Aloha and welcome to our retreat in Wailea, Maui, the heart of paradise. No effort has been spared to pamper you and make your stay in our newly renovated vacation home a delightful experience. Our stunning 1200+ square foot condominium has been tastefully remodeled, with new tile, paint, appliances, and casually elegant furniture selected piece by piece for beauty, comfort, and island style.
The spacious floor plan and numerous windows create a bright and airy ambiance. The dining and living rooms both open to the generous ground-floor double lanai, blurring the distinction between the charming interior and the tropical beauty just outside. The convenient, welcoming layout feels more like a vacation home than a rental, featuring Tommy Bahama furnishings, a Vera Wang mattress on the California-King master bed, Bosch and Cuisinart appliances, Henckels knives, teak outdoor dining furniture (with seating for 6), a 42-inch flat screen TV with cable service, Harman Kardon blue-ray disc player and stereo, wireless internet—even the queen-size sofa bed has been upgraded with a memory foam mattress. The second bedroom has two twin beds that can be jointed into a single king.
The kitchen is well appointed with dinner service for eight, myriad kitchen gadgets, and additional appliances like a blender and coffee grinder—so that you may enjoy the full range of Hawaii’s favorite beverages. You will also find a full set of Calphalon cookware and a variety of spices in our pantry, in case you decide to stay in for dinner and grill a fresh-caught mahi-mahi on the tiled lanai’s private barbecue.
We are constantly updating and improving even though we receive 5 star reviews from our guests. The guest bathroom has been fully remodeled. We also tiled the Master Bathroom En-Suite area and removed the wall to to wall carpet. In 2015, the pool area of The Palms at Wailea was upgraded to tile.
In May 2017, we installed a split Air Conditioning Unit which means we now have air conditioning in both bedrooms and the living area.
Another recent upgrade is our free WiFi service. We realized that the current download speeds were not sufficient for streaming, so we upgraded to a faster speed. The feedback from our guests says they appreciate us paying for this upgrade to the standard service.
In addition, our vacation home is stocked with everything you might need for a day at the ocean—towels, chairs, umbrella, cooler, and even a wheeled cart to tote it all to and from the beach. Keawakapu Beach, one of our favorites in all of Maui, is only a 10-minute stroll (or 5-minute drive) away. Don't worry about forgetting your condo keys - we provide you with a private code that allows keyless access.
The fifteen acres of open, beautifully landscaped grounds at the Palms surround newly tiled (May 2015) whale shaped salt-water pool & Jacuzzi with an amazing ocean view. Our unit has a convenient shortcut path to the pool. A clubhouse above the pool area features a covered outdoor lounge area complete with a refrigerator, tables/chairs, restrooms & a covered library area with wireless internet access, and there is an activity desk available to help you plan your days on Maui.
In addition to its luxurious amenities and beautiful grounds, the Palms at Wailea offers visitors convenience to all that Maui has to offer. Only 16 miles from Kahului Airport, the Palms is only a short drive away from the supermarkets, restaurants, beaches, and ice cream shops of Kihei. The upscale Shops at Wailea are within walking distance, as is the famed “Wailea Beach Walk,” a favorite running or strolling route through the oceanfront grounds of Wailea’s resorts.

Clean, well maintained and everything we needed. Felt like we were at home.
Great location for doing all the things we wanted to do.
Our party included 4 adults , a 10 year old ,and a 4 year old. We arrived late evening and enjoyed the keyless entry. Walking in we noticed it was hot, not warm. The furniture was old and looked very used.It took 3 hours for the house to air out and cool down.
That first night we just grabbed a bed.
There is no true 2nd bedroom. Look closely at pictures 7 and 19. They show the bedroom easily accessible from the entire living space. The beds are separated from the living space only by 4 slated doors. The is no privacy in the 2nd bedroom. NONE.
Because of this if someone is trying to sleep or rest in that bedroom the ENTIRE living space is unusable. Even the Lanai is off limits.
If one member of your group is up at 6am you all are up! The big TV in the living room cannot be used if anyone is sleeping. It is not a deal breaker as long as you realize the unit is not good for 2 couples or families with teenagers or young children .
The kitchen was well stocked and we were greatful for the pantry food. We used some and added some.
There was more than enough beach equipment. Umbrellas, chairs, cooler, and boogie boards. We added sand toys for all to enjoy.
We asked for, and received, a late checkout time. For this we did all the wash. We washed every towel and bedsheet. The washer was old and the spin cycle would not work. We had to hand turn the washer to spin and pray it would work. We could not put wash in and do something else. I had told Erin about this earlier.
We left the place swept, fridge cleaned out, all baths cleaned, all garbage out, no fans or air conditioners on. All laundry done. We left 4 rolls of extra toilet paper and extra paper towels. Note! No extra toilet paper provided! Plan ahead. The stove was scrubbed all dishes done nothing in the dishwasher. On my way out I took 2 videos and 25 still photos.
Good thing I did!!!! I was called 3 days later and was told we had left the place a mess. I was told the air conditioning was left on and caused problems. I explained about the pictures I had that were time stamped. I was told we would not get our security deposit back and we would owe more for the air conditioning. Having a small child with us part of the sliding screen lanai door was “loose”. No holes just loose. I was told I would be charged for a replacement screen.
