About Lori Gard

We are retired and enjoy this cabin immensely. We would like to share it with you when we are traveling.

Lori Gard purchased this cabin in 1985

Why Lori Gard chose Ashford

We love hiking in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter. This is truly a four-season getaway. It is spectacular here whether the sun shines or the rain or snow falls.

What makes this cabin unique

Nisqually Chalet is 5 miles from Mt. Rainier - a year-round location and destination dream for world travelers and locals alike. With mountaineering year round; hiking, climbing and backpacking in summer; and showshoeing, cross country skiing and snow camping in winter; Mt. Rainier and the surrounding Ashford area offer a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.

Perfect Get Away

  • 5 of 5

Very well-kept home in a very convenient location. Close to Rainier National Park, the trailheads to the Mt Tahoma Ski Trails, and even local parks. No TV reception, but she has a smart TV and Internet, so if you have a Netflix/Hulu etc account, you're good to go.

Cozy Cabin Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The Cabin was easy to find and in the perfect location right outside of the National park. We had a blast snowshoeing and exploring the park! We then came home to the cabin and cozied up by the wood fire stove (wood and kindling provided), drank hot cocoa, played card games, made a delicious dinner, ate popcorn and watched movies. We ended the night with a relaxing dip in the covered hot tub surrounded by twinkly lights. It was the perfect romantic, cozy, and care free night. The cabin had everything we needed! I would 100% recommend for any time of the year and will be returning hopefully sometime soon :) Thanks Lori!

Great Location for some time away to relax and just unwind

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was great. The hot tub worked well, we LOVED the fireplace and the outside fire time. Close enough to Mount Rainer to make a day of it and come back and have some down time. The kids loved the upstairs loft area to play and have space for themselves. It was cozy and comfortable. The beds were good and the sheets soft. With kids it was nice having access to a laundry room and the kitchen had a great selection of items to use. We'd like to come back to when it's more stormy. Although it was hard not having phone service it was nice having internet to not be completely unplugged.

Great Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I were attending a wedding in the area and we couldn't have been happier with this cabin. The hot tub was so relaxing, nice and clean cabin overall . Requested to have an early check in and the cabin manager was prompt in responding and kind enough to allow that. I will defiantly be booking this cabin again!

Lovely well equipped home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time, the property was very welcoming, right outside the park and had all the things we could have wanted. It was hard to leave to spend time on the mountain! The hot tub was very nice and covered with a door straight to the shower, extra towels and bathrobes provided. The couch and TV were perfect, and there was a fire built in the wood burning stove all ready to go. We cooked all our meals and found the kitchen well appointed with all the utensils, pots and pans we could want and even the couple of spices and olive oil we forgot. Thank you so much for everything, we will be back!
