Overview

About the property

2 bedroom, 2 bath, full log cabin with mountain and lake views.

'Once Upon a Dream' is a beautiful, PRIVATELY situated 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin in the gorgeous Douglas Lake Resort community of Sevierville, Tennessee - 20 minutes from Dollywood / Dollywood Splash Country, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville, and only 35 minutes from Gatlinburg! Enjoy the amenities of the resort, including a private boat launch, fishing docks, paved walking trails, swimming pool, playground, wildlife observation decks and more! You can unwind at the cabin by playing pool or ping-pong in the loft, rocking in the rocking chairs, playing games on the Wii or Xbox (see list of games below), enjoying the tremendous views, listening to the birds, or relaxing in the large hot tub! Two queen sleeper sofas (both downstairs) and a new trundle bed in the loft will accommodate smaller guests, while the masters of the house can enjoy a king size bed! Everyone can take pleasure in the fireplace on cold nights! Douglas Lake is a hot spot for fishing, skiing, and swimming, and the cabin’s proximity to all the Smokies has to offer is hard to compare! So bring your sweetheart, and/or the kids and come make the memories of a lifetime!

TAKE NOTE: at ONCE UPON A DREAM, you can enjoy both a beautiful lake AND the mountains! Also, the cabin is not squeezed right beside other cabins, like you would find in many 'resorts.' Douglas Lake Resort has a neighborhood atmosphere with loads of beautiful trees, and 'Once Upon a Dream' has a BREATHTAKING MOUNTAIN VIEW from the front porch. You will have a 'MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE' not just a 'CABIN EXPERIENCE.'

*FREE Wifi is provided for our visitors.

Why Sonya Stearns chose East

'Once Upon a Dream' is the fruition of a 20+ year dream. After honeymooning in Gatlinburg in 1988, we vacationed in Pigeon Forge and surrounding area whenever we could, discovering Douglas Lake in 2000. Through God's unexpected blessing and provision, we have been able to purchase this, our 'cabin in the woods' - named for the theme song from the timeless Disney Classic, Sleeping Beauty. We love to relax in the rockers or swing and have our morning coffee, but we also love the hustle and bustle of the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge dining, shopping, recreation, and shows. 'Once Upon a Dream' allows for both. Since we live in sandy and flat southwest Florida, the mountain surroundings are a thrilling change! We delight in the magnificent variety of God's creation.

We purchased THIS PARTICULAR cabin because of its tremendous DUAL VIEWS of both DOUGLAS LAKE and the SMOKY MOUNTAINS.

What makes this cabin unique

THE VIEW from the front porch is 'to die for.' Having another view from the loft - a distant one of the lake - is very unique! Although our cabin is part of a neighborhood, OUR PROPERTY feels very private, with trees giving us a boundary between our nearest neighbor. The Douglas Lake Resort community's amenities (boat launch, fishing docks and boardwalk, paved walking trails, playground, firepit, pool) mixed with its close proximity to all the activities of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Sevierville can't be beat.

Beautiful!

Beautiful cabin and area. My family and I enjoyed it tremendously. Close enough to everything but far enough away that you don´t feel crowded. Thanks for sharing your second home with my family.

The cabin was clean, beautifully and comfortably decorated, and had an amazing view of the mountain.

We loved being so close to the lake where we canoed, and we chose to prepare all our own meals and eat on the deck of the cabin to enjoy the incredible view! It was a wonderfully peaceful weekend.

Owner's Response: Preparing your meals at the cabin is a $ saver. Plus - it's usually healthier! The crock-pot is an easy option if you want to venture out for the day. We love the porch, too. It's so relaxing, especially if you're used to "city life." Thanks for your kind review! Sonya

Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family reserved several cabins in this community for our family reunion. This cabin was one of the nicer ones. Some cabins had the same floor plan, but this accommodated our 5 easily, with room to sleep 2 or 3 more. The loft area worked well for the children for sleeping, with room for a pool table. The cabin is furnished well, with comfortable furniture in the living area. The wifi was stronger and better than I have at home! Decor is as you would expect, but not cluttered with too much, as many cabin seem to be. The cabin was clean and the linens, bedding, extra blankets etc. all seemed fairly new. Overall, we were very pleased. Our only "warnings" (which are just part of lot location) are the elevation requiring lots of stairs up to the cabin, and the small parking area which was tight for our 2 cars. Neither were an issue for us. We would recommend this cabin.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Linda. You are right, there are stairs leading up to the porch / entry, which would not be appropriate for immobile folk. The elevation is what gives our cabin a "tree house" feel, with really nice views all around.

Great Place to Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin to stay in... we have stayed in several in the resort and enjoyed this one as much as any... There are a lot of stairs so make sure everyone in your group can handle that but otherwise very clean and well stocked!

Owner's Response: Thanks Lucas! Yes - we have the stairs to the front door - which makes our cabin feel like a tree-house, and gives us the views that we so enjoy! Please come again!
