Overview

About the property

Summit Run is a one of a kind 5 bedroom + bunkroom / 5 bath Timber Frame house located at the base of Mount Ellen. This magnificent yet warm and comfortable home is situated in a very private setting that has unparalleled views looking directly at Mount Ellen.

This house has multiple configuration possibilities to accommodate many types of travelers. The main floor is home to a large eat-in gourmet kitchen with all the amenities, including an 8 burner stove, 3 ovens, 3 dishwashers and even a built in Miele steam oven. There is a great room with a magnificent fireplace off the kitchen, a separate formal dining room and a very cozy den. The big mud room and full laundry are off the garage/catwalk. There is a large master suite and an expansive deck that spans the entire back of the house. There are two more master suites along with a loft upstairs.

The full walkout lower level is self sufficient and works well for groups with kids or for multiple families that are looking for a little privacy. There is a second kitchen, tv/game room area with a pullout sofa bed, bathroom, separate laundry and two more bedrooms. The second bedroom has a connected but separate bunk room. The 8-person tub is located just outside the door.

There is a large 3-bay heated garage allowing you to park inside and keep the cars out of the elements.

With all the privacy this house has to offer, it is on a town road located just off of the Mount Ellen access road, meaning roads are extremely well-maintained and we are not far from amenities.

In the winter you can watch the skiers on the mountain and the snowboarders doing tricks in the snowboard park by day and then watch the CATS groom the trails by night. There is no better way to enjoy a roaring fire or a soak in the hot tub. If the weather is amenable, you can enjoy a nice fire in our upper fire pit or go for a snowshoe as there is ample snowshoeing adjacent to the property.

In the summer you can enjoy all nature has to offer with beautiful greenery and views from anywhere on the property. There are numerous decks and places to enjoy being outside as well as a swimming pond. Chase Creek is at the bottom of the property and boasts some great fishing for brook trout, great hiking/mountain biking and some great water holes to relax in. You have your choice of two fire pits: one off the kitchen and one down by the pond. It is not uncommon to see the Milky Way and shooting stars while enjoying a nice fire.

This is truly a unique and majestic property that can be enjoyed at all times of the year and in all weather conditions!

Great house! Beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a great Vermont getaway this is the place to stay! The house is very spacious and easily accomodated 10 adults. Between the huge fireplace in the great room, the hot tubs, pool table and kitchens there isn't any need to leave the house to find something to do! But if you do want to get out it is only a short drive to Sugarbush and town! The homeowners were great to work with as well! My friends and I are already looking forward to getting back next fall!

Beautiful property, beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful ski weekend at Sugarbush! The house lived up to the reviews with amazing kitchen and great room with fireplace and stunning views.

Master bedroom suites were very nice. Bedrooms downstairs were ok, more suited for kids, not couples.

Owner left a house "handbook" which was very helpful when checking out. All in all a wonderful stay and can't wait to go back.

Hints- Do bring an SUV to get up the road that the house is on, and stay away from the route 17 pass in the winter! Waze took us on the road during white out conditions and it was terrifying!! Trust me on this.

Amazing Home!!

  • 5 of 5

This home is amazing. We booked a long weekend for a family ski trip. The house is fantastic, even more beautiful than the pictures. The views are spectacular. Every detail was well thought out and it has so many amenities. We had tons of room to spread out and then the open kitchen/living area was perfect for some great family time. The kids had a blast in the walk out lower floor with the pool table and TV. We had an amazing weekend of skiing at Sugarbush (Mt. Ellen was our favorite). The owners were so responsive, we didn't have any issues at all, the whole process was so smooth. We hope to stay again next year!!

AMAZING! Pictures do not do the property justice. Stunning views with top notch amenities.

We skied both sugarbush and mount Ellen. Mount Ellen was for more advanced skiers. Both mountains are within minutes of the property. People of the town were laid back and inviting. Awesome experience and the home was just perfect. Suitable for large group, we were 13 and never felt cramped. We Put the teens in the finished basement. Great room for them with the pool table and darts. Also gave them space as well as adults quite time after a long day skiing. Property has 3 master suites which was great to give each couple private bathroom. Hot tub faces the mountain so you can sit and watch the groomers comb the mountain at night. Overall one of our greatest family vacations. make sure you have an automobile equipped for snow. Our sedan rental couldn't make it up street to driveway when snowing. Wasn't a bad walk for those in good physical condition
