A mix of traditional and contemporary in this beautifully presented cottage

  • 5 of 5

We were very impressed with No 1 The Malthouse which was our 'home' for 3 nights over the Easter holidays. Spotlessly clean with high quality furnishings and fittings including super- comfortable beds. Ideal location just outside Bath, with frequent bus service into the city. Would recommend this property without hesitation.

Lovely cottage in quiet location

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was very tastefully decorated with good quality items and fittings. Very happy with decor and embience of the property. The beds were very comfortable so we all slept well. The bathrooms also great, with all that you needed, showers very nice and good pressure. A welcome pack of bread, tea bags and wine etc greeted us on arrival, many thanks for making our stay in the cottage very memorable for all the right reasons. Will definitely stay again soon.

Great 4+ star accommodation

  • 4 of 5

We stayed three nights at The Malthouse #1 in July and found it very conveniently located with great amenities. The apartment was very clean & well-appointed - and the welcome package was really appreciated! Access to the bus is very close and that is definitely the way to travel to downtown Bath. The area is also lovely to walk and enjoy - lovely birdsong all around. We enjoyed a couple of meals at the Fat Friar just down the road (the breakfast menu is great), had drinks at the pub and got our groceries at the shop by the restaurant - all very convenient. We enjoyed some hot weather during our stay and one suggestion would be to have a fan or two available to provide some cooling. David, the owner, was very helpful and responsive to messages. We recommend The Malthouse #1 as a great place to stay when exploring Bath and area.

nice location

  • 4 of 5

Location was superb, far enough away from town center to be quiet but close enough to walk into town. I loved being able to walk to the pubs and to the footpath that follows the canal. There is also a bus that stops very close by. The living room was comfortable but I would have liked more lighting. The malthouse was a good value and would easily accommodate 4 people.

Owner's Response: We're pleased you enjoyed your stay at The Malthouse. Apparently the string lighting in the living area was faulty which has now been rectified. I apologies for the inconvenience caused and hope this didn't affect your stay too much. David & Terri

Lovely house

  • 5 of 5

Just stayed for 3 nights in this beautiful Malthouse. Had everything you need and a great atmosphere, felt like home. Location is great, after a trip to Morrisons on Friday we parked the car and didn't use it again. We had a lovely walk into Bradford on Avon, 8 miles along the canal and a taxi back. We used the river boat from Bathampton mill into Bath. Would highly recommend the Malthouse and hope to go back.

The location of the Malthouse makes it a great base to explore all the surrounding areas. The roman city of Bath has been designated as a World Heritage Site, with many fascinating historical sites to be seen, some dating back as far as the first century. The world famous roman baths are not one to be missed. As Well as its history Bath has an abundance of designer shops and boutiques, with a wide and varied choice of restaurants, bistros and pubs.