We worked it out.... because I had photos!!!I was charge $60 for what I thought was normal use on the sliding screen.
Take photos!!! Protect yourself!
To our future guests reading the above review: Please keep in mind we have been renting our beautiful condo for 6 years, have 74 5-star reviews, and several repeat guests.
1) All second bedrooms at The Palms at Wailea are enclosed with slatted sliding doors.
2) Washer: When I was informed of the issue with the spin cycle, I had a repairman over the next day. He needed to order a part which takes time since we live on an island. He told me to instruct the guest to do small loads and then put them back on spin after the cycle ended. They never notified me that this was not working. If they had, I would have arranged for a laundry service. The part arrived after the guests checked out, and our washer (which is only 3 years old) is now operational.
3) I allowed the guests a late checkout free of charge. When my cleaner arrived the next morning, all 3 air conditioning units were on with the temperature set at 62 degrees. The windows were actually showing condensation from the extreme cold. Our lock system indicates if anyone else has entered the unit. No one had entered and although the guests suggested that maybe the remote control timers were on, when I checked them the next day, there were no timers set. They had walked out the door at 5pm and left all the units running for the night.
4) Toilet paper: Our cleaning service leaves 2 rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom. If she did forget to do this, it was an over-sight and has never happened before.
5) The lanai screen door was damaged in 2 areas: the bottom and the side. We had just re-screened that door 2 weeks prior. Normal use of a screen door does not leave it damaged.
6) Guest never showed any photos or video that they claim they took.
7) I only charged this guest the cost of the screen repair and did not charge for the excess electricity from the air conditioning units being left on. I think this is more than fair. Our electric bill was much more than normal.
8) I never told them they would not be getting their damage deposit back, I only informed them that I would be deducting for the cost of the screen repair.
9) I am sorry they never reached out to discuss their obvious displeasure with our beautiful condo. As you can see from all of our other reviews, I am readily available if our guests have issues or concerns.
Loved, loved, loved it.
Truly one of the nicest, spacious condos we have stayed in and we've stayed in a lot. The fact that it was ground floor was a big plus, nothing worse than climbing stairs at the end of the day and it's better than hauling luggage and groceries up them too! It was nice that there was plenty of laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, everything you need to get started with and maybe enough for your whole stay. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, baking dishes, spices, almost everything you need, including a blender and lots of glasses for those special drinks!
One of our favorite places was the lanai, great for relaxing with a drink or eating breakfast there in the morning.
The pool at the condo is totally awesome and really big (it's in the shape of a whale). Hot tub is nice too! At night you can sit upstairs by the pool in the outdoor lobby and watch the sunset (that is if you're too tired to go to the beach for it!). Sunsets in Maui are awesome!
All your beach needs are there too, such as coolers, beach towels, beach chairs, sack chairs, umbrellas and a cart to haul them in. Every detail well thought out.
I was fortunate enough to meet Erin and she truly cares about the people staying in her condo and even had a welcome gift waiting for us upon our arrival. I must say it is truly nicer than the pictures show.
I find that I like the Wailea area a lot. Warmer and not so wet and windy. I do strongly suggest that you rent your own car. Things are not right there, but VERY easy to get to. There are many restaurants and stores within a SHORT driving distance, but you'll want to venture out for different things as well. Make sure to go to Haleakala for a sunrise, take the Road to Hana and go on to the Seven Sacred Pools and just a bit further for the burial site of Charles Lindbergh. Go snorkeling with "Trilogy II" out to Molokini, you won't be disappointed. Go to Black Rock Beach and snorkel or jump off the huge rock there! Take in a luah in Lahaina, I highly recommend "The Feast of Lele".
There are great walking paths by some of the beaches, but I think the best are in Kaanapli and Wailea (your backyard). You can stop and have a drink or eat at several of the hotel beach bars that are there.
That being said, I hope to return one day. Hope this helps any of you that are thinking of staying here to make to right decision - STAY! Just don't book it when I want to come back! And then relax, you're on Maui Time!!
The Palm in Maui
Been to Maui many times but 1st time at this condo. The condo is very spacious and also convenient to weilea and beaches. It comes with everything you need for beach activities. Beating on ground floor is a plus, that you have a much bigger deck than 2nd floor. Loved watching sun come up on over mountain view. There is no complaints about this condo.
I would stay here again.
Perfect vacation home in Maui
My wife and I visit Maui twice every year, for weeks at at time. We have stayed at high-end resorts and other condos, and this condo is, without question, the best place we have stayed. Great, quiet location at the Palms with a large lanai, very comfortable furniture, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor grille and dining table/chairs, A/C throughout (although not needed very often), squeaky clean, parking close to front door . . . all the amenities of home. Erin was very helpful in providing everything we needed for a seamless arrival and visit. After a few days, the condo really started to feel like our home away from home. We are already planning on a return trip next year. This is a perfect place for a relaxing vacation.
We return every year to this lovely unit in the Palms. Erin does a tremendous job of keeping it well stocked and in great condition. Beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas and coolers all included. BBQ and a lovely outdoor teak patio table. My only complaint has nothing to do with this unit or the management it is the new $270 dollar VRBO charge. So it used to be that they charged the owners directly for displaying their properties and not the guests and now they charge both, double dipping or call it what you will we will never use VRBO again, anywhere.
