I have been a business owner in Cody since 1983 and owned and operated a roller skating facility until just a few years ago. I have also been a horse owner since the age of fourteen with the exception of the four years that I attended Western Michigan University. My family moved to Cody from South Lyon, Michigan where I boarded horses and raised german shepherds. In the later years I was also involved with the K-9 Search & Rescue Team. We brought Children, Horses, Dogs and Cats to 'Big Wonderful Wyoming'! All three children graduated from Cody High School with the youngest attending the Wapiti School from grades K thru 6. My Morgan Mare went from Show Horse to Mountain Horse. She took care of me on the trail; as well as packing out Elk for the family. I purchased her at six months of age and lost her a few years ago at the great age of thirty three. She was my horse of a Lifetime! Cody Country is most definitely an Awesome place to raise a family and to visit
Linda L. Anderson purchased this apartment in 1986
Our Vacation Rental is located in the Wapiti Valley and offers outdoor experiences of a Lifetime! All the numerous amenities have been listed; however the Airport and the well maintained roads make it an A+ for quests and their travel experience. This property is located along on the River with excellent fly fishing and has an abundance of Elk and Mule Deer around the property at numerous times of the year. The Buffalo Bill Reservoir and Visitor Center is also near by and has boating and great fishing
This Property has Unique Mountain Views and Great Sounds from the Shoshone River that offer Tremendous Peace and Tranquility for our Guests. Such great amenities with Cody and Yellowstone nearby
My wife and I just completed our 3rd visit staying in the Bunkhouse Linda is a great host and this bunkhouse has everything we need and the scenery is breathtaking and access to the Shoshone River is ideal for any fly fishermen. This is a great place for a base when visiting Yellowstone and an easy drive to Cody as well. Highly recommend
The best thing about this rental was the location. Having said that, I would avoid this rental at all costs. We planned to cook meals here as this was about midway through a 2-week vacation. This rental really isn't set up for that. Here are my issues:
1) This kitchen was not suitable for cooking. There were old, broken utensils and a mismatch of old plates and silverware. The pans were badly worn and should have been thrown out.
2) It is basically part of a storage shed that they rent out. It was dirty, the futon sheets had holes in them and it wasn't well-cared for. You have to go through the bathroom to get to the bedroom which won't be an issue if there are only 2 people but more than that, it is annoying.
3)After our stay, I got a disturbing email from the owner about scratches that someone in my party had left on her table. I was shocked and in disbelief at this accusation. Our family is respectful and careful when renting properties as we also own a vacation rental. I emailed her back and told her that the alleged scratches were not from our party. I wonder if this is some sort of scam to get additional money from renters. Send them a picture of damage and ask for more money. My advice is to skip this rental at all costs.
The Bunkhouse at Stagecoach River Ranch was a wonderful place to stay and perfectly located for our 7 day Yellowstone Vacation, only 20 miles from Cody (A must visit) and 30 miles from YNP east entrance, on one of the most scenic drives in America. The Bunkhouse was cute, clean and spacious with all of the amenities that you need, we also enjoyed the western/cowboy theme of the cabin. Very nice bathroom and comfortable bed. The views from the cabin are beautiful in every direction. After visiting YNP several days we explored the surrounding area via Chief Joseph Highway and The Beartooth Pass (Neither should be missed). Can't wait to go back. Thank you Linda for letting us (Paul, Sandy, Pee-Wee and Buddy) stay at your bunkhouse and sharing your beautiful state with us. We will always have these wonderful memories of the week that we stayed in the beautiful state of Wyoming.
My wife and three teen kids stayed for four nights. It felt like we were at home and we had the whole place to our selves. (When we were there). Spent all day exploring the area surrounding this cabin. Perfect location to see some the most gorgeous scenery you will ever see. So close to east entrance of YNP and Cody was awesome. Best experience was the beartooth pass. OMG. Amazing! We stopped and had a picnic at the beartooth lake.(by ourselves) most perfect place I have ever seen. We ate and watched elk on the mountain across the lake. Got back to the cabin and cooked out on the grill and had 360 deg views of beautiful. Can't wait to go back. Already planning. Thanks Linda for sharing your piece of heaven with us. We will be back.
We had a great time and Linda was a great resource for things to do and see. Certainly would love to go back... only next time spend more time in the area! Be sure to give Kerry a good dog belly rub!
We had an awesome night in the Stagecoach River Ranch. It's a good, warm and cleaning house. We fell everything so good, just like we stayed at home. We arrived very late after we finished the last day's travel in Yellowstone Park. Linda give us a very detail introduce of her house. We see animals walking outside the windows in the morning when we have breakfast, felling very great.
We really wish we can stay more days in Cody in the Stagecoach River Ranch, if get next chance.
The Stagecoach River Ranch is located directly on the Shoshone River for absolutely awesome fishing and is for our Guests Exclusively!
