Our furnished downtown bungalow is available with one or two bedrooms and is available starting January 9th, 2017 for nightly or weekly visits. It is $115 nightly for 2 people and $145 for 4 or 5 people. No pets please. Completed in October 2015, it sleeps 2 to 5 people, and is only a few blocks from the river and the heart of downtown Salida. It features a custom kitchen, wood burning stove, hammocks, and a great front porch with incredible mountain views. There is a new, king size ,memory foam bed in one room, a new queen memory form log bed in the 2nd bedroom and a single day bed in the upstairs den. It is amazingly quiet for being downtown as it is situated on a peaceful side street. Email or call us for availability and more info and pictures of our spacious, new, comfy, downtown F. Street Bungalow.

Our 1 bedroom Mesa Guest House, a beautiful spot on the Salida Mesa with huge views, will be available for a 6 or 12 month lease starting October 1, 2017. We offer our mesa house furnished or unfurnished & offer 1 parking spot and storage in the garage. It is quiet and private with a gorgeous maintained courtyard and indoor fireplace. If you are looking for something more long term please call us to talk about our Mesa Guest House.

We specialize in creating beautiful healing sunny dwellings. You will find refreshing simple elegance, a peaceful atmosphere, and lots of fresh air to breath. All of the Colorado Ski Areas have tons and tons of snow. Monarch is no exception. It has snowed over 6' in the last 2 weeks. ! If you are looking for a get-away that doesn't include skiing, try soaking in one of the near by hot springs, hiking, hanging out by the river, enjoying the sun on the porch, or just lounge in one of the hammocks enjoying the view. We have incredible mountain biking trails and a fun bike bath through town. People come to Salida year round to enjoy the biking as it is often very mild in town during the winter. And of course, no shortage of shopping, antiquing, and dining downtown. Come check out our latest designs and enjoy the new downtown bungalow!

About Sharon Borch

I have been in Colorado since 1973 and in Salida for over 20 years. My partner is a native of Colorado. We enjoy the casual life style, the small town atmosphere, great bike riding, friendly people, great entertainment, great weather, recreational opportunities, the river! The mountains! The powder at Monarch!

Sharon Borch purchased this house in 2005

Why Sharon Borch chose South Central

Our mesa house was completed in the summer of 2012 and our Downtown Bungalow was completed in the fall of 2015. They are both true Salida Gems. I have been building custom bungalows in the downtown Salida area since 2003. My passion is for creating comfortable, simple, elegant, sunny and healing spaces. We both have a deep love and appreciation for beauty, and are happy to be able to share this with our guests. The mesa house is special for its incredible spacious views while being right in town. The quietness and open skies offer a wonderful respite from the rest of the world. Our downtown bungalow offers great views in a new home while being super convenient. It is cozy and fun with hammocks and new beds in both bedrooms. Please contact us for pictures. A full new kitchen offers a great spot to cook a good meal, or you can walk a few blocks to enjoy all the great downtown dining choices.

What makes this house unique

We love our mesa house for the views, the peace and seclusion, the beautiful summer gardens, and the horses grazing in the meadow down below the courtyard. We love being downtown because it's fun and convenient! All of my Salida Gem houses are custom built and have a very special feeling about them, from the fun, easy to use kitchens, the fireplaces, to the spacious bedrooms with views. We love being able to walk downtown for dinner and a great concert. The people here are the best!

Excellent house / hospitality.

If you can get this guest house, grab it. The house is great, well maintained, and clean. Sharon was incredibly helpful, and the fires laid in the fireplace while we were skiing were a really nice touch. The view out the windows looks over a field with mountains in the background, and while we were there we watched a red fox hunting and pouncing in the snow - very cool bonus. FYI - I've never given 5 stars before for anything.

Best of Salida

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I rented this property for a month beginning July 10, 2014. We have been coming to Salida for years. The property was perfect. Remodeled. Clean. Convenient to downtown. Loved seeing the deer on the mesa early in the morning. We will be returning. Best deal in town. Sharon, the owner, was very nice. We have stayed in many places in Salida. This is the best.

Peace and tranquility yet minutes from historic downtown.

  • 5 of 5

We are in the midlife a fantastic stay here in Salida. The house exceeded our expectations. The location is ideal. It is SO peaceful and we have seen deer, woodpeckers and humming birds from our deck, yet we are 2 minutes from Safeway and 5 minutes from downtown by bike. The house is extremely well equipped and immaculate. Highly recommended.

We are happy that you have been able to take advantage of the bikes for use here & have been cruising around town. It is very peaceful here on the mesa, lots of fresh air to breathe and yet so close to all the amenities! We hope to see you again!

Lovely property not far from downtown Salida

  • 5 of 5

This guest house was a pleasant surprise for our family after staying at a vacation rental that we were not very pleased with on our road trip. The owner was very responsive in advance of our trip, and she was very pleasant and helpful when we met her. The house was perfect for myself, my husband and our 4 year old daughter. It was impeccably done with everything we needed. And downtown was a short walk from the house. We would definitely stay again when going through this area.

great place! totally boss!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four enjoyed our stay in this cozy guest house. It is warm, comfortable and nicely decorated with special details including a hammock and a kiva - plus a great view of the mountains! We skipped our second day of skiing so that we could just relax and enjoy this special place. We will definitely be back.

Sharon was incredibly hospitable and welcoming. We would leave to go snow boarding and a new fire would be built every time we returned. Great view and a ton of privacy. The place was awesome. We miss it already and would definitely come back.

Owner's Response: Thanks for staying with us & so glad you enjoyed it! The fire burning in the kiva fireplace at the end of a winter day is something we love to share with our guests. The snow is great at Monarch now, with more on the way. Come visit!
