About Steve M Armstrong

Steve Armstrong is a Tampa Bay Realtor with Smith & Associates Real Estate who enjoys spending time in Western North Carolina. Our NC property was originally purchased as a place our family could enjoy all of the beauty of the area and the excitement in Asheville. We look forward to shaing this place with you and your family.

Steve M Armstrong purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Steve M Armstrong chose Blue Ridge Mountains

For several years I looked for an escape that was remote but still close to Asheville. After many attempts to get what I wanted, we had just about given up. When this foreclosed unfinished property came available, I saw the perfect opportunity to have that dream. The home has a very steep driveway that winds up to the homesite which give you a feel that you are away from civilization. With 28 acres on mountain top views. We decided this would be our private retreat.

What makes this cabin unique

With our back porch with rocking chairs and a swing overlooking the valley, we hope you enjoy this truely modern cabin. As remote as the home is, there is plenty to do in the area. Please note gravel driveway is very steep, however there are two landing areas to park in if you cant get up. 4 Wheel Drive, All Wheel Drive, Rear wheel drive recommended.

Truly a Appalachian beauty...If you want a fantastic location and private setting this is the one.

  • 5 of 5

This majestic home is located in the most picturesque region of the Western Carolina mountain range with long range views and plenty of river's and creeks surrounding it. The house is wonderfully decorated and has all the modern comfort's you will ever need. the owner Steve is a WONDERFUL person and we couldn't ask for a better host for our vacation.

Don't forget to make sure you have a all wheel or four wheel drive for your journey thru the mountains..We will definitely return to this wonderful vacation home in the Appalachian mountains.

Thank you Steve.

Nice cabin, very scary incline

  • 2 of 5

Some of the reviews mention the high incline. I have to say they are not exaggerating. As a Florida girl I got very nervous when the SUV (AWD) started slipping more than once. The goods news is we made it! :) and the cabin was spectacular. It was Decorated beautifully and the beds were all comfortable. We brought our dogs: one large dog and one 5 pound chihuahua. We paid the $300 pet fee (not deposit) and had no issues with that request. The smaller dog gets nervous and this was a new location so there is a Chance he had an accident but I never saw it. Upon our leaving I made sure the beds were made, counters wiped, garbage packed in the SUV (gross but we did it because the owner requested it), and did a final walk through. Apparently I missed two accidents. (Key word accident). The owner wrote me a less than polite email explaining how disrespectful we were and in all his years he's never experienced such disrespect. We left the cabin perfectly clean. The tiny accident from the chihuahua I'm sure was very small and we paid him the pet fee and the standard cleaning fee so his aggressive email was surprising based on the amount of the two fees combined. In all the cabin was cute. The owner not so much.

Owner's Response: Sorry for the bad experience but I have never had someone leave 2 dog 'accidents' and not clean it up.

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

Great Place! The touches, comforts made it better than described. Owner accommodated last minute plans, like booking a hotel.

Driveway: after anticipation, we actually enjoyed it in our mid-size SUV, our son's small Kia Rio started to roll backwards at (what I found to be) the only critical point. No problem with the Rio in 1st gear. Enjoy!

Beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

My family and i stayed here for 2 nights recently. The house is furnished very nicely with all the comforts of home and very clean. Steve was fabulous in assisting with check in and reachable for anything else we needed. The property is very private and our three daughters ages 8, 4, and 1.5 loved the nearby creeks.
