About Pauline

Owner is a descendant of the Albuquerque 1706 founding families. A respected professional with the Albuquerque Public Schools

Pauline purchased this house in 1900

Why Pauline chose West Old Town

My vision, as an owner, has been to provide out-of-towners with a property that reflects the history of Albuquerque and New Mexico and is just minutes away from a tremendous amount of important and historic sites, including museums, parks, shops, US Hwy 66 and more!

What makes this house unique

Sitting in the heart of the city, the oldest neighborhood (unplanned), historic, zoned agriculture/ mixed. This property's location makes a family vacation or a business trip convenient, accessible, enjoyable and memorable, just steps away from city transportation, or numerous area activities. Only 1 mile from the Convention Center, and 3 miles from UNM. Easy bus transportation to the Airport 5 miles away. For a daily dose of Albuquerque pictures (as well as local commentary), see the Duke City Fix web site. Photos are posted on the Albuquerque Photo Gallery near the top of the DCF home page. People post new ones daily, and there are often spectacular shots of the Albuquerque scenery.

Great Home Away From Home

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at Pauline's Historic Adobe as part of a family thanksgiving gathering. We really appreciated how well stocked the kitchen and rest of the home were. It's a very comfortable home in a great location. It's not a fancy home but clean and a great place to stay.

Owner's Response: These guests were very easy to communicate with, and appreciated this historic adobe, as they left the home in very good order. Hope they will return in the future! Thank you! Pauline

Nice and clean but small

Owner's Response: These guests did not report they brought large dog(s) with them, so in a 3 bedroom 2 bath home makes for less space, when adding animals to stay. Owner permission is required,( so to determine if an extra cost will be required and/or reasonable space is available for size dog(s)). With this large family, in Winter, dogs would not have been reasonable. Their animal clean up has been an additional cost to owner.

Great location; within walking distance to Old Town. Comfortable accommodations.

  • 4 of 5

The house has everything necessary for an extended stay. Although we didn't cook there, the kitchen was well supplied. Beds were comfortable, and there seemed to be enough hot water and water pressure. We were there in the winter, and the heater worked fine. Overall, it was a good stay.

Comfortable home in a good location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed recently for a couple days in Albuquerque. Our goal was to spend brief amounts of time at home and most of our time exploring New Mexico. This house was good for that purpose.

Our stay not good.

  • 1 of 5

Sad to say that the pictures on the VRBO website is not the picture of the location. The house was dirty the carpets not vacuumed, not dusted, cobwebs under the microwave,, bathroom is disgusting, mugs in cabinet dirty, very very cluttered. Was left a note saying that they spray for bugs. Dead bugs all over the place, grossed out. I do not recommend this place unless these things are taken care of. I took pictures in case my comment is disputed.

Owner's Response: The older home is always cleaned well, vacumed after each guest stay. If a mug was placed in the cabinet dirty by other guests, that was unknowable and unfortunate. The lid on toilet has two tiny chips that expose the "brown" wood underneath. I scrubbed the toilet and bathroom myself for this visit. The photo is ACTUAL home, I do not agree on this EXTREME and negative review, exaggerated to the point that the photo was not the actual location "Absurd" in itself tells how unreal this review is. I warned of exterminator treatment, needed for this old home. Again, this home is in a mixed use area, all homes surrounding are dirt, natural vegetation which is not a modern neighborhood, and anyone booking should be aware this area does not have as much control of the environments as other places do, due to historic nature. Booking a higher priced listing or newer construction may guarantee less "threats" that may come from historic natural environments.
