Tons of activities and beauty directly on Mountain Towne Creek
About Property Manager
I am a former sailboat Captain and dive instructor, though I worked professionally as an archaeologist prior to trading in work boots for flip flops and hitting the Caribbean and Mediterranean for the next 15 years. I love the rivers and mountains as much as the oceans and sand, so I bought a tranquil cabin in the mountains to enjoy some land lubber time. I still travel abroad frequently, but always enjoy coming back to my river mountain hideaway.

Peaceful, perfect, fun vacation
The cabin was perfect and just as described. Plenty of room to move about in and the kitchen was well stocked... all we needed was groceries. We had everything we needed for a 7 day stay. It is a peaceful location where the only sounds you hear are the birds in the trees and the river below. The neighborhood deer are a nice treat and are fun to photograph and watch. We caught many small mouth bass in the river below the cabin. The water was also perfect for tubing or just sitting in the shallows to cool off and relax. The path down to the river is steep so be prepared. On the way back up, I had to take breaks on the benches. The neighborhood was a short distance from town and wasn't too difficult to navigate the roads. We had no problems with the hills in a front wheel drive Honda Pilot. The teenagers loved the big heated pool at the rec center. Laura was the BEST in communicating with us and providing tips on what to do. Her cabin books contain all kinds of information on the surrounding area and maps of the resort. Cell phone service is very limited especially for AT&T so make sure you have all your cabin access information written down. You cannot access the website to obtain cabin information using cellular service. The wifi is excellent and you can use wifi calling on your cell phone once connected. I didn't have any trouble with navigation system in vehicle to get around and Google Maps worked well. We had tons of fun! It was a perfect vacation for everyone. I highly recommend Laura and her beautiful cabin.
Laura is excellent with communication and super friendly. We loved the cabin.
The kids were occupied with tons of games, air hockey, skee ball, board games, atari & Nintendo.... The list goes on!!
The cabin is everything it is pictured to be on website. All the amenities you could ask for. Hot tub was perfect after hiking all day!!
Laura was so great to find us a baby gate for our 2yr old so he wouldn't go upstairs. As soon as I asked, she got her neighbor to bring it over. She had Recommendations for things to do around town.
The house is on the river with little view from cabin and there is a steep hike down to the river so beware!! But there are benches to rest haha!! We didn't get to float like we wanted to from the house, as it ends on private property. With our 2yr old, rafting companies would not take him and we did not have two vehicles to float on our own. Next time we'll have to have more ppl come in order for us all to float. Another visitor said you can put in at Veteran's Memorial Park and float down to the swinging bridge. We will try this next time.
We visited sea creek falls which was AMAZING!! Kids could swim here and it was a short hike. Amicalola falls was beautiful. All waterfalls were about 45min drive from cabin.
Lilly pad village was fun for kids to do gem mining.
Build an Ark is a animal recuse place which takes donations.
The resort is ENORMOUS, with HUNDREDS of deer EVERYWHERE!!
They lay in yards like cats and are not scared of cars.
The pools are great!!! Heated pool and two outdoor pools.
I would definitely recommend staying at rippling waters cabin. Laura was an amazing host!
Very relaxing vacation!
We had a amazing week ! The cabin was perfect for our big family. Kept them active and away from electronics! Laura is an amazing host. She provided everything you need and more!
Owner is very attentive
We enjoyed our visit in spite of storms and losing power. Downtime was much needed. Laura was prepared with lanterns and plenty of games. Home is precious and offered a lot of activities. We just happened to be with a group of senior adults and the hill was a little much for most of us so We were not able to enjoy the water as much as we would have liked..
Laura''s Cabin was just what we needed for a relaxing vacation in the woods. Laura was easy to communicate with. Loved sitting out on the porch listening to the river and playing down by the river. There are lots of things to do on a rainy day as well. Only thing I would have changed was staying a little longer. Laura is very thoughtful and thinks of all the little things. Would highly recommend.
A True Gem
First of all this is the neatest resort area ever! We always go away from it all on vacations and even in a resort you feel truly away from it all. Lots of privacy. Coosawattee is a must stay area. We loved driving around looking for deer. We tubed the Cartecay river. Rented a boat for Carter Lake for the entire day. Swam in the pools. Fished the rivers (caught 2 channel cats and 2 bass). Went hiking. Played giant jenga. Enjoyed the hot tub. Beds sleep amazingly well. The balconies were so nice! Must go to Tumbling Falls. Easy hike with a lot to offer. The downtown area of Ellijay is like a trip to the past. The people are so friendly and the shops and restaurants are wonderful. Definitely eat ice cream downtown. There are a couple of different spots and you’ll not go wrong at any choice. You are not far from the convenience of town. It does take about 10 minutes to get out of the resort from the cabin. There is a pool toward the front entrance and it take about 8 minutes to drive there. There is so much to do. We were at the cabin for a week and still did not see everything within the resort. There is absolutely no way to get bored here. I would not recommend for elderly if they are not active. This place is for those who love nature and do not mind walking up hills. Of course you don’t have to walk hills if you drive everywhere. The trek down to the river at the cabin is steep but worth it. Once at the river, Go to the left and at the bend of the river there is a good fishing hole and swimming spot. Pretty deep. We have a family of four- mom, dad and 2 older teenagers plus our black lab. We were all very sad to leave here. We rarely want to go back to a vacation spot but we would come back here! If you normally go to the Smokey’s - this needs to be your new spot! The owner is amazing and is on top of everything. She was so helpful and even brought our dog a toy! Thanks so much for being such an amazing host and allowing us to stay at your home. Great memories!!
Thank you so much for our kind and thorough review of my home and your adventures! It's so good to hearthat you really took advantage that all the area and my home have to offer. I agree, it's hard to get bored in a place like this with so many beuatiful areas to explore and fun, outdoor things to do. It never gets old. I even found a new waterfall and amazing creek this week that my puppy just loved! I'm so glad your dog like the toys I left. Thanks for sharing the video. He was too cute! I also want to thank you for your patience when the stove malfunctioned. I really lucked out that there was one available and I could get it in there so fast. I'm glad it didn't interfere with your cooking plans than for just that day and I like this stove sooo much better! A blessing in disguise for sure. And lastly, thank you for the care you took in my home during your stay. You'd never know there had been a family there for over a week. Please come back anytime. There's still so many other things to see! Be sure to remind me you stayed before and I can offer a discount. Take care and have a wonderful summer!!!!
