About David Shinn

When my wife and I travel we always stay in vacation rentals. Not only have we found there's no better (or more comfortable) way to enjoy our adventures, we've also been exposed to some wonderful and charming owners. They've always helped enrich our experiences and made our stays more interesting and enjoyable.

Having lived in Dallas for over 30 years, we'd like to offer that same level of care to our guests. We want to help them experience Dallas in new, different, and exciting ways.

We've owned this property for some time. When it became time to renovate the property we decided to investigate a vacation rental option.

After researching furnished rental opportunities in Dallas we discovered there were few quality opportunities. Considering this property's unique characteristics, central location, and complete renovation made it an easy decision to bring it to market and offer it to you.

Our hope is that you enjoy the space and make staying with us a regular event.

Well Stocked and Well Located

The owner has thought of all the details a guest may need to have a great stay. Maps, restaurant reviews and recommendations, a well-stocked kitchen and comfy beds. Perfect!

Best of all, the location is excellent! You are 10 minutes to downtown by car and 10 minutes to the hip and happening Greenville Ave by foot. Food truck parks, restaurants, shops, and nightlife are minutes away from your home.

Location! Location! Location!

A cozy 2 bedroom, 1 bath rental that is within 2 blocks of bars, restaurants, wine bar, live music! If you need a great place to stay and want to leave your car parked, this is the place! The beds are comfortable, the kitchen has most everything you can need and the bathroom is nicely renovated. Parking is easy and accessible and David, the owner, is quick to respond to any calls/texts/emails.

My only warning is to bring shower supplies: shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryer.

My husband and I would definitely stay again anytime!

Perfect location and definitely "charming"!!!

I traveled to Dallas to spend time with some good friends and stayed in this property for 4 nights. I have to say the pictures don't really do it justice at all! It was just as charming as described and the location is out of this world - just a short, short walk to Greenville Ave. (10 minutes max) I had breakfast more than once at John's Cafe (a definite recommendation) and perused the record store nearby, taking home several goodies.

Both bedrooms have more than adequate space and are very comfortable. Plus, the kitchen was updated and well-stocked. There's simply everything you might need there. The whole place was clean and inviting. My Dallas friends RAVED about the place and I will definitely be booking this place again, the next time I'm there. Hopefully, I'll get to take advantage of the lovely porch next time as I ended up in Dallas for the coldest week they've seen in a while. It even snowed!!

The best part, to be sure, was the owner's responsiveness and flexibility. It was a seamless transaction and he was SO friendly, I felt very comfortable. I had the bad luck to drop the coffee maker carafe and it broke - when I let David know, he very quickly assured me that accidents happen and no big deal. I just replaced the coffee maker and all was well. I appreciated his quick response.

As of Jan 2017, the neighborhood around the house is up and coming, lots of renovations going on so be aware that there are work trucks parked on the street during the days and some minor construction noise but it was absolutely not a problem at all.

Great place to stay

In town for a few days meeting some friends and wanted a place to 'hang out' and catch up - not a hotel room. This was perfect. Loved the front balcony to hang out in. Everything was clean. Location was nice to take a walk to some restaurants and bars. Also went jogging by some old large historical homes. Owner was easy to work with. Parking was complicated as we have a large truck and the downstairs tenants kept blocking driveway - but we found street parking fairly easy.

Good location; comfortable apartment

Found this place to stay with family while in Dallas for a wedding. It was fantastic. Conveniently/centrally located. Liquor store, bars, restaurants are all in easy walking distance. David was very accommodating and easy-going for check-in and check-out. The apartment was clean and we had everything we needed. We enjoyed having the living space and the flexibility; this absolutely beats a hotel.
