It's not difficult to understand why many young couples have chosen this estate as a site for their wedding. In fact many of our couples have chosen to stay in this cottage for their honeymoon after their wedding. So obviously you are not here to get hitched but it is the perfect vacation spot.
Let your cares drop away as the waves gently soothe you to sleep. Relax on your own private sandy beach, enjoy nature as deer, osprey, eagles, and turkey visit the property. Fish from the dock and seasonally enjoy this Garden of Eatin' as there are figs, raspberries, blackberries, grapes, apples, pears and chestnuts for the picking.

About Cindy and Dave Ferguson
We have lovingly renovated the main house and cottage with an eye towards quality and detail. We make every effort to accomodate and cater to our guests every need making for a memorable vacation.
Cindy and Dave Ferguson purchased this Cottage in 1998
Why Cindy and Dave Ferguson chose Dorchester County
The Eastern Shore is one of Marylands best kept secrets. Just sixty minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Washington and Baltimore to your private vacation located a few miles outside of the city limits of downtown Cambridge, 'The Jewel of the Eastern Shore'. Come by land, sea,or fly in to our local airport. Bring your boat, bring your horse, bring your golf clubs, and prepare yourself for a weekend or week of fun and relaxation. This completely renovated 1000 square foot cottage located on a private 27 acre estate is nestled a mere 200 feet from the banks of the Choptank River. Whether you have had a full day of shopping and antiquing in nearby Easton, Oxford, or St. Michaels or are tired from a day of golf at the country club less than two miles from the home, or just lazing away the day on your private secluded beach the sounds of the river lapping on the shoreline will gently massage your worries away as you sleep. This century old estate offers our guests exclusive privacy unlike your typical beachgoers. Plan however to have plenty of visitors during your stay. Horns Point is abundant with wildlife. Families of deer tend to the fallen fruits in our orchard, while restless squirrels scurry collecting nuts for their long winters nap. The American bald eagles fly high above their osprey relatives, all looking for a snack to feed their brood. Venture out for an early morning walk or run on this deserted dead end back road and you may run into our masked neighbors as they make their way back to their daytime burrow or amazed by the aerobatic maneuvers of the flying Delmarva fox squirrels, or follow the rattata sound until you reach the location of a pileated woodpecker. Every morning you can witness the aerobatic maneuvers of our duck squadron as they do an early morning flyby, or the ballet performance of a flock of Canadian geese or Great Blue Herons.
What makes this Cottage unique
The large stately trees on this property initially captivated us and then it was the privacy, broad water vistas, gorgeous moon beam rises and wonderful sunrises. The sunsets are also beautiful as the opposite shoreline glows with the setting sun.

Great weekend getaway
Awesome place to stay! Nice clean and quaint cottage in a secluded spot close to Cambridge and St. Michaels. Cindy and Dave were very friendly and really made my wife and I feel welcome. Great private beach and a pool! If you're looking for a place to spend a romantic weekend at, give the place a good look! We will be back for sure!
BETTER THAN PICTURED
We expected a nice little cottage with a view. We did NOT expect it to be so updated, so peaceful.. with perks that money can't buy.. the water's edge is RIGHT THERE. The beach area is just what we wanted.. the sunsets and sunrises can't be bought. Neither can viewing the big dipper! The owners are super nice.. providing an added plus.. a boat ride to explore the coast we couldn't see from the house. While it was too late in the season to enjoy the pool, it's a beauty and sitting out by it is also very relaxing. The owners are more than hospitable.. they are like extended family. An added plus was that the owner and my daughter had some delightful talks about horses! We will return!
What can I say? To start, Cindy and Dave were marvelous people. The surrounding verdant woods were
Teeming with deer bounding through the woods; under soaring eagles in the endless vast sky. The cottage was clean and cozy. The cottage was incredibly restorative for stressed out city people. We rode bikes through the country roads, amongst amber waves of grain. We loved the location and how it felt like we got a taste of being out among nature. It was a wonderful restorative experience.
Very comfortable with beautiful views
This was a wonderful property. Cindy was very friendly, welcoming and flexible with our arrival time. We enjoyed cooking in their fully stocked kitchen and would definitely rent again.
You could not find a better place in the area to stay. The grounds are immaculate & w/ the Choptank at your doorstep it makes for a great setting for a couple, family reunion, bachelorette party, etc. The cottage, where we stayed, was superb w/ a fully equip kitchen, comfortable mattress & roomy living area. Another plus is that the estate is dog friendly...we had 2. The owners Cindy & Dave live on the estate but you would hardly know they where there..& if you needed something they were very timely in responding. In addition, Cambridge has some terrific restaurants w/ a number on the water....In essence 5 stars..!
Gracious, caring hosts in a beautiful, comfortable, well maintained setting.
Our cottage had a beautiful, excellently maintained pool just a few feet from our door and a gorgeous view of the Choptank River just a couple hundred feet across the beautifully maintained lawn. All in all, we couldn't have chosen a more beautiful, tranquil setting in which to enjoy our vacation.
We are right next door to the famous University of Maryland Horn Point Bay Research facility. This is the location where they are growing oysters to repopulate the Chesapeake Bay. they do offer tours, check on their website at www.umces.edu/hpl.
