5-10 minute walk to downtown Ashland from this upstairs Carriage House apartment. Wonderful views of mountains and hills, light and bright with vaulted ceiling. Full kitchen, queen size pillow top bed, fireplace, garden patio, ambiance galore. All of Ashland is just a stroll away.
I moved to Ashland 9 years ago and am in love with this town. There is so much to do here - as one of my clients remarked 'this is a day camp for adults!' The people are so friendly and everyone seems engaged in life.
Barbara Hetland purchased this studio in 2003
The home and apartment are so close to everything - a short stroll to downtown, theaters at night, restaurants galore, bike path out the front door, coffee shop 4 doors down the street. Wonderful yard, veggie garden, and patio with fountain.
Ashland is surrounded by mountains and you get a birds eye view of them from your lodging. It is warm and inviting. A very happy place.
This was our second stay at the Carriage House, and we hope to make many more memories here! Some of our personal highlights: Having wine and chocolate waiting to greet us, beautiful views from the windows, a fully appointed bathroom (love the shower!), and THAT BED -- the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The neighborhood is lovely -- perfect for early morning walks and an easy walk to the theatres. We go to Ashland as often as we can -- this made our seventh trip. Peter and I met in our high school theatre class -- we fall in love all over again while we are here! And Barbara's perfect Carriage House makes it that much more special. Can't wait to go back!
The Carriage House served us perfectly for 5 days. It was beyond our expectations. The kitchen had more utensils than we are used to in VRBO's and of a fine quality. Lots of extras were provided by Barbara and lots of special touches in the accommodations. Loved having comfortable places to sit and read and also a table and chairs for dining. We have been attending theatre in Ashland for 20 years and think, at last, we have found the place to also return to each year. It's a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to theatre, restaurants, shopping and pubs. Highly recommend.
My husband and I stayed 6 nights in the Carriage House the first week October. The apartment was cozy and worked well for us. Very light and lots of windows giving you a nice view eastward (the apartment is built over a 3 car garage with a separate entrance), the kitchen was well stocked, the apartment quiet, the electric fireplace great and warm in front of a small couch and chair, the bathroom roomy for two, and the bed was very comfortable. I walked daily to matinées and my husband drove east to fly fish on the Rogue River. Groceries and restaurants nearby. We would stay again.
Barbara's studio apartment is exactly what my husband and I have been looking for for many years. We go to Ashland every year and often stay in new places, hoping to find a place that's close to town and convenient while still being quiet and peaceful. It's furnished just beautifully, and there is plenty of room for two people, so you don't feel like you're tripping over each other or living out of a suitcase for a week. Barbara is so warm and friendly, so you feel more than welcome during the course of your stay. This studio feels like home. We will definitely be back.
We loved this apartment. Comfortable and quiet, close enough to the theatre festival and downtown, but far enough away so we felt secluded. Kitchen was very well stocked, though we opted to eat out at the wonderful places in town. Great queen bed. Can't wait to return! Thanks Barbara!
We loved this place. The bed, sofa and lounge chair in the living area were all super comfortable. The bathroom was large and clean and had great towels, soaps, and shampoo. The linens were new and plush. The full kitchen was furnished with a large variety of spices, condiments, coffee, tea and plenty of dishes and pans to make a nice meal. There is lots of great light from windows all around the cottage and also good blinds and screens in the windows. We were glad for the air-conditioning in mid-August when the temperature was near 100 degrees Farenheit! Barbara was friendly, relaxed, articulate, and she clearly worked hard to make everything work smoothly. She even furnished us with bicycles, helmets and locks. The location was excellent. It was on a quiet street near several café's and a quick drive or bike ride. We've been to Ashland seven times and this was the nicest place we've stayed. Thank you!
