk, paved walking trails, playground, firepit, pool) mixed with its close proximity to all the activities of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Sevierville can't be beat.

Nice get a way!

  • 3 of 5

It was very nice to get away from the Fast Life of the City! The furniture ( couch ) could use updated, it was badly flaking. But overall it was a nice get away for the price.

Owner's Response: Brand new den furniture - couch and loveseat - are set to be delivered. We were hoping to wait to purchase at the end of the year while we were in town, but when a guest says it's bad - then we had to act (contracting someone to purchase, another to deliver, another to meet the delivery, etc.) Sorry for the "flaking couch." Hope you can return and see other improvements. Brand new "cabin themed" dishes have also been purchased. Sonya

Great cabin, clean and convenient

  • 4 of 5

Cabin was very clean and well equipped. It was very convenient to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Close to the lake which was unfortunately drained when we visited.

Owner's Response: Yes, Frank. Unfortunately big, beautiful Douglas Lake is a seasonal lake which means it is full from spring to late summer, then drained to lower levels sometime after Labor Day. Depending on the drought conditions, it can get pretty low during the off season. The area is still beautiful, anytime of the year. Thanks for the honest review. I would love for you to come back during the summer when you can enjoy the pool and lake!

Beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was great! Plenty of room for the family. The views from the porch were AMAZING! A few family members' favorite things were to sit on the deck in the rocking chairs enjoying their morning coffee. The kitchen was well supplied with pots, pans, and dishes. The hot tub was nice. The owners were great to work with and quick to reply to texts. The cabin was very clean, I let my 15 month old run around barefoot. Thank you for sharing your cabin!

Beautiful cabin. Very relaxing and peaceful.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the cabin very much. The pool table was a huge hit! Very quite surroundings. Sitting in the swing watching the sun come up was so relaxing. We stayed in a lot cooking and grilling. The grill was something to get used to because we only use charcoal but my husband figured it out. We drove down to the lake but it had been drained which was to be expected so late in the season. My husband still walked out and put his toes in the water. We look forward to our next trip to Tennessee. We have decided to make Tennessee our yearly vacation spot. We hope to return in the winter.

Would definitely stay here again and would heartily recommend it!

  • 5 of 5

First off, the view from the porch was a great thing to wake up to every day. Second, the place was spacious enough to accommodate the ever important sleep schedule of a toddler and an infant. Third, the hot tub was a great place to relax at night. Fourth, excellent communication with the owners. Fifth, did I mention the view?

Would definitely stay here again and would heartily recommend it!
