About The Owner

We are a family consisting of a nurse, a college administrator, & a custom home builder who live in Vermont.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2012

Why The Owner chose Tahoma

Over the years, close family & friends have made the move to living in Northern California. We've been visiting the Tahoe area for over 15 years, and plan on (eventually) making a permanent home here.

What makes this cabin unique

Little Bear Cabin is located in a secluded, quiet section of Tahoma on the corner of two cul-de-sacs, while the attractions of the Lake Tahoe area remain easily accessible.

Perfect Cabin Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We felt so fortunate to find this cabin on VRBO. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and convenient. Laurie was a pleasure to coordinate with and we will most definitely stay at the Little Bear Cabin the next time we head to Tahoe.

We had a great 10th anniversary in that little cute cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is great. It is perfectly situated. Just hike to Lake Tahoe through Sugar Pine State Park being one block away. Or explore the cross-country ski course of the 1960 Olympics, yes you can react that in Winter.

If you plan to cook a fancy meal, the kitchen tools and pots are not the greatest. But since we stayed there for a second time, we brought what we needed.

Thank you very much,

Cozy, clean, and a great location!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week at Little Bear Cabin in late September. My brother, who lives in the Bay area, joined us for part of the week. The cabin was perfect for the three of us. The kitchen is nicely appointed with modern appliances and plenty of everything you need to fix a nice meal. (When we weren't dining in, we found plenty of restaurants within a ten minute drive. We especially enjoyed breakfast at the Fire Sign Café in Homewood.) I loved the gas fireplace and put it to good use to warm the cabin as the first snowfall of the season took us by surprise! While we tried to spend most of our time out and about, the time we spent in the cabin was very pleasant and enjoyable.

We took advantage of Sugar Pine Point State Park, just steps from the cabin's front door. We made a daily trip to the beach - just a ten minute walk away. Tahoma is a great location for setting up a "base camp" to explore all the little towns and beautiful parks around Lake Tahoe. The neighborhood around the cabin was very quiet. We felt perfectly at home all week!

If we ever return to Lake Tahoe, we will definitely stay at Little Bear Cabin!

Relaxing Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here when we got married at Homewood. It was more perfect than we could have asked for (the rental and the wedding!). Little Bear Cabin was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The cabin has lots of natural light, big windows and a big mirror - my bridesmaids and I all got ready at the cabin before the wedding :)

Relaxing on the couch in front of the gas fireplace was a luxury even though the summer nights were not that cold. We spent many an afternoon sitting on the porch under the umbrella and used the gas grill to cook a delicious dinner. An extra bonus is that the lot next door is just trees, so it felt very private. We really enjoyed being able to walk to the beach for a sunset stroll.

We definitely are planning to come back in the future!

Thank you Laurie!! (and sorry my review took so long!)

We loved being steps from the state park and being able to walk to the lake. The only bummer was we didn't see any bears. :(
