About George

I'am a 5th generation San Francisco native who has renovated and restored this classic SF Victorian Home to it's original glory. Pictures do not do justice it was built in 1875 and is one of the first homes in the Marina/Cow Hollow district. Come and enjoy it's the best!

George purchased this house in 2012

Why George chose San Francisco

I really love this home. It's just a great combination of San Francisco History, built in 1875, with the San Francisco of today. The photo is from the Marina which is a short walk from Scott Street. All that come here enjoy the location and history that this property has to offer.

What makes this house unique

Location, safety, views, great restaurants nightlife and shopping. Reviews by travelers confirm all of this.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We came to SF with our daughter, son-in-law & our 2 teenage grandsons to experience the city and take in a show. The city of love :-) did not disappoint - and neither did this wonderful old home. This was a perfect space for us - lots of room and quiet spaces - totally equipped with everything we needed. This old home was very welcoming. The high ceilings and beautifully decorated space made us feel as if we had stepped into the home of George Bailey in - It's a Wonderful Life. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you George!

Perfectly beautiful home in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This house has beauty, character, roominess and a great location. The house has four spacious bedrooms with luxurious bedding and comfy pillows. I slept better in the master bed than I do in my own home. There is nothing I would change about it. I recommend staying her, as I have a few times already.

Could not be more perfect

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted with the house from the moment we pulled up in front (to a parking place we could count on throughout our stay!). We felt like residents of San Francisco, not visitors to the city. The neighborhood is lovely and close to everything -- restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops bars, everything. Especially appreciated was the little piece of heaven out back, the garden patio surrounded by trees and flowers where we ate breakfast every morning.

The high ceilings, wood floors and lovely architectural details made this 19th-century place all the more special. The rooms are large, full of light, and filled with comfortable furniture (good mattresses!) and interesting artwork, collectibles and books. The kitchen contained everything we needed to cook a nice dinner for family in town for the wedding we were attending. The large dining-room table would've accommodated at least four more than the six of us gathered around it.

George Nicoud is the perfect host. He met us at the house and gave us the tour, answered all our questions, and made sure we could easily reach him if we needed to.

We had a wonderful time in San Francisco. While beautiful weather, a happy and imaginative wedding and the presence of loved ones from across the country were key factors, I have to say that the "House of Family and Friends" set the tone for the whole trip. Bravo, George, and many thanks.

Perfect Choice! Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

We chose this home for our "3 generation" girl's trip to the city and it was a fabulous choice. It is spacious and has tons character. The location is perfect! It is close to all the tourist attractions but far enough away that you aren't surrounded by tourist. We walked to the market and enjoyed a few of the restaurants in Cow Hollow, we used the get around app and drove to Muir Woods and Sausalito, we rode the trolly to Union Square and toured Alcatraz. George was very accommodating and friendly. We had a wonderful time! Thanks George!
