Our recently renovated Old Florida Cottage offers duplex living with cottage appeal. Originally a single family home, it was converted to two units over 30 years ago. This 1 bedroom/1 bath unit includes two relaxing private deck areas perfect for coffee and the morning paper, reading and relaxing and cooking out. It is 1/2 block to the beautiful white sands of Siesta Key's Crescent Beach. Inside you'll find a fully furnished and renovated cottage featuring: Bamboo floors and Spanish tile throughout, living room, full kitchen with granite countertops, 1 bedroom with a King Size bed and a private patio area, and a full bathroom. For your entertainment you'll find flat screen HDTV's in both the living room and bedroom. This 1bd/1ba unit is WiFi equipped and has its own Washer/Dryer.
The Siesta Key Blue Cottage is steps to the beach, equidistance from two beach access points, and a half a block from Siesta Key's Ocean Boulevard where you'll find all that Siesta Key Village has to offer for dining, entertainment, and shopping. Jump in the car and in ten minutes you're in downtown Sarasota.
Sorry, no weddings.
The owners, Bill and Molly bought their first triplex on Calle Miramar in '89. They've lived on Siesta Key ever since then and are very familiar with all that Sarasota has to offer.
'We think Siesta Key is a great place to live, you can go to the beach three times a day, catch the sunsets at night and park your car on a Friday night and not have to drive again until Monday morning.'
Bill Burns purchased this cottage in 2005
The Siesta Key Blue Cottage is the second property we've owned on Calle Miramar. It's a sought after location just 1/2 block to both the Beach and the Village. Built in 1949, it has withstood the test of time and is one of the few remaining examples on Siesta Key of the Florida Bungalow.
Unique benefits to this property are it's a ground floor, one floor housing unit. No flights of stairs to haul your bags up. An easy walk with a chair and beach towel gets you to the quieter end of Siesta Beach without trying to find parking! And it's a short walk, not a drive or ride, into Siesta Village where you have many restaurants to choose from. Location, location, location.
We enjoyed our stay. The Blue Cottage has everything you need. The owners are attentive to your needs and stay in communication with you leading up to your stay to make sure you have a pleasant time. The place is perfect for a two person getaway. Use it as your home base and get out and enjoy all that Siesta Key has to offer.
Great location. 2 minute walk to the beach or Ocean Blvd.
Grest place! Everything within walking distance and the place was well stocked for all your needs.
This was our very first vacation to Siesta Key, Florida and staying at the Blue Cottage was a great experience. This place is super cute and it comes equipped with everything you need and then some. Bill and Molly have literally thought of everything you need while on vacation. It's a little bit of a hike to the beach but the cottage came with a black wire grocery cart that made the haul a lot easier! We had a great time and would definitely recommend staying here to anyone that is interested!
The blue cottage was the perfect getaway for my husband and I! Bill greeted us upon arrival. He was very accommodating. He answered phone calls and e-mails right away if we had any questions. The cottage was very clean and had everything you needed. Probably could have used a few more towels. The king bed was very comfortable too! Siesta key village was just a short walk! And don't under estimate the local market! It had everything you needed! The beach was about a block and half away. We will definitely be coming back to the blue cottage!
We traveled here all the way from Houston Texas and loved our stay. The cottage was nice and comfortable for me and my fiancé. Bill was really nice and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. We came here for the beach and it did not disappoint. The food was really good and surprisingly close. We never had to drive anywhere during our stay. Each night we walked around and ended up meeting a lot of the locals. Everyone was really nice. Overall we had a good experience and we hope to return again sometime in the near future. Thanks bill for making this a excellent experience.
Siesta Key is a 10 minute drive from downtown Sarasota's night life and movie theaters. Orlando's attractions are about two and half hours by car.
Sarasota County offers visitors many choices for activities beyond its world-class beaches, from the Legacy Trail for bicyclist, Myakka State Park for naturalists, to the Ringling Museum for the art lover, all within an easy half hour drive from Siesta Key.
