Why Mrs Marie-Christine VASSILIADIS chose Petit-Montrouge
We chose to buy this apartment because it was a former artist's atelier with a terrace what is quite rare in Paris , very quiet although located in a lively area with a lot of shops, restaurants, convenient for public transportations and close to Montparnasse !
Local Services & Businesses
Our apt. in Paris was delightful. Christine was kind and helpful. The location was exactly what we wanted, a residential area with public transportation, restaurants and shopping close by. Each day I went to buy the baguette as a mythical ritual of living in Paris. My husband and I spent fifteen days, part of the time enjoying a glass of Sancerre or Champagne on the terrace and thinking how beautiful life is in Paris. The apartment is nicely decorated with meaningful art work. We enjoying their collection of music from around the world as well as their library. We spent several hours just relaxing, reading, and from our bed looking at the roofs of Paris. It is a charming apartment and we reminisce about it with nostalgia and a profound sentiment of homesickness.
It is always hard to say Adieu to Paris. This time is was harder than ever because our dreams and thoughts stayed within the door of the cute elevator which took us every day up to our home in Paris.
Great apartment with excellent nearby public transportation and Vélib stations, a good market on Rue Daguerre, everything you could want for a Paris base of operations. Agent Marie-Christine was very helpful with all aspects of our stay. The apartment is beautifully decorated and has everything you might need. I would return in an instant!
Our family of four, including two teenagers, had a wonderful stay at this property. We spent four nights here and could easily have stayed more. The apartment is located perfectly as a home base for exploring Paris. It is a very short walk from the metro/RER station so getting to and from both Paris airports was a breeze. In addition, there is a market street with several stands, cafes, and a grocery store just one block away. We were able to have wonderful meals on the rooftop deck with fresh food from the many wonderful market vendors.
The property itself was great for our family. It was up-to-date with everything we needed. The property manager was fantastic and met us on time to show the property and get us situated. She was very nice and made our stay s great experience.
We could be tourists during the day and then get back to our apartment in a area with no tourists to experience Paris as we imagine the locals do. This apartment was perfect.
Absolutely splendid apartment with rooftop views of Paris
I stayed for 11 days in this beautifully decorated, comfortable artist's studio in the 14th arrondissement with my sister, my 16 year old niece and my 18 year old daughter. The large, open living room with floor to ceiling windows ( I am sure the studio of an artist not too long ago) is filled with an eclectic mix of oil paintings, engravings, small pieces of clay models, all original art work. A very efficient new mac computer is tucked away in the corner with efficient internet connection. The collection of films and books could keep anyone entertained for days! (although all the books are in French, so fluency is a must).
The kitchen is well stocked for all your home cooking needs after shopping on the Rue Daguerre open market 2 blocks away. If you return home too late to buy food there are many sweet cafes and restaurants at your fingertips. The RER station is also only 2 blocks away at Denfert Rochereau which takes you directly to Charles DeGaulle airport.
The roof deck is charming with comfortable seating for 8, a large umbrella to protect from the direct sun, a BBQ, and plenty of plants to water.
The only real problems that we had were :getting in and out of the bathtub (being in our 60's) and it was terribly slippery; the step leading up to the outside terrace is dangerous, steep, and difficult to manage. I did actually fall once and bruised up a bit. ( Building another step would be enormously helpful.); and there are a few too many personal things in the apartment which leaves minimal space for travelers suitcases, clothes and
space in the bathroom. We ended our stay in the middle of one of the worst heat waves in Paris. The AC unit on the balcony did little to mitigate the heat unfortunately.
Despite the small problems, I would stay in this apartment again in a heartbeat.
Marie Christine who managed our stay was the best, enormously helpful and responsive to any question we had. She speaks English fluently.
We really loved this airy apartment with its views over the rooftops of Paris. It has real charm and is a lovely place to relax. Well-equipped (I especially liked the coffee-bean grinder/expresso machine) and very bright, in a secure, quiet private courtyard. Neighbours were very friendly. Rooftop terrace looked inviting (although we didn't really use it as the weather was rainy). Only a couple of minutes' walk from the Metro and bus stops and there's are supermarkets and shops very nearby, along with a laundromat. Three minute walk to the entrance to the catacombes and an easy stroll of about 15 mins to the Luxembourg gardens. An ideal base for a relaxing break. A highlight was sitting chilling in the bright lounge, drinking coffee, surfing on my iPad and listening to jazz on the radio.
Lovely and convenient Paris Flat
This apartment is modern, quiet and very convenient. It is a short walk to the Denfert-Rocherau Metro and RER stations, which will take you anywhere in Paris, including directly to Charles DeGaulle airport or Versailles. the Owner speaks great English and is very helpful in finding the apartment which is ticked away on a quiet side street to getting oriented to the neighborhood. There is a Monoprix Grocery, several great restaurants and bars within 100 yards (meters) of the apartment. The apartment is very clean and the beds comfortable. A beautiful spot with all the right touches.
For joggers there is an easy run to the Parc Montsouris.
