Over 500 years old, House Maddalena is part of a medieval townhouse located in the historic center of Spello, very close to Pintoricchio's frescos in the Cappella Baglioni. The apartment is located at the first floor, has been recently renovated and elegantly furnished, and has a fully equipped kitchen. The apartment is equipped with 2 bathrooms (shower with hydro massage) and a fireplace. The apartment windows are oriented on Via Maddalena, one of the 'Vicoli di Spello', very nice to see, which are narrow streets where people is living and often rich of plants and flowers.
House Maddalena offers, in a quite location, a wonderful experience: guests are immersed in Roman monuments and a Medieval landscape they can enjoy walking around. Seeing from the very narrow streets the Subasio mountain and its olive threes landscape is a unique experience.
Guests will have the chance to taste for free the organic olive oil cultivated by the owners in the Spello hills, the Bruschetta (delicious roasted bread with olive oil and garlic). The owners are available to visit the olive plants, explaining how the olives are cultivated and handled to produce the excellent olive oil. They will also provide detailed information to visit the closest Umbria's towns (Assisi, Foligno, Montefalco, Bevagna, Spoleto, Todi, Orvieto, Gubbio).
Guided excursions to the Subasio mountain can be arranged on request.

Commento b&b Maddalena
The apartment was very convenient to restaurants and churches in Spello. It was
Comfortable and clean. This apartment is on an alley just off a busy street, so there is noise from conversations and garbage removal which is to be expected in a walled city. Spello was a great base for exploring Umbria.
The owner was amazing. He helped us with everything. The flat is in the heart of the village. Typical Italian flat. We loved every moment of the holiday. The apartment was really well equipped.
Fabulous Apartment, Fabulous Town
My husband and I recently spent 2 weeks in this apartment. It was absolutely wonderful, as was Spello. The apartment was extremely neat, clean, and furnished nicely. Everything was comfortable, and we lacked nothing. The host left us his own olive oil, as well as fruit and wine. That was especially welcomed, as we arrived rather late at night. The host was also available to answer any questions we had or help us with problems. We had trouble locating one piece of luggage, and greatly appreciated that he was available to help us. The bed was comfortable, with plenty of bed linens and towels. There is a full bath, and another half-bath - a real bonus in an European apartment. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need - plenty of dishware, utensils, appliances, etc. The second bathroom is very large. It has an awesome shower, and there's a clothes washer in the bathroom as well. The apartment is located in the historic center of Spello. It was an easy walk to everything. There are the usual array of shops you find in Italian small towns: butcher, baker, cafes, bars, osterias, enotecas. There are also small souvenir shops, ceramic shops, and gift shops. We were very, very pleased with how beautiful Spello is, and enjoyed walking around town every day. A bonus was that Spello is located only about 5 minutes from the "big road", making travel to other locales extremely easy and fast. Spello is only minutes from Assisi and other significant Umbrian towns. We truly found everything to exceed our expectations and highly recommend Spello and this apartment. It was a joy to stay there, and we certainly would return.
This lovely apartment is the most comfortable, fresh, and well equipped we have stayed in on our travels through Italy from Australia. It is in a wonderful old building and the apartment itself is modern and chic. It was big enough for our family of three without feeling cramped. In fact it looks better in real life than in the pictures. It is in the heart of this beautiful ancient town and within walking distance of everything including the train. It has been a great base to explore the winding lanes of this medieval town other towns in the area. The nearby restaurants and wine bars are first class. We would definitely recommend taking the walk along the Roman viaduct and having lunch in Collepino, another small medieval town along the Subasio mountain, smelling the aroma of wild herbs and flowers and sampling wild figs. Osvaldo is a very kind and considerate host, picking us up from the train station, providing us with complimentary local wines, pasta, olive oil, and home made jam! He was always on hand to help out if we needed him and provided us with plenty of tips for our visit. I would recommend this apartment to anyone and we hope that we might return some time.
Unfortunately, the work on refurbishing infrastructure (sewer, aqueduct, electrical system and data transmission) that affected Spello has had a negative impact on your stay. We regret it and apologize for it. We are sorry if you have suffered the cold, because the heating system is very efficient and it would be sufficed to warn us to fix the problem. We try always to do everything possible to guarantee our guests a pleasant stay.
The apartment is located inside the roman walls of Spello, named by the emperor Costantino 'Splendidissima Colonia Julia'. Spello is one of the major attractions in Italy, testimonial of the roman and medieval age, with its narrow streets (named 'vicoli'), the Pintoricchio's frescos of Cappella Baglioni and the uniqueness of its landscape, with the Subasio mountain and the olive trees.
