We loved this cottage! Right in the middle of wine country!

Perfect little cottage for my husband and I to stay while visiting the Willamette Valley. Comfortable and clean, with everything we needed right at our finger tips.

lovely spot convenient to wine country

  • 4 of 5

beautiful little cottage! Nice bottle of wine to greet us. Convenient to wineries, some great local music for such a small town, and the BAKERY Yum. Only thing would have made it better is that for two couples, a 2nd half bath would have been very nice, but otherwise it was great. Very clean and nicely decorated. Quieter than McMinnville.

Nice, cosy, but situated right on major trucking route

  • 3 of 5

The place was mostly clean and neat---there were some stains on the twin bed coverlet by the window, but the coverlet itself was newly laundered, as were all the towels. The house suited the two of us comfortably, but I honestly cannot imagine how two couples would manage. It was a joy to see a clean bath mat (a VRBO first in my experience), enough toilet paper, and even ice cubes in the dorm-room size refrigerator. Plates, knives, utensils, and cookware are all new and quite serviceable. The house is, however, situated on a corner lot where a small road and a major trucking route intersect. All night huge logging trucks (and other trucks having 8-10 wheels) roar along, shaking the whole road. The truck noises are loud and intermittent, unlike the normal hum of traffic on a freeway. While the house is accurately described as being a cottage across from a winery, it is not exactly situated in the country--the streets adjacent to the house look more like suburbia than the country description implies. Nevertheless, the location and its centrality to many local wineries and restaurants cannot be beaten (bring ear plugs or sleeping pills).

Owner's Response: Thank you for your candid review. We appreciate any input (positive or negative) from our guests. We strive to always be improving our VRBOs. We deeply apologize about the road noise. Unfortunately during your visit western Oregon was having a record heat wave with extremely low humidity. During such periods of time, the Oregon Department of Forestry issues a "limited shut down" mandate requiring all logging crews to be out of our forest lands by 1:00 PM or earlier. Often loggers will double up on trucking creating at least twice the traffic on HWY 47 and other roads leading from our coastal forest lands. To compound matters, we heard truck traffic was being diverted from HWY 240 to HWY 47 due to temporary weight restrictions because of road construction on HWY 240. You experienced an uncommon event. This amount of traffic rarely occurs. In the 5 years we have had this VRBO we seldom have had guests even mention road noise. Again we sincerely apologize for the annoyance and hope you enjoyed your visit otherwise.
