Welcome to Fort Wilderness Lodge...A custom built haven nestled in a very secluded and private, plush green setting at the tip top of Shagbark Hickory Ridge on an acre of level property, with 3 Master Bedroom Suites, 3.5 Bathrooms, Luxurious Upscale Furnishings, tastefully decorated, very family friendly, two level log cabin located in the Exclusive Gated Mountain Community of Shagbark, which offers a community center, swimming pool, tennis court and basketball.

If you're looking for an out-of-this-world-experience, YOU'VE JUST FOUND IT! This awesome majestic masterpiece is sure to please.

All three master bedroom suites are complete with log furnishings featuring king size pillow top mattresses and each with their own private full bathroom. The rooms boast satellite service LCD televisions and DVD players. There are two sleeper sofas for extra guests. A convenient stackable washer-dryer is tucked away in a downstairs closet.

The main living area of the house is on the upper level taking full advantage of the mountain views. The impressive den boasts a warm floor to ceiling stone gas fireplace, lots of floor-to-ceiling windows, a cathedral exposed beam ceiling, and a guest bathroom. Curl up in front of the DirecTV satellite television with dvr/dvd player, on the comfy leather sofa, love seat, over sized chair or take an afternoon nap in the man sized rocker/recliner. On one side of the den, you will find the main master bedroom suite and bath which includes a walk-in shower and whirlpool tub. To the left of the den is the spacious, fully equipped kitchen designed for ease in preparing meals for even the largest groups. A breakfast bar separates the kitchen from the formal dining room which is totally surrounded by floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the incredible view.

The first floor is where you'll find the other two master bedroom suites and fun game room. You won't have to worry about entertainment with the 7 foot slate pool table, satellite television with DVD player, books, games, puzzles, cards and movies.

Both floors open out to huge porch decks that provide a perfect place to sit back and soak in the breathtaking views this cabin has to offer. The relaxing five person hot tub is located on the lower deck.

While the parents are relaxing on the porch or cooking on the gas barbecue grill, they can enjoy the log rockers or the fun picnic table while watching the youngsters play on an awesome playground complete with glider, swings, slide, climbing wall, playhouse, teeter-totter and dome monkeybars.

We hope you enjoy nature and abundant wildlife because wild turkeys wander the meadow and hillsides. It's not uncommon to spot squirrels, raccoon, 'possum, deer and bear in the woods. Spring is enhanced by the hillsides of flowering shrubs and trees. Wildflowers peek through the fallen leaves to delight the hiker. Fall colors sweep throughout the community in vibrant reds, oranges and yellows. You will find miles of scenic spots like the meadow along clear fork creek where you can fly kites, chip golf balls or enjoy a family picnic or a peaceful hike. Magnificent views across the horizon can be seen showcasing beautiful Tennessee sunsets, sunrises and spectacular rolling mountain scenes.

About Phyllis Walker

I am the mother of three wonderful children and Mimi to eight fabulous grandchildren. My home is in South Florida but I fell in love with the Smoky Mountains at a young age while traveling with my parents. It has been my lifetime dream to own a cabin, so this adventure has been my dream come true. We settled on this area because of the abundant activities throughout the whole year. We hope you enjoy staying at our cabin as much as we do and encourage you to explore all that this beautiful region has to offer.

Phyllis Walker purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Phyllis Walker chose Sevierville

My family and I have enjoyed spending holidays in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, so when making the decision to purchase a cabin, I needed one large enough that we all could sleep comfortably and enjoy our own private bathrooms. After searching for several months, this cabin was listed and it offered everything I was looking for. Plus it was a bonus that it has a children's playground and is in a gated community which offers 24-7 security so I and my guests can always feel safe.

What makes this cabin unique

My cabin is located on a mountaintop ridge at the dead end of the road on an acre of mostly flat land with no "thru" traffic. I wanted a secluded, private, flat, quiet and peaceful wooded property that was protected by security. It was important that there was a view of the distant mountains as I like to sit on the deck to watch the sunrise and sunsets.

Guestbook comments from the owner

hank you for sharing your cabin with us - we had a wonderful time! We came from NE Mississippi and followed the GPS in - we thought we were WAY out of the way! We felt much better when we realized how short of a drive we were from everything. Our stay was short - we brought along a 3 month old and a 20 month old!! You have a great kid friendly place for their first vacation. Sam loved the tractor and letters in the toy bin under the pool table. Everyone else enjoyed it!

Great Person to Work With

  • 5 of 5

I have not actually stayed at this cabin, but wanted to let everybody now how great the owner is. I had this cabin reserved for the end of March and paid my deposit. I was recently informed by the owner that there was a mistake and my weekend had already been booked by someone else. She not only refunded my deposit in a timely manner, but also helped me find another cabin. I would highly suggest this owner to anyone. Thank you again Phyllis for all of your help and time.

It was a wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean and very comfortable. There were seven ladies in our group and we had plenty of room and all slept comfortably. The home is beautiful and had everything we needed. I highly recommend that when you arrive, you get there before dark. We were late arriving and the roads were treacherous after dark. The driveway is gravel and very steep but once you conquer that, everything is perfect. The owner is wonderful and very helpful. Very smooth process.

Awesome Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I visited Fort Wilderness Lodge 10/4 - 10/8 and we were very impressed with the cabin. It is "fully loaded" with everything you'll need for your stay, including a fully stocked kitchen (just bring the food!). We had a total of 11 people (4 being young children) and the space accommodated our needs with a sofa bed unused. The king beds are so spacious and comfy. Everything was super clean and not too far from the main Parkway in Pigeon Forge - I guess it took about 20 minutes or so, but honestly wasn't a bad ride and didn't feel like it took that long to get there.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider it for future visits!

My friends and I spent a long weekend at this cabin and we had the best time ever. The cabin was clean and in great shape. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the amenitites (pool table, video games). The highlight of the weekend was a bear walking right by us while we were sitting out on the deck. Will definitely be coming back to Phyllis' cabin.

Fort Wilderness Lodge is Breathtaking!!!

  • 5 of 5

This home was so comfortable. The décor is stunning. The beds are awesome. This cabin can give you a feeling of being outdoors in luxury! You can watch the stars out the master bedroom window, see wild turkeys walk across the front yard and see a magnificent sunset thru the dining room and living room windows! The hot tub is so relaxing that you will want to spend hour in it. And the whirlpool tub in the master bath is great for relaxing by candle light. The kitchen is well stocked. There are lots of movies to watch and games to play. The pool table was nice to have there. And if you have children, there is a nice playground in the yard!!! Phyllis is great to work with. She is very informative of the area. One restaurant in particular, The Pottery House, has great food. I really recommend that everyone try it. Tubing on the Little River, with River Rage, is a must! So much fun. And don't forget the Alpine Coasters!!!! Everyone should do the Cades Cove tour, we seen a bear in a field!!! There is so much to do in this area, I will have to revisit for many years to cover it all.
