About Ronnie Boggs
I grew up in Southern Illinois and spent a lot of my youth in Shawnee Forrest. My family had a camper business so we would load up the trail bikes and head down Route 45 to Camp Cadiz, Dogwood Hollow, Garden of the Gods, Bell Smith Springs... hit them all! This property in Steelville became available back in 2010 and I instantly feel in love with it. If I didn't work in St Louis, I would probably stay there every night.
Ronnie Boggs purchased this Cabin in 2010
Why Ronnie Boggs chose Steelville
To be honest, I have tried to find another property like this closer to where I work, but I can't. There is something uniquely balanced at this property that makes you not want to leave!
What makes this Cabin unique
So many recreational opportunities and everything is reasonably priced. The local people are friendly and welcome visitors to come experience their historic town.

Really enjoyed our stay. Convenient, quiet location. Very nicely appointed cabin with everything we needed on beautiful property. Enjoyed hiking and the little shops and restaurants in town.
Beautiful and relaxing; owner a joy to work with!
The owner of this cabin is very easy to work with. His communication is great and he goes out of his way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. The cabin is beautiful and very relaxing. My boy, 12 and 13, really loved being near nature and playing out in the back. Thank you for a great getaway!
Peaceful getaway in the woods
We thoroughly enjoyed the homey cabin, lovely wooded setting, and peaceful location. Just what we were looking for! As a bonus, the cabin was well-stocked with many staples, condiments, dishes and cookware, so it was easy to enjoy the food we brought without having to make countless trips back to the store (which was close, when we needed it!) We hope to return!
Lovely property, exactly as pictured.
Great cabin! Very nice...definitely not roughing it! Rustic and charming but with all the comforts you'd want for. Comfortable beds, lovely property, owner very responsive and easy to work with. Highly recommend for some family time.
Thanks for the kind words. Happy enjoyed your stay.
Perfect Ozark Getaway!
This cabin is perfect to get away into the amazing Ozark Mountains! The cabin was clean, well set up and had just the right amount of space. Ronnie was a great host providing all the info we needed for our weekend. Also the cabin is close enough to Steelville to easily run there for dinner or supplies. Floating, hiking, MNT Biking, fishing and tons of other great activities are just minutes away from this cabin.
Always good to hear when our guests get out and enjoy all the activities the area has to offer. Hope to see you again!
"Rustic" Hidden Gem in the Meramec Valley
Our group stayed at this little cabin in middle September and were absolutely charmed by our experience. The cabin maintains a homey, rustic feel while providing all the conveniences and comforts of modern living. The fully stocked kitchen and access to a massive grill complete with an off-set smoker was an absolute home-run. It certainly complimented the copious amounts of meats and pleasant scotch enjoyed by the firepit in the evening.
Ronnie was a spectacular host. He was highly communicative through out the booking process and checked in with us several times in advance of our stay to ensure we were provided with all the necessary details to ensure a fantastic and worry-free weekend. I especially enjoyed the addition of the locally made soaps for proper scrubbing after a long day hike. Great spot for a low-key weekend spent playing board games and enjoying a few brews on the porch front.
Highly recommended. 10/10
Thanks for the kind words, Adam. Glad to hear your event was a success!
