Why Steve M Armstrong chose Marshall
For several years I looked for an escape that was remote but still close to Asheville. After many attempts to get what I wanted, we had just about given up. When this foreclosed unfinished property came available, I saw the perfect opportunity to have that dream. The home has a very steep driveway that winds up to the homesite which give you a feel that you are away from civilization. With 28 acres on mountain top views. We decided this would be our private retreat.
What makes this Cabin unique
With our back porch with rocking chairs and a swing overlooking the valley, we hope you enjoy this truely modern cabin. As remote as the home is, there is plenty to do in the area. Please note gravel driveway is very steep, however there are two landing areas to park in if you cant get up. 4 Wheel Drive, All Wheel Drive, Rear wheel drive recommended.

What a Beautiful Get away!
What a beautiful place, so peaceful. Just bring your clothes and some food! Enjoy the rest! I hope to come back many more years!
Great time of year to visit!
Very nice and quiet. Very remote
We had a great experience at this mountain house. It is very remote and quiet. There were a million stars visible. There is a great kitchen with two bathrooms and split bedrooms. The washer and dryer was great for our family's stay.
The house was very clean and well equipped. Even though there was a lot of wildlife around the outside, there were no bugs inside.
There are a couple of things that anyone going to the house should know. The house is remote. Every trip to town is a full trip because town is not really close. Also the driveway is very steep and has switch backs. Finally, cellphone reception was sketchy at best. None of these things are positive or negative by themselves but they should be considered.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay! Thank you!
Thanks for the great review! I am glad you enjoyed the visit. Thanks for pointing out the fact that we are a true mountain escape.
Great place to get away and relax. You can make it as busy or as relaxing as you want.
Private Mountain Escape
Being new to VRBO, we didn't really know what to expect ... but we REALLY enjoyed this private mountain escape. It was far enough away to feel like you were out on your own ... but close enough to everything to feel like you could explore at leisure. The cabin was well stocked with all of the essentials (even a crock pot). The washer and dryer made it convenient to keep laundry clean.
We didn't have any cell reception (thanks, AT&T) ... but thankfully the cabin had a landline that worked without any problems. It also had satellite wi-fi (which is slower than standard providers like Comcast, etc.) ... but works! The beds were comfy and the back porch was a great place to watch the sun rise/set.
Fortunately, it didn't rain until we were headed out. Our Ford Escape (2WD) made it up the hill without any problems (Our visit was in August. I think we definitely would have needed 4WD had our stay been during the cold of winter though).
Clean cabin in great area
Had a wonderful stay. Tons of outdoor adventures in the area. The cabin is in a beautiful setting and the cabin itself is very clean and nicely decorated. Will definitely come back.
Thanks for staying and glad you enjoyed.
great secluded cabin
I stayed at the cabin for a week in July with my wife and two little girls, 3 and 6yrs old. The location is great, far from the crowds. No visible neighbors from the cabin and mostly locals nearby. The driveway is steep and long, quite the hike to climb and makes it more fun. The cabin itself is well appointed with all necessities we would expect and much more. We used the fire pit often for roasting marshmallows and kielbasa. All the extras were above and beyond our expectations. Steve, the owner, was quick to respond and highly involved in the cabin making it a great experience and just a place to stay. We definately plan to visit again.
Thanks for the great review sorry about the driveway!
Come back and enjoy
