Thanks for viewing Sea Lion. Please be aware that for the months of July + August the traditional rental on Nantucket runs from Saturday - Saturday, or Sunday - Sunday. Off-season I rent for weekends (or longer), but during the two months of July and August I prefer a 7 day rental. Thanks again, and I look forward to hosting you this summer!
Nantucket is a magical little island located 30 miles off the shores of Cape Cod. It's steeped in the history of its whaling founding fathers. Grey shingled houses dot the coastline, the streets in town are paved in cobblestones, and the harbor is filled with boats well traveled. It's the perfect summer or fall getaway. Sea Lion is a 4 bedroom house in Tom Nevers east. The property has loads of privacy, and is comfortable for a family or group of friends. The classic Tom Nevers water view is surpassed only by the sunsets and stars that shine so close you can touch them. The back deck is a favorite spot of all to sit and enjoy the sunset, or gaze at the stars. At night you can hear the ocean. When the moon is full you can see it shining on the water and watch the waves in the moonlight. On a clear night you can also lay in the master bedroom and look at the stars through the skylight.
The open-plan living area is large enough to fit a group of 8. The 55" 4K Ultra HD TV is fully loaded with all the sports and movie channels you could ask for, as well as a smart TV where you can sign into your own Netflix or Amazon Prime as well.
There is a large grill and picnic table on the lower back deck - great for brunch or dinner. And the kitchen is full service - you can cook to your hearts content.
Tom Nevers east is a peaceful residential neighborhood. The house is about .75 miles from the beach - you can walk to the local beach or get in the car and try out a new beach every day. Nantucket is an island, after all. It's a very safe neighborhood to let your kids ride their bikes, and it's less than 2 miles from Sconset where you will find a market for emergency brownies or hot, fresh baked baguettes after 4PM.
A car is ideal (you'll notice my red Jeep in the driveway - it is NOT, I repeat NOT part of your rental, please just let her sit). If you don't have a car the island has UBER (it's about $20 to get to town) and taxis. The Sconset - Town bus line is also fairly close (there's a stop on Milestone Road) which is only $2 each way and has a bike rack as well.
FYI there is no mail service in Tom Nevers, so if you need something sent to you during your stay it must come either UPS or FedEx in order to make it to the door. Cell phone service is also shoddy (unless you have AT&T). There is a house phone for local calls, and there's also full wifi - here's a tip enable your phone for wifi calling and you should be able to get and receive them in the house when on wifi.
