About Marti Barnette
We rented Mountain Vacation cabins for years, and fell in love with the Clayton area. So much so that we bought a home there. We now own other cabins which we share with others as rentals, so that they may enjoy this area as much as we do. If this cabin is booked, please ask if we have others available nearby.
Marti Barnette purchased this Cabin in 2012

We had a great stay very clean cabin
We were a little confused looking for the cabin just because it was night time and it has a small sign with the house number on it.
Not much room to maneuver your vehicles. Bring your own trash bags.
Very peaceful and relaxing. Only one tv upstairs in the living area. You have to cross a creek to get to the cabin so a truck or 4x4 may be required depending on weather or time of year. And the bed could be better.
Heater did not work. No extra blankets. Best have ATV or 4wheel drive to get to cabin.
I would not book again. Owner did have repair service fix the heater the next day and offered another cabin for the first cold night. Rather than move out we opted to stay inspite of cold. We managed by keeping the oven on. Cabin is small. Road up to the cabin needs work. Small stream nearly washed out road. The time spent with my family was great regardless of inconveniences. I really expected better for the price. The cabin is a long drive from anywhere. Not near a lake.
We offered to move this renter
and they refused. There was a gas heater in wall that heats the entire downstairs and we provided a heater for the upstairs to heat it. The roads don’t require a tab or 4 wheel car, even though that helps when your coming to the mountain s to get around on some roads. We called the heating to come out, but they couldn’t come until the next
Morning. Which they did.
There were blankets in chest at bottom of beds
We can control a lot but not the weather. This weekend was hit by a lot of rain and a cold front.
I offered them a discount on their next stay. They weren’t in a cold cabin because the back up heat does heat this cabin.
They could have just moved to our other cabin. They chose not to. They wanted a free weekend.
Cute and cozy cabin
Great little cabin in the woods. It could use some updating but overall it was perfect for us to get away from hurricane Irma
We had a great time. We didn't run into any problems. The cabin was clean and ready for us. We were close to everything we had planned to do.
Property needs some minor repairs, which I have pointed out to Marti.
Apparently the cleaning service is not keeping owner advised of issues with the property.
Secluded cabin near Lake Burton marina on a beautiful mountain road, surrounded by forest. Georgia ORV trail is 1 min. Clayton 15 mins. Helen 20 mins. The perfect location for cycling, biking, rafting, kayaking. 4 mins to Lake Burton Marina and shops. 4 mins. To Mocassin Creek State Park, 4 mins to Mocassin Creek hiking trail. 10 mins to Tallulah Gorge. Beautiful mountain trails and driving in every direction . 506th Paratrooper Museum at Toccoa is a must see (from the movie Band of Brothers).
