As noted, we are less than a mile away from Holly Creek Marina. Since you will be in the hills of TN, the walk to the marina is less than a mile down(hill), which is only an issue coming back :) Many of our guest have parked their trucks and boats in our drive, but please check out the photos to determine if it's right for your parking. Call me if you need alternate parking.

Launching from Holly Creek will put you in the middle of the lake, where you can reach any spot with ease.

Dale Hollow Lake, less than a mile away has over 625 miles of natural shoreline and beautifully clear water. Dale Hollow Lake is perfect for boating, wake boarding, jet skiing, diving, and fishing. It's a prime location for smallmouth bass fishing, currently holding the world record for the largest smallmouth bass!

If you enjoy horseback riding or hiking, don't miss the Red Oak Ridge Horse Riding / Hiking Trail that is less than 3 miles away from our cabin. (You will drive pass Red Oak Ridge Road on the way to the cabin.) The cool, wooded riding area offers 18 miles of beautiful and scenic trails developed for horseback riding or hiking. Beginning on wooded ridge top, riders can descend to follow the Dale Hollow Lake shoreline. Seven loops provide for cutbacks to shorten or lengthen the trail, and the Eagles Bluff Overlook provides one of the most spectacular vistas of Dale Hollow Lake.

Need a few days of relaxation? You can fish, swim, bird-watch, read, or rock and reminisce while rocking on our front porch in our big rocking chairs. The cabin has DISH satellite TV and a DVD with a selection of movies. We also put a few board games out for those of you who want to escape electronics.

About Vicki Sewell

My roots are deep in Tennessee. I was born a little more than a mile from this cabin and family members have lived in the area for over a 100 years. As a child, I spent all my summers and school vacations just 'up the road' at my grandparents' home; one day hoping to own my own 'Pea Ridge' piece of dirt!

While we currently live outside Atlanta, my husband and I bought the cabin in hopes that our children and friends will gather there with us for years to come.

Now we are opening it up to you, so that you can have the same 'state of mind' we enjoy each and every time we come home to Tennessee.

Vicki Sewell purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Vicki Sewell chose Dale Hollow Lake

When you arrive at the cabin, the stress of the 'outside world' will evaporate. It's a place where you can ask a stranger for help or directions and they will not hesitate. Most people in the area still like to visit to sit and 'talk a spell.' Once you experience Dale Hollow, you will most likely be back.

What makes this cabin unique

You can hear wild turkey calling from deep in the woods while having your morning coffee on the back porch. Just having a respite from the hectic work schedule will make all the great difference toward a well balanced life.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just wanted to thank u for everything you did for us last week, we really appreciated it. Despite the bad luck turkey hunting we did in fact have fun and enjoyed your place. Its very nice. We plan on watching the weather closer next year, and returning for revenge on the wild turkey!

All you need!

  • 5 of 5

I've been going to Dale Hollow Lake for 28 years now. I have stayed in a variety of different cabins - this is definitely one of the best! This house is beautiful, clean, and well stocked. It's very close to numerous docs, which is a huge plus!! We will definitely be checking the availability for this cabin in the future. Would love to stay again!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. You are right that the drive is on the steep side, as shown in the photos. The hills of TN can be a challenge. :) Thanks again.

Really nice place to stay with close access to the lake

  • 4 of 5

We were very pleased with our stay at The Big Fish. Very clean and roomy. Vicki is so nice and sweet! By being there on a Holiday, the marina was very packed and parking was rough with having a boat trailer and vehicle. It all worked out though and the people at the marina were absolutely wonderful!! Their hospitality was one to remember. Thank you Holly Creek Marina!! The only thing I had issues with (and trust me, it was minor) was not having enough cooking supplies such as baking dishes and utensils (whisk). The pots and pans/skillets there weren't the best. Plus the oven didn't seem to heat according to the temp I would set it at but like I said this is all minor things. We made due. We just didn't want to go out to eat and instead cook our food at the house. Again thank you Vicki!!!! Your place was wonderful!!! :) PS our little boy found the stash of toys/books you had in one of the closets. He was pretty happy to discover that!! :) Thank you!!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the review. You and your family were a delight and we are glad you selected the "Big Fish" for your stay. I appreciate letting me know what is needed for the cabin. I'll see if we can't improve our stash of cooking supplies! Additionally, thank you for letting me know about the stove, as it turns out, one of the oven elements was out. We now have a brand new stove in the kitchen. I'm glad your son liked the books and toys. I hope he enjoyed the book and characters, The Magnificent Sprinkles, as i'm the author and creator of the Magnificent Sprinkles. Again, thank you for staying at the Big Fish and we look forward to your return. Regards, vicki
